Bow Series #2 - Basic bow distribution

This gives basic information about how to learn to control bow speed and where in the bow you are playing. It's intended for beginners, but has some good tips for anyone coming back to cello, or for players who are examining their bow technique more closely. Two different exercises are demonstrated and shown in the pdf. You will want to know about the detache stroke (see Bow Series #1 first). What type/Brand Rosin do you use? Mine is very powdery and heavily coats my strings every time I play. Thank you!

I use a brand called Kolstein. It's a bit sticky and it grips a lot, but it's not powdery at all. You can buy it in a lot of places, including directly from them. It looks more expensive than some, but lasts for YEARS. I put dates on my rosin boxes (!) and the 2 I have right here say 2012 & 2016 and are still going strong.
