- Dioni or else Tsimari or Flatland is a dreamy location in Greece right where the Acheloos river meets the ionian sea.
Thermal winds kick in from April unti the end of August.
The wind rarely kicks in before 3pm so this place is perfect for the late sleepers :)
- From Athens approximately 3:30 hours
- From Nafpaktos 1:20 hours.

When arriving be very careful of the sand dunes.
Your car can easily get stuck in the soft sands so don't take any changes.
The area has very poor internet coverage so make sure you have some emergency numbers if needed.
Off season you won't find many food options so pack accordingly. Expect thermal winds from 15 to 25 knots during the summer months. Anything above 25 knots would be a pleasant surprise.
Don't teach your buddies how to kite in the main lagoon. It's an unwritten agreement between the kiters of this spot. If you can kite you are welcome but if you are learning then go north to the wavy spot.
Always take your trash with you. There's no one coming to collect it so please leave the beach in a better state than when you arrived.
Make sure to stay until the sunset. You won't regret it.
