Awwww... I wish there had been a 2nd video so we could've seen the little baby finally take its first steps and first much needed drink.
What a little sweetie though! 🥰

Maybe we could be a little kinder! But then every man I’ve ever dated has told me to zip it so I can relate. It’s just that I have so many awesome things to say! I came close to being able to being able to take the journey to Africa but for one reason or another I reminded my dad of my mother and he changed his mind and decided that he would not bring me with his new family. I haven’t been blessed with the finances that would accommodate even a minimum of a safari experience. So although it’s not the same, I have a bit of a way to live vicariously though you. May the God of this wonderful world continue to bless you with all this beauty and joy. You are truly a blessing and beautiful person. Much love.

MsDebbiB I've often wondered why there is such a stark contrast in the way the herd reacts to child birth. The herd will either crowd around the new baby and mother, or keep an extreme distance. I was thinking the same thing your are, and that is maybe the mother sometimes send signals to the herd that she needs her space and wants to be alone with her new baby. I adore elephants.

I love the way you explain everything. The baby is so cute. Funny that she doesn’t chase you game rangers away! Brilliant video. Ronelle

Had to turn the audio off half way through. There is no need to fill the audio space full of human commentary.

She forgets the obvious reason for standing is so that the baby can nurse. It will get stronger with each feeding.

This had nothing to do with humans. I was watching this live Safari before they went to a special video to show others this baby. This is the video you're watching. As soon as the mom stepped off the placenta, she was trying to mask the smell that predaters might smell, the baby died instantly. It had been keeping the baby tethered and that's why it could not stand up well or walk.

I saw another video where they explain it a little more can you link that video i forget what video it was, this is a true tragedy that was a strong baby to go i think the other video said 10-4? or 3? i forget but it was a long long time with nothing but dehydration and heat... i felt so bad.
