Thanks man. I got same with a aluboat, buster. Watching this, it was pretty easy job. Next time, when proper shop is near, I also put 45 jets. Now only cleaning. I had minimum tools available and no pressurised air. But works now.

I really want to thank you for giveing this advice my 40hp jet drive was really hesitating but i went an got some torch cleaning bits and drilled my jets to the next size of drill bit size its now running like a champ thank you somuch keep doing what your doing your real helpfull!!!!!!!!!!!

FYI, you can get those O-Rings for 49 cents a piece if you go to a hard ware store that sells them individually. I just bought 10 at the Do-It-Best Hardware store down the street from my house when I rebuilt a set of carbs on my Merc 50hp.

I am going to attempt to rebuild my carbs 2001 50hp yamaha, F50TLRZ have the exact same problem you had. Carbtuner comes this week and was going to order 4 carb rebuild kits. Seems like there is an upgraded kit from the original. 62Y-W0093-11-00 new kit from old kit 62Y-W0093-10-00 hope it has better jets or something in new kit. Also did you adjust the air mixture screws on carbs?
I have a 1999, F100, Yahama. Idle sneeze and trouble through 2-3k range. Had the carbs cleaned a couple times, nothing fixes it! Any input on a jet change for that?
That was awesome. Well done. I just purchased an 11' inflatable with a Yamaha 40hp 4 stroke that was shipped from Houston to my slip in Lake Tahoe (6200 elevation). The engine only has 34 hours on it. It will accelerate in neutral to 5000 plus but when in gear I cant get it to go above 2600 RPM and 6 mph. The boat sat for a year and the previous owner put in fule stabilizer. Does this sound like a problem with the jets or fuel filter or pump? Thanks in advance.
Your putting in jets from a small engine? Is that correct? Also I have a leaking float seal on the top carb, do I need to take all 3 apart and clean? I just bought this engine used. Seemed to be running good before the leak.

Hey man I’ve got the 02 F30TLRA motor. I’ve done my research and it looks like the only differences between the f30 and f40 is the main jet, the needle jet, and the bottom of the bowl, likely a small difference in the plunger but essentially the same thing. The idle jet is the same. For obvious reasons I want to increase power to at least the 40hp should I just replace the main jet to #108 or should I replace the needle jet as well. Would the #108 be too much? Or should I just go for the #95 jet? Please advise. Thanks

Hey mate, I just picked up an F40 and it has a leak from the plunger on the top carb. The boot/cap is broken on all 3 carbs but only the top leaks. Is there an internal seal that I should be looking at replacing or just the outer boot? Cheers!
Did you figure out why it was leaking ? Mine is doing the same. Others online are suggesting the needle valves aren't seal off... LMK if you got yours sorted.

I read it’s a restrictor plate between carb and engine plus a different ECU. If you do it let me know, have the F30 carb version and it’s same weight as F40

eric edic thanks for the video. I followed it exactly . I even bout the same carbtune you use and balanced the carbs really good, I have the same boat and motor. and could only get up to 12mph. i ran it with the cover off to see it the throttle was going all the way up and with the cover off it does 25mph! i put the motor cover back on and 12mph. take it back off 25mph.? then the third time i got it to climb to 25mph with the cover on but you have to move the throttle slow and climb slow I cant do a hole shot it will stay at 12mph at full throttle? it does idle super quiet and low speed moving around is perfect. I do think my rpms are a little high in idle but not bad. any suggestions ? thanks so much
Jim Nichols you should be able to see through it when held up to a light. the home is tiny but should be able to see through it. sounds like your is blocked. use one of the wires from a wire brush to open it.

what cleaner do you use? I read you have to be careful what you use or you can take a coating off the carb.

I didn’t mark my electric choke wires before I took my carb off. Anyone know how to determine which way to reconnect since they’re all the same color?
They're not 10 mm bolts, they're 6mm bolts with a 10mm head..... people might look up torque for 10mm bolts.... best to use proper verbiage please.
I have a question on the slow speed jet does it have a hole all the way threw it. I think one of mine is pluged.
