*The Panther’s resilience in the Korean War was truly remarkable! It wasn’t the fastest or the highest-flying jet, but its ruggedness and ability to keep flying after taking damage made it a hero of the skies*
The Hellcat wasnt used for ground attack. In fact it dropped fewer bombs and fired fewer rockets than the Wildcat or Corsair during WW2 by a huge margin. The Hellcat did however engage ground or sea targets in straffing runs as opportunity presented.
The opening sequence showing the Bikini test was incorrectly presented. Fact the Saratoga did not sink from 1 air dropped atomic weapon. It sunk only after a second underwater bomb was tested.
Impressive coverage of the Panther aircraft. I learned something new today. Very sad ending to the B29's. Definitely, not a fitting ending to such a storied aircraft. I enjoyed this video on this cold and rainy Saturday afternoon.
Interesting that the F9F had slow enough acceleration that they were able to take off the cat with the canopy open for pilot safety. Great video, especially the F9F
The info on the Bikini tests is inaccurate. There were two tests, an air drop and a shallow underwater burst. It was the underwater burst that actually did the bulk of the damage and created the radioactive spray. The footage shown here was also from the underwater burst, not the air drop.
The main difference between Vietnam and Korea is that Vietnam decisively defeated America, while the Korean War ended inconclusively. In both conflicts, the United Nations did not approve the military actions. Just as President Truman authorized American forces in Korea, Presidents Kennedy and Johnson did the same in Vietnam. The only consensus reached at the UN regarding a military intervention was for the Gulf War in 1991.
Incorrect. In fact if it had not been for the idiot politicians after the Tet Offensive the North Vietnamese and Vietcong forces were all but wiped out. However the politicians screwed everything up as usual instead of allowing the military to do it's job...so no Vietnam did not decisively defeat the United States...no more than the Taliban beat the U.S....Politicians the ilk of Biden and Obama will always screw over the military.
@sethpotter9592 I totally agree with your point. But correct me if I am wrong. Although LBJ widened the scope of the conflict, wasn't it during JFK administration that the first salvo was shot in Vietnam ?

They said enough, these vehicles aren't being made for the working people!
Nice video 🎬🏅
Thanks! 😃
I'm surprised that the Sabre vs Mig kill ratio of 10:1 was mentioned. That's an old figure, and has been revised over time.
Forrestal? Suicide? Like Hell.
The fuel tanks on the wing tips was not good idea at all seems like it will hinder maneuverability

what about the gen 1.0 UFOs made in U.S.A.
The video seems to show an air drop on operation baker. It was actually detonated underwater.

Not true. LBJ was the president that put combat troops in Vietnam.

So you're saying America surrendered to the North Vietnamese 🤦🏻
@frederickmalicki550 No! I am not saying that at all.
