Out of all the people that do movie breakdowns/movie reviews you are my favorite. Even though you take long brakes of time between your videos at times please never truly leave us we need your commentary, it’s the best! Glad to see you’re back doing videos.
This is no excuse for the continuity in the series, but it could be a fun way to watch them: In the first movie, there is a deleted scene where Dan finds out that Herbert shoots up a bit of his own reagent to get a boost. Kind of like taking adderall when you don't actually need it. I then saw it as a side effect of taking the reagent while still alive, gave him regenerative abilities. Or at least make him much harder to kill. Which would explain why he's still alive after the first two movies. They seemed to have kept that effect for when the druggie prisoner shoots it up. That's also why Herbert tells him to stop. He knows the limits of it, but is then equally curious as to the result of taking too much. The overdose. Of course, none of this is cannon because the scene was deleted in the first film, but I still like to have it in my mind as I watch them. (Though I still don't care for the 3rd one)
Overall I find the first fantastic and amazing and the third has some form of entertainment even as its so lacking in well good writing and minus Jeffery Combs, lack of amazing actors
RIP Stuart Gordon. You made some truly remarkable films during your time and excelled at adapting Lovecraft's work. Side note: Have you ever considered reviewing the Terminator films? I'm curious to hear your thoughts on the series as a whole.
Ahhh, nothing quite like H.P. Lovecraft Month! I wonder if Deus will ever review the anthology film "Necronomicon"; it doesn't just have Jeffrey Coombs, it's got Coombs *playing* H.P. Lovecraft! Another thing I'd be interested in seeing is Deus sharing his thoughts on other Clive Barker films; he's done the Hellrasier series, but I'm curious what is his take on Night Breed and Lord of Illusions.
I'm a patron, but I waited until today to watch this video because I wanted it to be part of my October celebrations for my first day off in my favorite month. Stumbling upon your first HP Lovecraft month is what got me to your channel to begin with and I have been looking forward to this for a while.
Ah, October. Lovecraft Month. Something I honestly find myself looking forward to the past couple of years. Though for me, it's also Junji Ito month, as I read his stuff almost every night in October.
I remember Reanimator being the cause of the song Move your Dead Bones. A song that is always stuck in my long term memory. It was awesome learning about the series. Here's to the next video and have a great day man :)
After all these year we finished "Reanimator" movie franchise "Now that he is gone and the spell is broken, the actual fear is greater. Memories and possibilities are ever more hideous than realities."
It's spooktober, Deusdaucon uploads and I'm eating briskets...what more can I ask for. Been a while man, good to see you're doing well and love the beard brother
Fantastic new review. It's great to see you again and you're totally rocking that beard. I look forward to your new reviews and hope that you're coping well during all the current madness.
Ive only discovered your channel about half year ago but i managed to watch almost all your reviews, some of them twice, love your presentation, calm and not obnoxious way of speaking and your great, in depth, detailed review style. Keep it up, i think you have got a great core of loyal watchers who will stick with you and your content even if you take your time between uploads! I'm one of them! Thanks for the quality entertainment!
ohh shiit!! love seeing you again! bro after your lovecraft reviews i cant get enough of him, basicly everynight i put on audio readins of lovecraft stories and others like him, thanks for exposeing me to such a great author i even bought the collection of his stories.
nice! keeping the old style, but improving. It's subtle, but your presentation really has improved (lighting, pauses, audio) compared to the old stuff. awesome job!
I sensed a disturbance in the algorithm... The sound of 15000 viewers cheering to the sound of an intro I never thought I'd see again... Welcome back Daecon, can't tell you how refreshing it is to see more new HP Lovecraft reviews.
I do enjoy this movie, but I admit it's pretty flawed. Honestly, I watch these movies mainly for Jeffrey Combs. As for his ability to fight his creations now, I do think there's an explanation: dude's been in prison for 13 years. And being who he is, and acting as he does, he'd have to get tougher to survive. We saw only a little slice of his time, and he had someone ready to shank him. No way a guy like him makes it in lockup without getting tougher. Also, yeah, it was Dan who turned evidence against him. We see him loaded into a cop car, and likely after the horror show of the last movie, Dan had enough and wanted to make sure West got locked up for good.
So satisfying to see clips from Color Out of Space in the new H.P. Lovecraft month intro. That movie was a great adaptation of my absolute favorite Lovecraft story!
I’m trying to figure when and if UA-cam sent out my videos to people, are you aware this video came out in October ? were only told about it now or is it just a choice to watch now ? honestly wouldn’t be surprise if you had no idea and UA-cam didn’t tell you.
Given how often these films reference the Rats in the Walls, I'm surprised there's never been an adaptation of it. Given what I know of the story, It seems like you could have a really interesting horror film that no one's tried to produce.
This movie was actually my first induction to re- animator subsequently my introduction to HP Lovecraft as well so it has a weird special place in my heart
well im uploading for the next four weeks so thats something, Also im live on twitch 5 days a week if you need more reassurence www.twitch.tv/deusdaecon
Like, I get it. Twitch is any easier platform that UA-cam. You just play and get donations (with commentary obviously). But I'm just not a Twitch guy. Doesn't mean I don't love your work, just prefer your videos. Even if we just got 1 video a month, then I'd be happy. But obviously I don't know the time it takes for make a fantastic quality video. Only you do. I'm not going anywhere, but more Tube and less Twitch would TECHNICALLY BE better :).
Die Monster Die with Karloff and Nick Adams is good too. I have had several stories published in Lovecraftiana and Lovecraft themes can be carried out to extreme lengths. Great review by the way on an excellent series available at a reasonable price in a three disc set with tons of extras!
I kinda don't mind invincible West. It feels like a beloved pro wrestler coming out of retirement to "play the old hits". Like he's a zombie bull fighter or something.
A day where Deusdaecon uploads is always a good day! Cheers!
Amen to that
Danged skippy! 👍👍
Dragoonistiri fact
I have waited for what feels like an eternity within an eldritch void for this.
Right?!
Your reviews are incredibly rewatchable and interesting!
Totally! I love even just listening to them.
Oh man, Hes back, Ive been anticipating this.
Damn near wet meself when I saw this in my subscription feed.
Im looking forward to him talking about a modernized Cthulhu in the deep, and really looking forward to Color out of Space
Out of all the people that do movie breakdowns/movie reviews you are my favorite. Even though you take long brakes of time between your videos at times please never truly leave us we need your commentary, it’s the best! Glad to see you’re back doing videos.
Yes indeed I apologise for the long breaks at they’ll be reviews for this whole month, and there’s twitch as well if you need more content
Deusdaecon Reviews I will have to check out twitch for more of your content is always needed. 🤗
Phelous is the best, YMS, IHE plus GBorBB and The Newbee are close seconds. Never heard of this guy before.

@@Kyusoath wermp. Thanks for pointing out the thumb slip. New phone and the keyboard isn't as wide as my old phone. Still trying to adjust
3rd one definitely is weaker than the other two but overall I love this franchise . As over the top and morbid humor is just enjoyable overall
Overall I find the first fantastic and amazing and the third has some form of entertainment even as its so lacking in well good writing and minus Jeffery Combs, lack of amazing actors
He’s back and bearder than ever!
lol

Night breed could have been so good
Guess who’s back! I’m a big fan of the channel, keep up the work bro!
I am so stoked that you're back, and for an H.P. month, such a great gift for us all
That "no" line kind of looked like he was suppressing a burp but really didn't want to have to redo the line.
The Great Pumpkin has blessed us! H.P. Lovecraft Month is here!
So happy you're back and in time for lovecraft month.

22:29 - 22:57 I get the reference, @Deusdaecon. I freaking love Jeff Wayne's War of the Worlds! Favorite song, Thunderchild! Which was yours?
It's spooktober, Deusdaucon uploads and I'm eating briskets...what more can I ask for.
Been a while man, good to see you're doing well and love the beard brother

i started watching you earlier this year so this is the first Lovecraft month I've been here for super stoked to see what else comes out

Deus glad to see you back again love your reviews always!
Good to have you back, mate! Great review, as always!
Glad to have you back after a much too long absence.
The prisoner biting the nurse's breast scene seems almost like a homage to Burial Grounds where a zombie child bites his mother's breast.
We’ve missed you man, glad to see you’re still doing good with everything going on this year
Finally! Lol been waiting for a new youtube video for, feels like forever. Your the best man!
Good to see you back dude...I hope you've been well. This review was dope as per usual.

West might be the "bad guy" but honestly.. He's doing the kinda work no one else has the vision or balls to do. Imagine a cure for death!
I cant think of anything worse then a world where no one dies, watch altered carbon for an example of why thats a bad idea.
This movie was actually my first induction to re- animator subsequently my introduction to HP Lovecraft as well so it has a weird special place in my heart
