Blizzard just slapped a "2" on a game update, remove things we already had, added a battlepass and called it a day.

Literally how most of the game industry is working currently, sony remastering 5 yo games and slapping them with the 70 $ price tag, blizz with wow classic and OW 2, call of duty cycling trough old mechanics from previous cods and calling them new features, riot with the shit moneygrab event passes and the list goes on forever, thank god there are still some indie companies that actually put some passion into their games
the biggest problem is not even the gameplay aspects, which are honestly really fun, and most changes like 5v5 are really good for the overall game
it’s the shop selling you old skins for 20$ a piece. it’s adding a pay/grindwall to new heroes. it’s a 40$ for 3 weeks beta (technically you get 3 battle passes with it, but the unknown potential content of the BPs throws this argument out of the window for me, especially after seeing the 1st one)
i’m not expecting them to do charity work, but it just sucks that the ONLY driving force behind this game is sucking money out of people’s wallets.

It had my sound options too from the first game. I played like 15 games, all the same maps. No changes to any of the heroes I played. I guess it was day time in King’s Row this time tho :D

Blizzard are actually geniuses. They took a look at the 7 Skyrim re-releases, 3 GTA V re-releases and decided to re-release Overwatch, only this time with a battle pass and a queue so long 90% of players will quit before realising IT'S THE SAME GAME!

Started playing in late 2018, up until 2020 was when I noticed the players became bad to worse. Covid made an influx of newbies.
I played since launch and stopped playing 2 years ago. In my opinion, things started to go downhill when they added Sombra. Before then the game was fun, but then they just kept added characters that stunned you, pushed you away, hacked you etc.
and then they thought that every new hero neds at least 2 types of stun or control. Because they thought to themselves that first person stun bullshit is so fun to expirience.
Right around the time that the NPC's who took over blizzard found out people were having fun. So they sent in the no fun nazi's to shut that shit down. That's what really made Jeff peace out of there. He was ordered to strip out the fun & he refused so they did it & made him watch. Why do you think he had that 1000 yard stare during that stream?
Not one week ago I would have been able to log into the exact same game without waiting for 40,000 players to be placed.
This kind of screw up is impressive.

Its really not a big deal. It's not like real life where you have to stand still in a line, you can pretty much do anything you want while you're queued.

I thought the zarya scene was just ow1 cause the queue times claim your 1st 2nd and 3rd born child so you can look at the menu

it's basically the same game because the devs have only really committed to working on pvp this past year. Their focus has been on PvE and since they were taking forever they decided to release the PvP portion to prevent the game from completely dying. The last time the game got real content was in 2019 I believe. The game feels a lot healthier like during the early OW1 days before CC spam and double shields. For those slightly interested I'd say give the game a chance and see for yourself if you like it
If I saw that loading screen and wanted a hour I would just play a diffrent game at that point.
In terms of the server waitlist, just switch to Europe or Asia if they’re that bad; literally no cues on those servers

I played few matchs, feel overwatch 2 is more like "patch" instead a new game.
What’s scarier to me are the people who are defending Blizzard for the layers upon layers of bullshit in this “sequel”. like they don’t even understand the fact that if you do the right math, if they just continued OW1 instead of stopping to make OW2 we’d have about 6 new heroes at this point. And not 3 with one of them locked in a battle pass so for ftp players it’s just 2 right now until they get to rank 55 whenever will that happen. So yeah, in terms of content OW1 is actually better than OW2. Let’s hope the events are not copy pasted and 90% of the team were working on PvE. Because when it comes to PvP I don’t see the “sequel” difference compared to OW1 because guess what? They didn’t work on it in the first place.

This launch was actually funny, it was unplayable even for us people who got into the game 2 minutes after it became playable on bnet so yall didn't miss much.
It is the same game but with an update patch, if you have ow1 you literally have to download a update. Your pc also recognize the game as ow1. Windows and discord say its ow1

Honestly i though OV2 is going to be a new game and when i saw OV1 replaced by OV2 in the launcher i already knew it's just a big patch applied on OV1.

OW2 is the same game. They couldve added the new heroes+maps and changed the heroes abilities, even the battlepass and ui changes couldve been added with a patch. I guess the "new game" and the "improved version 2>1" aesthetic would draw in more new/returning players and in turn get them more money than just updating OW1.

The intro was the same, too. I stopped playing Overwatch after its 2nd year. And came back to play this and saw nothing different. It's the same game. It's literally the same game.

I'll blame Vanilla WoW and it's players, Activision learnt with it that downgrading a current game (be it releasing an older version or plainly worsening the one out) was a business strategy and players would pay to play it again, so here we are. . .

I just love how people keep getting outraged at how bad blizzards servers are with every new release like its something new, its like with every new announcement people forget how bad almost every single blizzard release was the last 10 or so years. You would think that another terrivly overloaded server should be expected at this point
The sad part is. My account is eligible for the Founder's Pack.. I am playing on PC, so I didn't even needed to merge my account (so merge errors excluded). And yet I received nothing, even that they managed to fuck up. I have no clue how a company can fuck up checking the history of purchases of a product pre-June 2022 in the same account a game is launched.
Just, how, can you fuck up a simple database query and setting a flag from 0 -> 1. Unreal.

None of the new heroes are even that unique. Sojourn is just rehashed soldier 76, junker queen is just reskinned roadhog, kiriko is genji with a healing ability. pretty sad overall
I didn't even get into the game, it just crashed on launch.
