Thank you for addressing the issue of the Eagal. So many reenactors wear those as if they are common to all of the middle east or , a *generic* Headwear to the greater region
Lovely educational video. Nice to see the YT algorithm send me educational stuff instead of silly whining about Marvel films and crying about diversity. Good stuff mate, subbed!
This seems like a stupid question but did the ummayad caliphs always wear white turbans? As an artist I would like to avoid as much mistakes as I can while painting a scene. Another thing that came to my mind was about the yellow color/gold (I´ve read muslim men avoid that) since the later caliphs seems to have wore quite a lot of brocade... Thank you very much.
@@GoldenMiddleAge actually i m Indian, and muslim since Mughal Empire ruled over India! Nd here ancient culture are bit different then what we are taught in our religion 😫 I just love my prophet muhammad nd wish if I was from his land !❤️❤️😫😫😫😫😫😫😫😫😫😫😫😫😫😫😫😫😫😫😫😫😫😫😫😫😫😫😫😫😫😫😫😫
Turbans didn’t originate in Mesopotamia but among the Aryans in Central Asia. Tying a turban on the head of tribal chief was a common practise back then indicating transfer of power or kingship. It still happens in Afghanistan today. Pre-Islamic Arabs wore the igal and ghutra which is more suitable for the desert climate.
This is an interesting video, but it happens to be inaccurate on several details. The first is that turbans are only for Arabs or so called 'middle easterners'. For those of us who happen to be Muslims, ALLAH HIMSELF gives us an injunction in the HOLY QUR'AN, in Surah Ali 'Imraan to follow his commands in the QUR'AN and live the way of the Rasuul (saw). That way was universal and included a way of dress that carries with it great dignity and garners immense rewards from ALLAH TA 'AALA. As Islam is both QUR'AN and SUNNAH and given by ALLAH TO THE ENTIRE WORLD, those of us who love Deen bring both into our lives as COMPLETELY AS POSSIBLE. The three pieces of clothing he always wore were qamees, topi (or qalansuwa) and 'imaamah(turban). We believe as Muslims that rasuulullah wore black, white and even a slightly off white color and that all of those colors are allowed to ALL MUSLIMS TO WEAR REGARDLESS OF AGE, ETHNICITY OR CLASS OF SOCIETY. The belief that only 'descendants of the rasuulullah' (saw) may wear a black 'imaamah is baseless and has absolutely no proof in the Sunnah itself...OR THE QUR'AN. ALL MUSLIMS WHO LOVE RASUULULLAH (SAW) MAY CHOOSE TO ADOPT HIS SUNNAH OF LIBAAS AT ANY TIME, IN ANY PLACE AND INDEED ARE ENCOURAGED TO DO SO. THANK YOU...ASSALAAMU ALAIKUM WA RAHMATULLAHI WA BARAKAATUHU.
Beautiful culture, forever greatfull for continuing and expanding sciences when europe descended into the dark ages.
