My 2015 3.8 Rspec, bought it with 10k, love the car. It’s an enthusiast dream, no driver assist, no navigation, no big brother in your car tracking everything your doing. I’m old school, 73 years young, favorite past car was my 1969 427 vette, my Gennie is faster and handles far better, made a few changes to improve handling and performance. KN filter, new shift knob lowered about 2 inches, 245/265 Michelin tires, rear spoiler, and carbon fiber dash kit. Also rerouted the camshaft EGR system into a high quality catch can. I now have 56K on the car and no problems, but still do a CRC valve cleaning routine every 10k. Hyundai changed the syncros in the manual transmission to carbon fiber in 2014, so no more 2nd gear lockout. Hydrolic steering is rapidly being replaced with electric, but I love the feel of being connected rather then by wire. Track tuned suspension is stiff but I’m fine with it, limited slip diff is fantastic as far as accelerating out of corners. The seats hug you in place, you feel like you’re in the seat rather then on top of it. I hope to keep the car for many more years.

GREAT VIDEO!! I flew from Michigan to New York in December 2019 to pick up a 2012 2.0T R-spec 6MT and I couldn't be any happier with it so far! My previous car was a 1995 240SX, and I think the Genesis Coupe was the perfect vehicle to follow that up with.
So glad you did this! I have the same car but in black. Was wanting to see Some Genesis Coupe content from you. It's so cool that you're in Tampa too. Thanks for keeping up with your content even during these crazy times Joe!
Another great review Joe. A very under appreciated copue in its time. I'm really looking forward to the Coupe in Genesis development. Considering the performance from the G70 and Kia Stinger Gt series, a coupe would be a market bonanza! Keep these killer reviews coming Joe. Very much appreciated.
I just picked up one of these from 2010 with 100K, 3.8L, 6 speed Manuel, only 3000. Needed a battery, fuse box, grounds fixed, and an ignition relay. Great deal, great fun. Get one!
Klasse Act q60 is a way better choice in my opinion. Beautiful styling and a little more power if you’re going with the RS400. But we are comparing a ‘luxury’ car with a non luxury car. Hopefully Genesis the brand releases a luxury coupe , then I’m sure at that point they can be the better choice over the competitors
@@stevie421 I do agree with your points because they are true, sure enough but Nissan/Infiniti are just a dead.company IMO, nothing new in forever and I don't see them being around in 5 yrs and that's being generous. They made no real aftermarket parts for this car tho. The Infiniti has a plethora of aftermarket support and that vq motor is very reliable! The hyundai is okay tho...
Jayy_z33, there are a ton of aftermarket parts for the Gen coupe. ECU tunes, body kits, and a whack more. Just have to hunt for them a bit but there are companies carrying a lot for these.
Jayy_z33 I own a gen coupe, and Im happy to report that a lot of companies are starting to produce affordable mod options for the car now. Theyre still pricier to mod than a 370z but the mod list is definitely growing
Joe, you got it wrong...they started out w/ the turbo 4 and NA 6 and THEN....power was increased in both, without looking it up, I believe the turbo 4 made 274 and the NA 6 increased to 348, if I'm wrong, someone post the correct numbers. The refreshed Genesis coupe' looked GREAT🔥🔥🔥
I own a 2010 Hyundai Genesis coupe with a 3.8 and I can tell you right now it is one of the best cars and its class. I'm currently building mine on my channel
Just got my 2014 2.0t rspec 3 months ago, best car I've ever owned! That turbo engine is really underrated, 275hp and still getting 33+ mpg on highway road trips!
I’VE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS SINCE I SUBSCRIBED NEARLY A YEAR AGO 😭🙌🏽. Gotta love that 3.8 V6. Genesis needs to make a new coupe. Their new cars looks beautiful inside and out in my opinion but if they make another coupe, needs to really be sporty with that right balance of luxury
I've had my BK2 for a year now. I love it. Bigger tires, replaced the fake hood vents with real ones, bigger intercooler, bigger turbo, basically it's becoming a track car. I'd easily buy another one.
Very detailed in depth review. You now have a subscriber! I purchased a '15 R-Spec a year ago and have loved every minute of it. When I was researching bargain manual sport cars this beat out the 370z and FR-S. I bought mine for $16k with 56k miles on it with one owner. Had I gone the 370z route I could have paid the same price with 20k miles on it. I felt like at time the FR-S is underpowered. I like vehicles that aren't all that common and this accomplished it along with it's looks, which I really enjoy. I've autocrossed it twice so far and it's a blast. It's a good balance between power and handling. I had a '04 GTO prior with 350hp and even though technically the GTO has two more horsepower the acceleration is noticably faster on the GTO. But the Genesis' handling is so much better and the car is well planted, the oveeall driving experience goes in its favor. For a coupe the sightlines are great. My intention was to purchase a vehicle like this for relatively cheap and do some performance mods on it. Getting a little flack from the wife after the fact. Hoping to get an exhaust, intake, swap bars, risers, and a tune. I looked into an LS swap but that's 17k and I can't justify the cost lol.
Got a '13 v6 grand touring as my daily. This thing will keep up with my 5.7 hemi RT Challenger. I love it! At 51 in probably one of the oldest owners out there 👴. Lotta 20 something's own this car. Thanks for your review

The one Joe has is the Ultimate version. It replaced the "track" name for the bk2 models. Base model doesn't have certain things like 19 inch wheels, brembo brakes, and spoiler to name a few.
Not base model, base didnt come with navigation or leather seats, spoiler, brembos, 19 in wheels, etc. Hes driving the 3.8 ultimate. I know because I had a 2016 6 speed manual ultimate.
Bought 2010 3.8 model as CPO back in 2012 as my first fun car, and had a blast with no issues for 3 yrs of ownership. There has been a good amount of talk to bring this back using G70 sedan platform in Korea but let's see how things go.
They’re genuinely good cars. I’ve seen some on stock trans and motors with over 200k and even mine has over 130 and runs like a dream. No real repairs have been needed aside from a few minor things that were literally cheaper than a newer video game.
i’ve had a bk2 2.0t and a bk1 3.8 and fell in love with both of them. and i’m talking like a deep, emotional attachment, give your car a name kind of love 😂 i kept the 2.0t pretty much stock and it was one of the most reliable cars i’ve owned. i modded the 3.8 a little bit (tune, catback exhaust, cold air intake) and it did give me a bit of trouble but nothing big (radiator, camshaft position sensor, sparkplugs, etc). the 3.8 would gap any stock g37 and most stock 370s from a dig or a 40 roll. i love these cars. i would probably make it my life goal to own it if they made a bk3 gen coupe 😂
Fake vents are so dumb. Just stop. Either make them function or don’t put them on. The new Toyota Z4 is riddled with them. Despite the fake vents on this car, it’s pretty great 👍🏼
Last year I bought the 2010 here in Korea for $4,000. I still can't believe it was that cheap. We're talking leather seats, good sound system, reliability, and great acceleration.
The car was nice but the engines are 100% trash. If anyone wants details from someone who’s has hands on experience with these cars don’t be afraid to message me. I’ll answer all questions.

I was looking at the Hyundai Genesis and Honda Accord a couple of weeks ago. I ultimately went with a 2018 Accord Touring 2.0T because it had low mileage, newer and the original warranty but the Genesis coupe was my first choice. I just couldn't find a low mileage in my color and close to me.
I have the 2014 3.8 & had the 2013 2.0T but I wrecked the 2.0T 2 months back. I liked them both but TBH I liked the 2.0 slightly better & drove it more due to turbo boost & easier to weave through traffic. The 3.8 is more of a straight line driver not made to weave through traffic.

I came soooo close to buying a nice certified 3.8 r-spec instead of my Veloster N. I'm so happy with the N but you can't go wrong with these cars
You did well! You are so very right!
They need to revamp the genesis coupe. It won't be as fun of a car as the veloster n in its current iteration.
If Hyundai bring this back... Bring Back The Tiberon!!! I miss that car. I know the Veloster is supposed to be it's replacement but still.....
Good job at finding this one Joe! I enjoyed very much! Still waiting on that 2nd gen RX8 though🤪
That is a tough one to find. Let me savor this one for a few more days! LOL
I am so glad that I could share this one with you!
I just picked up one of these from 2010 with 100K, 3.8L, 6 speed Manuel, only 3000. Needed a battery, fuse box, grounds fixed, and an ignition relay. Great deal, great fun. Get one!
I'll tell you this...I'd take this Genesis coupe over the Infiniti coupe, not even close❗❗
Hyundai/KIA/Genesis on the other hand....the sky is the limit right now, they're on a roll🔥🔥🔥
The refreshed Genesis coupe' looked GREAT🔥🔥🔥
You're correct.
Genesis needs to hop on this 🙌 Their line up is screaming for a coupe.
I have a 2015 Rspec. I upgraded sound system , full exaust and intake, all LED lights and I love the Rspec seats.
Nicely done man!
I loved this car ever since I’ve seen Travis Scott’s music video for antidote lmao 🤣
Nice man!
Wow! I never knew it was on his music video until now! Thanks!!
I own a 2010 Hyundai Genesis coupe with a 3.8 and I can tell you right now it is one of the best cars and its class. I'm currently building mine on my channel
Very cool man!
Honda needs to bring the Honda Accord Coupe Back😭🙏🏻
This. Would like to see him review a 9th gen Accord Coupe V6.
Mohammad Siddiqui.....I know right, it would be really interesting.
Folks weren't buying it when it was here.
Imagine a new accord coupe with the exact engine of the type R with the same power and with a manual and the 10 speed auto 😋👌🏻
As an owner, it would be cool to see the newer car as coupe. It could be a modern Prelude.
I wanted to make sure I reviewed the right one for you. I hope it was worth the wait.
I've had my 2014 Genesis coupe 3.8 ultimate for 4 years now and I still love it!! Check out my channel, I've made alot videos on my genesis coupe!!
Yep, it's coming. But it won't be affordable :-/
@@Ezrabastian how much you think?

I've had my BK2 for a year now. I love it. Bigger tires, replaced the fake hood vents with real ones, bigger intercooler, bigger turbo, basically it's becoming a track car. I'd easily buy another one.
Thanks for sharing that great input from your ownership.
wow! I'm actually in the market for a used car and was checking out this model. Good timing Joe!
I am so glad that I could bring it to you!
This is such a good channel. Keep up the good work man,and be safe!
I can't do it without your support!
Yesss the coupe with a new Genesis front end ❤️
What do u mean?
@@giotheha9508 exactly what I said
Oh
I bought in 2009 a 2010 Hyundai Genesis Coupe 3.8. I still have it with 130K miles. Low maintenance car.
That is so very awesome! Thanks for sharing that!
Got a '13 v6 grand touring as my daily. This thing will keep up with my 5.7 hemi RT Challenger. I love it! At 51 in probably one of the oldest owners out there 👴. Lotta 20 something's own this car. Thanks for your review
Wadester P. Coletrain I’m an older 20 year old lol and I love it this car! Perfect daily driver for a sporty car. Mine is a 2015 3.8 base and the comfort and handling is perfect
I have a 2013 3.8 I'm currently trying to sell but I will forever be in love with this car ♥️
Thanks for sharing that great input Drew from your ownership.
Can I ask why are you selling, I’m planning on buying a 2.0t 2013 and I just need to know if it’s worth it
I'm on 124k with regular maintenance and daily abuse, can't complain.
I’ll take one of these over an frs all day
I'm going to be honest I was really looking into FRS, 86 or BRZ then I found the Genesis and fell in love with it I currently am driving the 2014 Genesis coupe 2.0T (I just really like messing around with boost on turbo cars)
@Big Ballah that's the plan rn I have a catback exhaust, intake and now just waiting on intercooler and AFR gauge and u should be good to go 🙃
@Big Ballah yeah I have it already ordered sorry but if I know anyone that's looking I'll let you know you can also go to Facebook and theres a group called Genesis coupe buy/sale parts
@Big Ballah well the only one for my car I could get was the turbo xs not many people build the IC for the BK2'S
@Big Ballah you too buddy
Thank you Joe. I’ve been looking at this for my next daily driver. I appreciate you doing the back seat. Good to know I can just take my kids in the back. By the time they grow up I probably won’t have this car anymore.
You really get a bang for your buck with this car, can’t wait to pick one up after I graduate
You will get one man! You can do it!
Hows the genny bro?
I have a 2013 2.0t and man I really love this car it’s so fun to drive
Yes! The car i’ve been waiting for!
I hope it was worth the wait!
Raiti's Rides it was Joe!
When I was looking to buy a car I was debating between this or the Infiniti g37 coupe. I ended up getting the g37 but I would actually love to see a head to head of those 2
Loved my 2010 2.0T
@Big Ballah true, needed the extra space. Still fun though!
Got a 2014. Premium. Identical in and out ( including Nav and USB). Only thing I don’t have are the Brembo brakes. Love it.
Yes bring it back Genesis!
AGREED!
Ooooooooooooooooh snaaaaaap!!!! It. Is. Go. Time!!!!
Congrats on hitting 250k subs Joe!!! You're killing it out there man!!!
Thanks Mario for saying that and being on this journey with me.

"The key fob...its got a little bugle on the back. So you can play Taps when you're freaking out." Lol oh man. Thanks for that little gem sir.
Holy molly, you finally got a Genny
Genny 3.8 is really awesome to this day. Drift monster. Awsome used value better than Gt86 ir BRZ and a better daily tha 370
Genesis should bring it back
Just brought one last week. Casablanca White, 48.9 on the clock, 9.2 condition. $16.995. Haven't really aired her out, but sweet whip! Shes got balls for sure.
Love my 2.0T! Get compliments all the time about it. However, she is far from stock nowadays!
I'm trying to get there
I have a 2014 2.0t and I couldn't be happier. 0-60 in 6 sec if done right. Same color on black. Got a deal for 3500 fin a friend who was moving and couldn't take the car! If you're curious about getting one, do it!
Since it was built on the Genesis sedan and IT was available with a V8, it would've been cool had they also offered the V8 in it as well. I mean it didn't bother me but you know some people are....gotta have a V8, GIVE IT TO THEM THEN💡
may i ask where you got the info it was built on the sedan chassis? As im pretty sure there is nothing in common

Damn Good Review Joe.... !! Hey did it remind u of the G70 3.3t 2019?☺
I never had forgotten about that car . . and YES, it should come back.☮️
The best one was the Genesis 3.8 Track. The one you have is the base 3.8L
You are so very right!
The one Joe has is the Ultimate version. It replaced the "track" name for the bk2 models. Base model doesn't have certain things like 19 inch wheels, brembo brakes, and spoiler to name a few.
J Wxlf
Gotcha. I use to have a TRACK. It was a white one and a really nice head turner back in the day.
They definitely need to bring this back. I see a hybrid powered model something like the NSX but ofcourse Genesis style.
That would be interesting!
They’re genuinely good cars. I’ve seen some on stock trans and motors with over 200k and even mine has over 130 and runs like a dream. No real repairs have been needed aside from a few minor things that were literally cheaper than a newer video game.
Thanks for letting me share this one with you!

i’ve had a bk2 2.0t and a bk1 3.8 and fell in love with both of them. and i’m talking like a deep, emotional attachment, give your car a name kind of love 😂 i kept the 2.0t pretty much stock and it was one of the most reliable cars i’ve owned. i modded the 3.8 a little bit (tune, catback exhaust, cold air intake) and it did give me a bit of trouble but nothing big (radiator, camshaft position sensor, sparkplugs, etc). the 3.8 would gap any stock g37 and most stock 370s from a dig or a 40 roll. i love these cars. i would probably make it my life goal to own it if they made a bk3 gen coupe 😂
Thanks for sharing that great info!
Well the 3yr/36k mile is up. They traded that thing in at 35,981 lol
Not even close. Hyundai offers a 5yr/60k mile basic warranty and the one that really matters10yr/100k mile powertrain warranty.
Sekekama WoW 😆
Another great review Joe!..thanks for keeping us entertain...and by the way this car is not too shabby 👍
Thanks Charlie! That really means a lot!
Fake vents are so dumb. Just stop. Either make them function or don’t put them on. The new Toyota Z4 is riddled with them.
Despite the fake vents on this car, it’s pretty great 👍🏼
I agree! Before the refreshed it the design was much cleaner.
Thanks for sharing that info Brian!
I bought my 2013 3.8 track new. 56000 miles on it. Never had any problems.
@@truthtella1641 doesn’t matter. You can have a lucky feather but the vast majority of these 2.0 and 3.8 engines have failures down the road due to poor design in certain areas. I work on these cars and make parts for these cars specifically.

I love watching videos of this car.
I use to sit in them when I would take either my SUV or 2012 Hyundai Azera in for service.
The exterior styling will last for years.
The things that the young people do to them is amazing.
The customizing of them to make it their own, WOW!
It doesn't need to return, its been replaced by the Superior G70

I own a 2012 Genesis Coupe 2.0T and i love it hands down!! First time i saw it was in 2010 and its the only car i ever wanted and i was proud to finally call it mine in 2016!!!
If Hyundai were to bring this back, just bring back the OG name “TIBURON”. That’s all they should’ve done since genesis took the name for the luxury line. @huundaiusa bring this back !
I own a 2011 manual 3.8 coupe and it is the best car ive ever owned considering all that i can and have done to it. Even stock though it was super fun to drive, Still own it, even talked my brother into getting one. He loves it.

Accord exterior and interior build quality is definitely much better, I think you made the best choice. (For daily comfort)
I had one( it was a 3.8 with an exhaust only) and I raced a charger r/t and I gapped it
I have the 2013 3.8 and I absolutely love it
I have the 2014 3.8 & had the 2013 2.0T but I wrecked the 2.0T 2 months back. I liked them both but TBH I liked the 2.0 slightly better & drove it more due to turbo boost & easier to weave through traffic. The 3.8 is more of a straight line driver not made to weave through traffic.
