I'm glad you liked the song! This is a one off theme for a hidden phase of the final boss. The other tracks are mostly an ambient stage themes that break down into battle themes. They're all great but this one is the cherry on top and my favorite 🙂. This game is fantastic.
@@rinnnnnnnnnnrinRinOnishi well its basically if you make it to the third phase of the final battle which you only get playing the boss on its 'hardest' difficulty
@@beelzebub33 what do you mean like there's only two phases for you? 1st and 2nd phase are normal except Cerberus makes a cameo appearance in 2nd. 3rd phase is basically identical to second except the stage is very very dark so hard to see and maybe slightly faster
This song basically: Darren Korb (composer): i just finished the song for the final boss, i really went all out, nothing can top that Devs: actually we are planning to add a third phase Darren: ... Got it.... *Calls up two japanese guitarists*
I could be wrong about this but I remember someone saying the in game description of the song is something along the lines of “banned for having too many notes per second”
Yeah. The you can unlock the music in game and the description says "It was banned in the underworld for having too many notes" or something of the like
That’s something that Hades got damn right. The final boss Hades was, in my opinion, the hardest part of the run every time. And it makes sense! And this music just tops it off. 🔥
Top down action game. Basically this plays when you've met certain replay requirements (game gets harder per replay beaten) and final boss is pulling out ALL of the stops throwing everything INCLUDING the kitchen sink. The stakes are high there and the music plays it.
This masterpiece is a duo, played by Masahiro Aoki and Daisuke kurosawa, with God of the dead by Darren Korb in the back. Hades is one-of-the-kind top-down roguelike, mostly based on story, but with amazing soundtrack and game design
As someone already mentioned in the comments, this is a theme for a hidden phase of the final boss. That way it was somewhat meant as a crazy, shreddy version of the original theme for the final boss called "God of the Dead" which would be great to react to as a comparison. Apart from that, my favourites would be "Scourge of the Furies" and "The Exalted", but the entire soundtrack is a banger, and I revisit it on a regular basis. And the game is for me the best action rougelike ever to be made, undisputed 10/10.
It's music for the unlockable stage 3 of the final boss. It's the final part of the fight that goes from part 1: you think you can beat me? ok i'll toy with you for a bit. Part 2: ok you're good, maybe i'll start trying. Part 3: you're my equal or better. Now i've got to use everything i've got, dirty tricks and all. 'Let us fight as Gods do'
I'm kind of disappointed he wasn't requested to listen to all three parts of God of the Dead in order. The Unseen Ones, while absolutely magnificent, just doesn't hit quite as well in a vacuum whereas when it is played after God of the Dead Part 1 & 2 those two already incredible themes magnify this one into true god tier levels.
Adding to what others have said, to put it a little more bluntly: this is literally the second half of the final boss theme, but with two guitar soloists going nuts on top of it. They literally specifically brought in two extra guys for this one track just to go ham on it.
for a good hades track, try Lament of Orpheus (Underworld Mix)! oh, and in the game's own song library the description says "Banned for having too many notes per second!" The song was written by Darren Korb and performed by Masahiro Aoki and Daisuke Kurosawa!
Transistor was sorta designed with the music in mind as the story revolves around a singer and such its a really interesting concept for the game its self.
The King and The Bull is the one song I’d recommend listening to as well, since no one mentioned it in the comments. My favorite battle music from this game right after The Unseen Ones.
This song is the reward for accepting and surviving the ultimate challenge of beating the game and kicking the god of hell's ass to the extent that he's willing to show you everything he has
Another great one of your old videos that I somehow missed, and for an amazing song to boot! I hope you have played this by now truly. For me this game along with another one literally redefined its genre, proved that modern indies can be far better than any AAA title out there, and furthermore has an absolutely phenomenal soundtrack, atmosphere, vibe and overall epicness. Plus the story, narrative and characters were insanely good as well ! Needless to say I hope you have finished this game by now, and if not you have NO CLUE what a GEM you are missing!!! Also PS : Just listen to the whole ost already on this channel if you still haven't. There is no way in hell you will ever regret it.
The two who do most of the hades sountrack (Darren Korb and Ashley Barrett) actually preformed with Imagine Dragons at the game awards last year. Which was unbelievably cool
My personal experience of this song: Oh thank god, I beat it.... A THIRD PHASE???? Then the inevitable instant death lol, but I can barely hear this song when I get this far because I'm white-knuckling the controller the whole way through and my blood is pounding in my ears. Most players never hear this song because it's reserved for the end boss fight's hidden third phase that only appears if you play on super extreme hard mode. It's not necessary to play through the story, but oh boy was it a reward.
The Game Awards has an orchestra performing an OST mash-up for the nominees for Game of the Year. Poor bastards had to mash-up Hades AND Doom AND Final Fantasy 7 AND god damn Animal Crossing. (oh and also The Last of Us Pt.2 I guess) But it goes HARD bro. Love your genuine reaction! While playing the game it can get a bit... Hard to recognize how much of a banger a lot of the tracks really are.
I was not prepared for the start of this track, and I've even heard it before! Normally, in game, this has more build up in preceding phases of the boss, but this just jumped to maximum.
Subscribed purely for mentioning Trivium. I've been listening to them since Acendency. I love how Matt's voice sounds and how well the band meshes. You should react to Good Riddence from Hades. with both singers if you haven't already. It's amazing.
I know year old video and all, but wanted to say thanks for the recommendation of Trivium - The Crusade. Absolute banger of a song. I didn't see it going through your list so definitely recommend "The King and The Bull" from the Hades soundtrack.
I will suggest something outside FFXIV for once - NieR Replicant version 1.22 the song "Song of the ancients - Fate". There's a long story to this song and the games it is in, but suffice to say it was played at the Olympics (orchestral version)
listening to the hades soundtrack if you've played the game is always such a fun balancing act between the urge to headbang vs the immediate flood of adrenaline that comes with the muscle memory of getting your ass kicked repeatedly. 11/10 would let the final boss kill me again. 😌
God I love this song, if you want kinda similar vibes, Guilty Gear's soundtrack is amazing. My personal favorite is between "Let Me Carve Your Way" and "Heavy Day", but other great songs include "Alone Infection", "Love the Subhuman Self", "Roar of the Spark", and many others!
