That's been an unfortunate situation for you. I can tell you, I pulled the "RV cam" (if you will) out of our grey van and went to a stock cam. The weight of a van is a killer to a 318. I suggest if you want the lumpy sound without giving up low end power, I'd try a Hughes Whiplash cam. I can say, though, that I like the stock cam in our van better than the Comp cam that was in there.
So what’s the 318 making for power?
Have no idea, but we are shooting for a lower ET in this 318's last dance!
Can’t wait for those 4.10’s. 3.73 no??
See what I can find! Or else, I have 3.55's now
Love it!
Thanks!!
My old 318 just started smoking after 305k on it.
they are runners!
classic 318 rumble, if it aint broke, so they say, wants to eat
Thanks!

@318willrun the first cam she bought was a lunati voodoo pt# 100200701 now I'm no expert on degreeing in cams all I've ever done was dot to dot wth number one top desk center an although it was supposed to gave a mind lumpy idle I never noticed ine it was smooth as far as I could tell but at that time I still had the factory exaust manifolds on and that was when I first fired up van with all the sabatouged valve springs wgst gets me I found very old shims tgst gad vern under the springs fir many yrs they appeared to be between 1/4 to a 1/8 inch thick copper old shims an he webt an added new shinny ones on top of the already old ones the factory would not have put shims under valve springs would they I'm thinking someone had already at some point installed a mild cam in the van prior to ME buying thr van when he seen old shims already in place he should have stopped an said ok these springs hsve already bern shined once yrs ago were not reusing them were putting new ones in wtg thus new lift cam but like I ssid ge had by then already found out his wife was having him build a engine an buy the parts wn was giving it back yo Mr on credit an he admitted to sabotaging the heads to teach her to never go behind his back an hsve him doing credited labor an parts expense for another man truthfully I can't blame him fir being mad I would hsve been also but he didn't have to destroy my engine knowing I was on disability an getting less than 900 a month to live on and on top of thst he knew my engine needed to be built sn bsck in an van off the person property where it was parked at by a certain time or they was going hsve it tired an impounded an me living in it my only home I should hsve want on the ol inner web sn keft a full detailed review on the whole mess but I'm not made like thst my daddy God rest his soul raised me to believe 2 wrongs dint make a right!!!! So I left it alone it would have hurt the business an although he was a A hole she was trying to help me an trusted in me to pay het bsck it would hsve hurt not only him but ger aswell by leaving a bad review she's in ger 70,s an a sweetheart of an older lady take a look at the lunati cam kit I had in the engine first I debt u thr part number above an compair it to this one u told me u advised me against putting in my engine in van trll me if it's much bigger of different tgsn the lunati I had in it originally it did have a better bottom end torque an quicker throttle response whst little I did drive it before flushing engine an pulling iy sn lifters holler at me either herr or my email address either ones fine eth me
