am i the only one who really enjoyed this scene? i really like how they re-created belle's iconic dress w/c really fits to belle's low key character, she doesn't need an extravagant yellow dress, this one really fits her simple yet elegant personality
for some reason, I just hated how lacking her dress was. Comparing the Cinderella remake to this dress, Belle's dress could have been far more grand. Oh well. The dance stole my breath away, but her dress just didn't impress me :(
Is it just me or does the beast seem awfully stiff while dancing? Then again Dan Stevens had to wear a bulky muscle suit and they had to animate him and stuff. Either way that set is gorgeous!
okay yall for those hating the dress, sure maybe it wouldve been better to have a bigger one but the designer said they wanted the dress to dance along, so the dress would move smoothly and softly, its very pleasing to the eyes. some live action disney princess's gowns are so bulky when they dance theyre like robots. so appreciated what u got and what this whole team gave u. better than nothing, geez.
people going on and on about how historically accurate the costumes were and Emma saying how iconic the original gown is yet she has her say in the design process to change it so completely that it neither looks historically accurate or like a dress for belle. simple doesn't mean plain. also, Emma only grasped one side of Belle's personality. her WARMTH was not there at all.
when i first watch this scene in the movie.. i was mesmerized and i immediately fell in love with this dance scene, felt like something in my heart melted.. for a moment i forgot that belle was dancing with a beast or a non-human form.. thats how amazing and magical this dance scene was and this song was, makes u forget that this pretty lady was dancing with a goat like creature.. lol
The dress could've used some of Cinderella's Fairy God Mothers magic, don't you think? The dress looks flat..

for me, the cartoon was better with clothing and animation, but the storyboard and everything else was better here

I'm a 25 year old man and I am not ashamed to say that tears flowed on this scene.
I watched the old beauty and the beast like 5 times and I've yet to see the new one, but I like this version of the song
