Dad earned his B-47, B-52, B-36 "Observer" qualifications then served in a test squadron. After numerous missions in the blind B-47 nose. He struck for pilot and got it. His stories of flying acrobatic bomb lob missions in that very large for it's time aircraft, are the stuff of legends.
1970 I was 10 yrs old and my uncle Jack was on leave for Christmas, he piloted the F4 Phantom in Vietnam, I was in awe, still am. God bless the United States of America. 🇺🇸
An F4 with 2 drops and a belly full of sparrows and 'winders look like a DEADLY mach 2 sitting still, no contention on your choice just giving mine. They make a deadly duo tho. But both are thirsty marauders😳
2 J79s , Vigilante, Phantom, were some thirsty pieces of early high power jet engines. 4 of em??!!. OOH EM GEE!!!! Need to graft it self to a tanker if you do more than a few mins of supersonic flight.
Why are JATO and RATO always mixed up? JATO = Jet Assisted Take Off. RATO = Rocket (🚀) Assisted Take Off. I've seen millions of RATO called JATO, but I don't think I've ever actually seen a real JATO.
I crewed C-130’s and we never had JATO, even though most publications stated that. Our tech data had ATO references, the panel on the center pedestal was marked ATO, so even the manufacturers and tech data people didn’t agree with outside publications. Our airplanes still had the systems, but were never checked, and doubtful they would have actually worked.

Hustler was an ultimate machine...Perfectly designed

All beautiful planes, but something about the B58 Hustler, its got the looks.
The Hustler...the only aircraft that's looks like it's going Mach 2 sitting on the runway.

They are so powerful planes I like it
The B-47 among the best looking aircraft ever. The same is true for many of its other Cold War counterparts.
I've never heard so much positive talk about the F-111 as in the film included here. PR film?
hustler was in a fuel emergency at gear up

thanks McConnell

To upscale the video how much time does it take? Or... what is the average ratio of minutes to process one minute / one minute of film?
