This speaker deserve the love it’s been getting but with that said I have 2 grips. 1 is I have 2 of these and the connectivity between the 2 sucks. They connect perfectly if they’re side by side but if I separate them by more than 1 meter the slave speaker starts intermittently cutting out. Defeats the purpose of having 2 if you can’t put them on either side of a room. My 2nd grip has to do the EQ if you have 2 speakers. All the presets are synced between the 2 but not the custom. So if I press the bass up on the main speaker the slave will follow suit, that’s not the case with the custom setting. So, with all that said, if you’re planning on just getting 1 budget Bluetooth speaker then the Motion+ is a no brainer. If you love the one you’re thinking about doubling your pleasure then I would definitely take into consideration the issues I mention above and be weary.
I completely get that, and you're right. If they won't play together in sync then it defeats the purpose entirely. I had some issues at first but didn't after clearing away any interfering devices - i'm sorry you had so many issues! I understand about the custom EQ - hopefully a software update could address that though! Thanks for raising these points though, definitely useful for people to know!

Very detailed review. I've purchased this speaker off Amazon after thinking its pretty good value and I like balanced sound that has all frequencies not just a heap of bass that drowns everything else. That seems common in allot of speakers now. I'm looking forward to seeing how good this sounds.
yes I believe it to absolutely be the best Bluetooth speaker for $100, especially if you use the Anker Motion Plus smart app to customize it's 7 band graphic EQ. And don't forget to do the Motion Plus's firmware update that just came out to fixThe oddities that were happening when pairing two together and using the custom EQ settings from the app. check out some other reviewers custom EQ curves for absolutely hi-res performance that makes a huge difference when judging what the speaker can really do. The soundcore app and it's customizable EQ are imperative to use guys! Super important!!! Seriously guys this is an incredible speaker, honestly if it cost $200 it would still be a GREAT DEAL!
First, I must congratulate you on a really excellent review. I have recently purchased the Motion+ and agree with the majority of your comments. Regarding TWS pairing, according to SoundCore tech support, the two speakers may have to be much closer than the 5 meter stated limit. Also, considering the comments in your review, Bluetooth connectivity between two Motion+ speakers may not be very robust. BTW, a (somewhat expensive) alternative to TWS pairing is to use external BT receivers connected to the speakers' 3.5 auxiliary inputs. When used with a dual channel BT transmitter, both speakers will reproduce the same signal (rather than left and right stereo channels). Depending on the application, it may be advantageous to be able to control the volume and equalization of each speaker independently (e.g. via the SoundCore app). In my case, I also wanted to be able to use the low latency version of the AptX codec (AptX-LL) which the Motion+ doesn't natively support. AptX-LL reduces the end-to-end latency to around 50ms which is less than AptX and is significantly less than AptX-HD. In addition, BT 5.1 (and later) allows for much greater separation between transmitter and receiver (which can be very helpful for speaker placement). Overall, as you mentioned in your review, the Motion+ provides excellent sound quality and comes with many built-in features. It's very good value for this price-point.
I've got a motion plus and it is great. It is very easy to use and it is fun to play around with the sound settings in the app. I recently updated the speakers firmware, and that was a very easy process as well. I'd recommend getting one of these speakers. Anker makes some great products.
Have you tried Calling through bluetooth connection ? I've checked through aux cable and it does do the job. I got 2 of them and there's no distortion at all. Twos sound is awesome where one sounds perfect for me though. Yes, Bass is balanced and i loved that it doesn't loses its bass quality even at high volumes where other high end speakers loses its bass quality.
Great review. Great written voice overlay with good video too. Very well executed here. Subbed to your channel and thumbs up. The X2 TWS and this Motion+ are some of Ankers gems.
Any recommendations for a bluetooth portable speaker that has good sound separation? I mean I already bought the motion+ but am curious on what level of prices are the ones that have good sound separation.
I guess it depends on what your price is - otherwise the list is endless! At under $100 I haven't found a speaker that's better than this. But your options change depending on the price bracket
Just came across your review. Amazing video, to-the-point and detailed enough to help you decide on your next purchase. I have a question though. This or the Flare Plus ? Bass and clarity are my only priority
Hello InsideTech, I am torn between the buying the motion + and another player in the market, the W king D8, I would highly appreciate your input on this purchase consideration.
It's really a question of design: do you want the 360 audio and party-style of the Flare+ (and flashing LEDs) or do you want the minimal and professional design of the Motion+ - I think this is the most important factor
It really depends what you're going for, they each offer different features and style. If you want 360 audio then you've got to go for the revolve or megaboom. The Megaboom 3 has a distinctively bass-heavy sound signature, whereas the Motion+ (and revolve) have much more balanced, higher clarity styles. You've got to decide which factors you prioritise and what sort of listening style you like!
Yes it is. I think you need to decide based on the design. Do you want the cylindrical, 360º audio, LED-lit Flare+? Or the traditional, minimalist Motion+ with higher res sound? I think your design preference will be the most important factor here. But I have a full Flare+ review too if you want to compare all features.
@@insidetechltd can u tell me how does flare plus sound in low volume like 30-40 percent? Amd according to u which one i shoud buy...im into features lighting nd ol.. how much better is motion plus than flare plus?
For the price difference, the Motion+ is better value. But consider that the JBL has better battery, bass and a USB-A port for charging other devices. It's also bulkier than the Motion+ though, and the Motion+ has higher clarity audio - so in terms of audio quality it depends what kind of sound you like. I'd pick the Motion+ though personally
Check out Oluv's Gadgets review and comparison of the two and you'll see that the Charge 4 can't even get close to the Motion Plus's performance. In fact, I sold my brand new Charge 4 to get one of these guys and never once regretted it.
I think Soundcore recommends it for the best performance, but it will probably arrive with half charge or something like that. So you can probably just listen to it straight away if you want!
I'm looking for a louder bluetooth speaker to strap to my ATV. I currently switch between my BRAVEN BRV1M and a JBL Charge 3 but I need just a little more volume. How would the Motion+ compare with both those speakers?
I'm not sure about the Braven speaker, but I would expect the Motion+ to be a little louder than the Charge 3 (30 W vs 20 W). However, if you're strapping it to an ATV, i'd highly recommend you go for a dust-proof speaker instead. So maybe check out the Sony SRS line like the XB33 or XB32
Excellent review, really appreciated it. Do you think it's worth it to buy two motion+ and use them in stereo TWS or simply go for a high end Bluetooth speaker as JBL Extreme 2? Thanks!!!
If you were using them in stereo 100% of the time, I would go for a single speaker instead. I'm yet to find any two stereo pairing speakers that maintain a constant connection 100% of the time - there is always an occasional dropout. However, if you just wanted to use the stereo pair feature occasionally, then get two Motion+ speakers. I hope that makes sense and helps!
I have both and the MotionPlus blows the Tribit out of the water. both are very nice but using the Sound Core smartphone app's customizable EQ made a huge difference and it was obvious no contest. The Tribit is super nice, and on paper looks like it could hang, but it really can't.
@@sethnicholls7861 bro can i use the eq in app then connect speaker with pc with same settings?is that possible?with aux cable to pc and bluetooth to smartphone for settings?
You have to restart the speaker everytime you switch from laptop to mobile phone use. If you don't, the laptop won't recognize it as an audio device, and the phone won't connect for some reason. Also the wireless stereo pairing is not smooth, one speaker will constantly stop playing for a few seconds. There's also a noticeable delay in video playing.
I would say yes. The Flip 5 has fewer features, doesn't have bluetooth 5 and the audio clarity isn't as high. If you like its design and a more bass-heavy sound signature then it might be better for you, but otherwise I think the Motion+ is better

I listened to spotfy and youtube offical videos for music on both PC and TV and made many settings. Really hard to say without narrowing it down more. The best speaker for movies would be one that has very low latency and sounds good - and the Motion+ fits the bill. But there are many other speakers with low latency that sound good too, so you just need to find one at a price you're happy with!
You’ve really got to pick by design I think. Do you want the flashing LED lights and party vibe? Or do you want a more minimal, sophisticated look? The motion+ has a higher clarity audio experience if audio is a priority for you, but I think you’ve got to pick your favourite looking speaker
Good Evening . I am between 4 speakers and I would like your opinion which is the best. I am between Soundcore motion +, jbl flip 5, jbl charge 5 and Huawei Sound Joy 30W. Would you rather say that it is better than these?
I've not tested the Huawei speaker, but I'd say the Motion+ has greater clarity than the JBL speakers. JBL has more of a bass-focussed sound (which some people prefer), so it depends on your preference for sound as well!
@@insidetechltd Since everyone was bashing the charge 4 (my initial choice until I began researching) and I found motion+ for £70, I bought it to try out and it's pretty good - especially with custom eq - so I'm keeping it

It's better now than it was, just tested it again, but there is a tiny delay still. Most people wouldn't notice, but the eagle-eyed person would notice a small delay. If you're just using it casually it should be absolutely fine
It depends what kind of sound you like. The XB41 is a bass-heavy speaker and the bass thumps more than the Motion+. But the Motion+ has higher clarity and a wider soundstage. It’s objectively a better quality speaker - but you may find that you prefer the bassy sound signature from Sony
I’m so pleased that we are at the stage where that is a genuine answer for cleaning a speaker! 🕺 Back in the 80s, people would have been burned at the stake for suggesting such a thing
The best "hi-res"??? Under 100$? What kinda name for a video is this lol. I think this is the only speaker which has so wide frequency response from 50hZ-40.000kHz. I'm so glad ANKER did it! I had SoundCore Boost and now this SoundCore Motion+, with other models tried. One think i can say, ANKER rocks really. So low price for a speaker like that is a shame. Especially if you take a look for JBL for example. People pay for the brand name only, but with ANKER... you simply get all 👍
The title actually comes from an article that claimed the Motion+ had the best high-res sound under $100. I found this a really interesting hypothesis and decided to use that as a basis for the video: to find out if this was true. So that's how the video title came about! Sure enough, I agree with the claim - great speaker!
@@insidetechltd Yes! Amazing. I mean from a video it's not possible to hear how it sounds actually, it's a good point of how it sounds though. In real life, i'm hearing it almost every day. The sound is out of this world, no matter of both class and size really. All 👍 to ANKER. In future we can expect only the unbeatable beasts from them 🙂
That's very true. In fact a sound comparison in a youtube video (recorded on my mic, compressed by my software and then youtube and then played through your own speakers) is pretty useless. I only include them because people usually ask for this if i don't. Plus it can be helpful to give you an idea of the sound quality, or a relative example of it. But yes, Anker and Soundcore are really smashing it lately!
I wish that you could use one of the presets as a baseline and then adjust the custom EQ from that. Also a button to reset the custom EQ back to the default settings rather than needing to manually drag the sliders. But otherwise it is a nice addition!
Not worth the Blue-tooth headache. They just cannot seem to get it right. You will tear your hair out with this brand. I have two of their Motion+ speakers reviewed here and they are unreliable even with the latest firmware update

Still very good. Like most speakers, it sounds better at medium - high volumes, but still pretty good at low volume
Is it ok to use it while charging?
You might deplete the battery over long-term use, but it's ok to do this
Still the best bts to buy today for under $100?
I think so! I've not tested anything better yet
Nice and complete review ❤️.
Thank you!
JBL Flip 5, UE Wonderboom 2 or Motion+?
Motion plus
I bought two.
@@st-christian14 😨
Would you recommend charge 4, motion+ or LG pl7 for bass sound?
I’ve not tested the LG speaker fully yet, but for bass I’d go with JBL. It doesn’t sound as clear and crisp as the Motion+ - but it’s more bass heavy
@@insidetechltd Since everyone was bashing the charge 4 (my initial choice until I began researching) and I found motion+ for £70, I bought it to try out and it's pretty good - especially with custom eq - so I'm keeping it
I think you’re making a wise choice 👌🏼
Are these available at bestbuy target etc.....
I honestly wouldn't know - but maybe some of the U.S. viewers could comment. They're on Amazon though!
@@insidetechltd i always like to hear before making a purchase like the partyboxes by JBL and thanks.
"Android users will be able to benefit from higher quality streaming" THANK YOU!
I can't wait for mine to arrive tonight.
I hate apple. They are way too greedy.
I can appreciate that they made reasonable quality at a price far many more people can actually afford!
It's just a fact 🤷♂️
Can anyone comment on this speaker after many months of having it? Is the battery still providing the same juice as when brand new?
I've been using mine today and the battery is still performing just as well
The main thing I want to know in these reviews is whether its a mono or stereo speaker on its own
Each speaker is stereo on its own
If you did happen to purchase one I advise getting a second. Currently $70 on Amazon for Black Friday. I got one, decided I liked it enough to get a second. They sound amazing when paired up!
Is there really a delay when using aux cable, because I intend using it that way connected to laptop ?
It's better now than it was, just tested it again, but there is a tiny delay still. Most people wouldn't notice, but the eagle-eyed person would notice a small delay. If you're just using it casually it should be absolutely fine
Hello Inside Tech ..should I be going for motion + or Sony Xrs Xb41.. could you please help me out
It depends what kind of sound you like. The XB41 is a bass-heavy speaker and the bass thumps more than the Motion+. But the Motion+ has higher clarity and a wider soundstage. It’s objectively a better quality speaker - but you may find that you prefer the bassy sound signature from Sony
Sir which one is better tribit maxsound plus or motion plus..don't care about price.
Is that speaker amplified or not?
yes, its completely mobile. All you need to do is charge, connect to bluetooth, and press play on your phone
Saben si soporta carga rápida?
No, no lo hace
Great review. How about best under $300?
Nice idea!
Minirig.
Two of these.
0:45 music 🎶 name please
It's a track called "Ice Cream" - it's from UA-cam's audio library in UA-cam Studio
How to clean if it has dust build up inside the grill?
Just dunk it underwater!
I’m so pleased that we are at the stage where that is a genuine answer for cleaning a speaker! 🕺
Back in the 80s, people would have been burned at the stake for suggesting such a thing
Is it batter than jbl flip 4 ??
I think so, yes
Yes

What should i get .. motion plus or xb 33 sony? Help !!!
Motion+ for clarity/balance. XB for bass-focussed
Its not the best under $100 because its the best even under $180
Hope you will have it for me sir.. I dont have any bluetooth speaker🥺
thank.you..i keep supportin your channel.sir
I came here for the speaker but stayed for paramore....
Always 💚
I got one and it’s the truth
*sees speaker dropped into water, sees it float*
SOLD. SOLDSOLDSOLD... SOLD!
Nah definitely don't leave bass up on, use custom eq settings, 9 out of ten cats agree
I wish that you could use one of the presets as a baseline and then adjust the custom EQ from that. Also a button to reset the custom EQ back to the default settings rather than needing to manually drag the sliders. But otherwise it is a nice addition!
Agreed. Bass up constantly gets tiring. And, I run it with custom eq so I can punch up the high end for jazz and female vocals.
Русаки здесь есть?
👋🏼
Not worth the Blue-tooth headache. They just cannot seem to get it right. You will tear your hair out with this brand. I have two of their Motion+ speakers reviewed here and they are unreliable even with the latest firmware update

Me perdonas????
Jbl es lo mejor
Depende en la categoría. Este está a la par con charge 4 considerando que su valor es menor y superior a los Flip.
Saludos.
