For context [SPOILER AHEAD]: After Shirou enters the church basement on day 15 and gets stabbed, Saber comes to rescue him. Kirei then offers Shirou the grail, but he rejects it. Then Kirei offers Saber the grail if she kills Shirou. If you have failed to gaun enough bond points with Saber over the course of the Game, she will do it.
@@mr.jokermaker4539 well to be honest, im still traumatized by how often she murdered the shit out of me, but I guess in the ends shes not the worst there is
Honestly aftering reading about bond points in this visual novel has got my mind BLOWN! Sorry that this is a rather late reply to this comment, but considering fgo has bond points for the hundreds of servants in it, no big deal right? But to think that the ending is determined by the relationship of your waifu (or can be) is insane! It should be easy for visual novel pros to tackle through but if you're new to both fate and visual novels, then you're kinda screwed 😂😂
@@iamthestormthatisapproaching69 I remember being worried I was going to get a bad end when I chose to go downstairs to see Ilya kill Shinji over instantly helping Saber following her fight with Rider, though I think since almost all my choices before and after that were choices that prioritized Saber’s feelings I managed to avoid this bad end my first time playing. If I wasn’t experienced with visual novels and relationship points I probably would’ve ended up with this bad ending though lol.
The fact that despite this, arturia still can't get her wish because clearly the grail and kirei are tricking her is what makes this very harsh in hindsight. But this truth is only made clear after this bad ending is avoided
This one is very interesting, and imo, very link to Emiya as well. Essentially, the first failure that Emiya had in his life that accumulated his eventual lose of his own ideals making him desire "not exist anymore" was the fact that he wasn't able to save Saber, he wasn't able to save her. In this end is the same, Shirou didn't touch Saber enough, he wasn't able to save her, his influence on her wasn't enough to save her, so he also "stopped existing anymore"
@@sethdavenport6445 what? This end is very sad Since you didn't manage to get enough into her heart, saber strong desire was able to make her body act and reach for the grail Shirou isn't wrong and she knows it She praises him and desecrate herself But she still wish for the grail, and the temptation was high enough, her desesperation high enough, and you were in some way not important enough that her utilitarian side could win for long enough to kill you, despite her honor, despite her instinct of a good person And damn taiga doujo has no respect for the fourth wall.
I JUST WANTED TO GIVE SHIROU LIKE ONE SECOND OF WHOLESOME PARK TIME WITH HIS LONG-LOST FAMILY, AND FOR THE ABSOLUTE NERVE OF NOT SPENDING LITERALLY EVERY SECOND WITH HER, SABER DECAPITATES ME! WHAAAAAAAAAT?!
Heyy remember that one guy in that one comment thread of the saber character development meme where he constantly insisted that fate saber was just some glorified sex toy for shirou despite everyone trying to tell him that even in the same route that she falls for shirou she roasts his ass for doing the same thing iskandar did on zero disrespecting her goals and wishes? Yeah here's another receipt that shows that saber is not some one dimensional sex toy for shirou even in the route where she is a one dimensional sex toy for shirou.

I love this ending. Despite being bad end, it's still perfectly fits in main theme of vn. It's not about grail war or something else. It's story how naive boy always fails trying achive false dream. He want be hero, yet he can't barely compare to the real heroes of the past. He can't overcome King Arthur's weight of responsibility and legacy for whole country Kingdom, it's like different levels. It's shows how naive idealist Shirou it's can't win in global. Yeah, he can win war, but he probably die in Afghanistan or something like that in middle age. Only in one time line, where he messed up more than usual, he become counter guardian, just a anti hero, who clean inocent witnesses for ethernity. He can't become real hero on his own, only after fusion with Muramasa and Susanno.
