I appreciate your hard work doing the research and keeping us updated. Especially with the whole cancer scare with perming. Thank you for being thorough. You could have done so many things, but you paused, regrouped, and reached out. Thanks🎉❤😊
Awww thank youuu🥹 it was honestly weighing on my heart and mind, I had to take a moment to figure things out for myself and for you, my girls!! Thank you for your sweet comment, support and for watching🫶🏾
I don’t normally comment, but I had to say thank you for listing the Canadian websites for Canadian viewers. It was a pleasant surprise. Your the first channel I came across that does that. Thanks for the video!
Hey Val! Gota say thank you for being my go to girlie. I was diagnosed with CCCA recently and have been using products to try and stop the loss. CCCA is prominent in black women and is typically caused by relaxers and tight hairstyles. When I saw the pictures that the dermatologist took of my scalp I was shocked! I haven’t had a mf relaxer since February 2023 because that’s when I realized I had patches of bald spots (shout out to the lady who relaxed my hair but never said anything to me or showed concern). Your girl is doing her best not to break down and cry but that news hurts. I genuinely believe it could’ve been negligence on my hair lady’s part and possible over processing that scarred my hair follicles. ANYWAYS y’all pray for me, my scalp and my hair because I will miss my relaxer.
FWIW, I've never had a relaxer and got diagnosed with CCCA. Never worn weave or wigs either. I've heard it can also be linked to fibroids which many black women have. Still not sure the exact cause of mine, perhaps inflammation? Idk, but I encourage you to do the best you can with the information you have and be kind to yourself. You're doing great, you got this!
I’ve been enjoying the Scurl Free Flow so much and I’ve been using the Camille Rose oil for about a year! Great products. Thank you for all you do! Your videos have helped my hair growth journey tremendously❤💐
Wow! I’m so so glad you’ve been loving the SFF. It’s so good!! Yes the Camille Rose hair growth oil is a fave. I always look forward to using it. Thank you so much for your kind words, feedback and love💕 it’s really appreciated!!
I’ve been following you for years but haven’t used a relaxer in about 4 years. Recently decided to restart my hair journey after wearing braids and just want to say wow, I’ve missed my relaxed hair and your videos! I had no idea where to start again with upkeep and maintenance. Also thank you for updating your products because of the ingredients!! 🫶🏾
It's so good to see you as always. I've never paid that much for an edge control, but I don't believe you'd steer me wrong, so I'm gonna try it, especially if it does what you say. Great video 💜
I love, LOVE Color WOW. I have been using it for months now and it hasn’t failed me yet. I bought the Camille Rose oil for my natural hair daughter and it has done wonders for her hair. I am going to start using it also. Thanks for your advice, love your videos.🥰
I'm going to try that oil, I'll wait until I get my relaxer. Then, use it as I stretch out. I've gotten rid of lots of things due to harmful chemicals. Thank you very much for sharing this God-Bless you 🪷 ❤
Hey Sapph!! Right?! So much to consider when it comes to using products on a weekly basis that have toxic ingredients. Always do what's best for you and your hair. Can't wait for you to try it. Yes, start at the beginning of your relaxer stretch to see the difference. Thanks so much for watching!!
Would you consider doing a video on exactly how you use the gel and edge control? I’m wondering if you use them together what would that look like in application…? Thank you and SO glad you’re back!
Yesss Val. I definitely love Color Wow.. it’s awesome. I wanna try all the products you’ve mentioned, especially the rosemary oil & gel and edge control. Great video.
Umm that’s a great question! There’s no real indicator prompting me to switch or try something knew if it’s been working well, but every so often the urge to try something from one or two categories in my regimen doesn’t hurt. If it doesn’t work out, I just default to my staples😌☺️ plus it gives me more recommendations for you ladies!!
Welcome back! And I'm happy that my videos have been helpful. Let me know what type of videos you would like to see from a natural to relaxed hair journey perspective💞
Thank you much for yr videos! Yr instructions have grown my hair tremendously over the years…So with the affirm relaxer… what was that pump bottle actually used for again? I noticed the last one was shampoo, so what’s the conditioner for the affirm relaxer?
Hey hun! Aww so happy to hear that, you’ve made my day. I love sharing💕and I’m glad that my content has been helpful to you and your hair. It was the positive link, it’s used directly after relaxing, before the normalizing shampoo✨
When i had a bone st8 relaxer , u convinced me to texlaxed i used darkand lovely and aphogee and my hair reached but crack length. Then i went natural and my hair would break and brastrap length everytime i had to get Hair cut. I corrected those issues, and im headed back to bum length
Thank you! Only if my hair is dirty or heavy with a lot of product, I’ll notice some residue but wiping a little water over my edges helps and reinforces the grip!!
Question: do you still use Imani to purchase your relaxers, or do you just get them from Amazon as indicated in your links? on another note ...I am a relaxed pixie girl, stretching my relaxer is a serious journey. Hats hoodies and scarfs are my friend this winter. Any advice for us?
Hey Val, did Luster no drip take DMDM out of their product? I don't think I seen it the last time I was reading the ingredients but I could be wrong. Thanks a lot.
Hi first off I love watching your videos, and how beautiful and healthy your relax hair is, I just have a question about the vitamins, do you take a particular Iron supplement or do you just get it from your multi, if so which Iron supplement do you take?
I am really thinking about switching to the Affirm relaxer system after watching your videos. I am a bit worried because I have the most sensitive scalp. I am using no-lye currently, but I hear that Lye is just better for the hair because it doesn't leave calcium deposits. I burn really easily, despite basing my scalp with petroleum jelly
I use the dry itchy scalp formula for sensitive scalp. It works really well but follow the instructions exactly on the box with the activator. Use the neutralizing conditioner 1st then the normalizing shampoo.
🎉🎉 whats the best oil to use on ends mine feel dry while the rest of the hair is smooth and soft and this is just one week post virgin relaxing using the same relaxer system
Were you a hairdresser to begin with? 🤔 just wondering. If not how did you get started doing your own hair vs going to a shop. And what made you conclude that you will do your own relaxer? Was it cost or did you have a bad experience with the salons in your town? Just curious
I was never a hairdresser nor did I go to school for hair. I started my hair journey with hopes of repairing my damaged relaxed hair. I used to go to the hairdresser but quickly had to unlearn everything they taught me because it was doing more harm than good. I prefer to do my hair at home because it thrives💕
In reference to the vitamins, does your multivitamin include vitamin c and vitamin d? Any extra mcg’s probably wouldn’t hurt but just wondering. You are beautiful and your hair is gorgeous Love. 🥰🥰
Hi Sunshine please can you do atutorial for on how you sleek your ponytail with your new products and pretty much, tutorials on your new hair routines with the new products. My name is Kolreki from Ghana.and thank you
I believe the Gummy hair styling wax has 2-bromo-2-nitropropane-1 3-diol (also known as Bronopol) which unfortunately releases formaldehyde :( Back to the flax seed gel for me.
Either Amazon or reach out to Avlon to see if there’s a local distributor that sells it, they’ll let you know. I know there are salons in UK that use Affirm on their clients ie. Elite Hair Lounge.
I hear you! I always recommend mixing it with another carrier oil especially if you have fine hair. It’s a heavy oil but such a powerhouse when it comes to promoting hair growth, fullness and softness in the hair💕
I noticed unusual excessive hair shedding. Full length with the bulb on the end. I'm already anemic and have prescribed high dose I take 3x a week. I looked into vitamin D. Took 2k IU a week before wash day and the shedding was day and night. 🙏🏽🥹
Keep up with the iron. It’s going to take a couple months to really see a slow down in shedding. Also, 2K IU of Vit D sounds a bit low. Double check with your doctor to see if that amount is enough for you or if you can up your dosage. Also, make sure you’re eating enough protein in your diet and keep stress to a minimum. It will get better🙏🏾💕
