      @@NeuronalAxon on something called an inverter board..there were 4 capacitors gone..not short ...just all of them about half the capacitance they should be ..and swollen on the top..cost me about 2 pounds to get new caps..and boom i had the thing in pieces down to the led tubes..and thought its never gonna work...when i put it back together switched on and it came on immediately...

      learned a lot about caps...i put in a couple that were higher voltage and it worked...key is not to use lower voltage or lower capacitance...try to get capacitance the same ..and voltage same or else higher..never lower or they will pop.

    Hello i just wanted to let you know i had a similar problem and from my experience on the uper side lcd connector there are 3 capasitors and on top of them there is a condactive sticker-tape from the manufacture and when you try to connect the lcd to the board fpc with your finger if you dont be carefule you also press that condactive sticker to the 3 capasitors and you get a short. So if you the sticker stops touching the capasitors the short also disappear. Love the videos ! Take care.

    Hi im fairly new to smd repair and i wanted to know how to you diagnose motherboards that not powering on but not reading a short? Example I have a galaxy tab 3 thats not powering on, the battery is okay when i connect the power supply (5v ,2amps) to battery connector on the board im only getting a draw of 140mil amp which keeps fluctuating. I am lost

    At 23:00 when you supply 4V to to power connector, it looks like your beefy probe is touching the outer shell case of the connector socket, which is most likely grounded. So I believe you are supplying 4V to the ground, pulling over 2A and thus misleading you to thinking there is a short when you are shorting it yourself with a probe.

    Super stuff Sorin , thank you so much for making these videos. What I would like to know as well is how much is it ok to ask for certain jobs. I know you are in UK so obviously the prices will be made for UK but still is there any possibility that you could share some approximate pricing for certain jobs ? I am not saying you have to share your price list but just approximately. I may start my business at some point in Eastern Europe and this would help me a lot. Thank you

    Hi sorin, please explain more about power rail on mobile board and laptop Mainboard pleaseeee, what is the power rail, most of the time you are talk about that, but you are not explain what is the power rail. You said at 1:24:20 this dot is main power rail, but what is exactly main power rail??. Thnx

    • @dragan059
      @dragan059 5 років тому +2

      Power rail is conductor line with the same voltage. Phrase "power rail" came from electric train transport. Rail is a ground, and power rail is wire with high voltage above train. Main power rail is basic voltage from whom every other is created. 19 V for laptops, 3,7 V for phones.

    Good morning Master Sorin!
    I bet the guys just shorted a track +v under the first layer of the pcb with a wrong long screw on those screw holes . Thats a common fault for apple devices.
    We must be carefully with the screws when assembling the phone together again.

    thank you very much sir. I'm from Africa Bénin. I learned a lot from you. I have one question: I am repairing a toshiba l550. the problem with this laptop is that after the second mosfet there are no 19 volts. I made a bridge to jump the second mosfet. now all the voltage is present: 5V 3.3v . there are 3.3 v at the power button and at the bios level but the pc goes off and off. how cant i fix it?

    • @runthomas
      @runthomas 5 років тому +1

      maybe there is 19v......but it is getting shorted to ground...so it looks like zero volts.....you have a short circuit on one of the electronics that feed off the 19 volt rail
      test with power supply after second mosfet......AND WATCH THE VOLTAGE DROP FROM 19 VOTLS...LImit the current and then find out what is gettin ghot....

    Tip for iPhone repair. ..... All of the screws are the same length. Once you put them in the board. Let them drop into the hole, if they sink up to the head they are too short. If they stick out more than a mm, they are too long. All screws take as many turns to tighten up. More than three full turns and it is too long.
