@@wmbrown6 Thanks for the correction used to listen to Gary a lot is he still in broadcasting? Sure saddened me to see WCBS go like i said in a comment o would listen to WCBS when i drove big truck s overnight they had great news coverage as well as great weather and traffic and sports coverage . So best wishes to you and yours and take care.
@@stevenbrennon9284 - My understanding is that Gary Maurer - probably the only Deadhead to be a newscaster - retired in the early 2000's, in his last years at 88(0) handling the overnight anchor shifts. He'd been with the station from within its earliest days as "Newsradio 88" in 1967.
What kind of mics were they using on the air? Love these historic videos. That's when news was phoned in, recorded, edited with a razor blade, put on a cart... I miss real radio!
Wow! Thanks for sharing this with us. It's a visual pleasure to see this footage.
Years after it was posted... is when I notice this.. and all the others.
Would like to see a upload of Harley Karnes and Gary Moore who worked.overnights at WCBS
You mean Gary *Maurer* now . . . don'tcha? How could anyone confuse him with Garry Moore?

What happened to Pat Carroll?
Pat is still doing our Raising Kids report but is otherwise enjoying life. I know we all miss her and wish her the best.
+Wayne Cabot yes definitely a voice I was familiar with and liked. I've been listening to CBS when it was News Radio "88". Great work!
