the same happens to me, I'm never sure how soon it goes from the normal 10-15 minute length videos to the 4+ hour streams on vod. Part of me thinks UA-cam know you've fallen asleep from the number of videos that multiplay so it switches to longer content to reduce how much is paid out (I'm guessing a 4 hour stream vod doesn't pay 12 times more than a 20 minute video to the creator)

On UA-cam streams, an ad just wipes the smile off my face for a few minutes. On twitch, I got so mad that I uninstalled the app in like 2016 and have never opened it since. That’s how bad the experience is.
@@just_UwU_ing that's not how it works. to actually grow and gain visibility you must be consistent. On UA-cam during the 9 years I was semi-active I got between 3-5 views per video with a few oddballs getting more, now I average 10-20 with about a quarter of my videos uploaded getting 50+, and that's because over the past year my consistency has become a LOT better. you cant post a video of a wall and expect it to blow up.
As someone who doesn’t often interact with chat, UA-cam’s far superior video player makes me use it for streams more often. Especially since I have premium and can use it to play with my phone turned off.

personally I prefer youtube because it is more “simple” and transparent where twitch pushes me off by puting a lot of pressure on monetization because wherever I look on any strim I see “subs, bits, gifts, points etc” and not to forget about the rewinding option which is a deal breaker when twitch stream sudennly decides to freeze and then show me an error so i lose plot damn it
Im really happy you show these numbers! Its rare for people sharing. I enjoy youtube for the convenience, but always prefered twitch for its live stream experience (Community)
I wanna genuinely thank Charlie for this info, as a small streamer I find twitch much easier to earn on as it's much easier to grow on it, probably because all of the interactions and engagement are much higher on twitch, I did start multi streaming to twitch and UA-cam as of very recent, and noticed that UA-cam streams are much much harder to get views on, I will try to grow on it now though, and make it so both platforms bring something good, very valuable info here, this man knows his shiz, thank you again Charlie, sending love from Croatia 💜
Sleep watchers could help contribute to some of those bc I sleep watch your videos sometimes I know it may sound weird out loud but your voice is weirdly calming so sometimes just hearing you talk about a game your playing and interacting with chat helps me fall asleep and then it plays for the rest of the night not being clicked off until the next video and then auto play recommending another one and boom now do that every night for a month and have that times a bunch of your subs on YT doing so but that’s just a theory a moist theory
Dude, you earn from one of your stream/ VOD more than what I do in several years. Heck, that one highest revenue is something I can't even earn in a decade.

The reason I use UA-cam over twitch is just because my internet doesn’t like it, when I stream on UA-cam my connection is secure, no lag, very smooth, but on twitch I get about 2 frames if I’m lucky
It’s his most paid stream not like every time he streams for 4 hours he makes 80k and even if you jumped 10 years ago if you didn’t get lucky you would make 0
@jskyler5422 Open any twitch game category and keep on scrolling. All these 99%+ streams with 0-10 viewers would be probably you. I'd argue it's easier to win a lottery than starting a streaming career now, unless you are really good at a game or extremly entertaining, which nobody would even know, because nobody would check on a 1 viewer stream.
I actually don't believe it does, my fiance tends to stream regularly and her watch time is rarely high for any of her vods unless its myself or her to find timestamps going back to rewatch for clips and such or one of her regular viewers looking for clip moments
This doesn’t just apply to large creators too. Structuring your streams as VODs on UA-cam is fantastic. As a channel that just hit 20K subs, my largest livestream still made 1.5K. Just one stream out of so many more. It’s watch time that matters, not even viewership.
I literally have no idea why but I always watch youtube while I sleep. I've been doing that for like 3 months and I've woken up to one of your youtube vods pretty much every morning. It is so confusing how you manage to haunt my autoplay feature
I don't currently multi stream but have looked into it. I will say that the UA-cam vod's are insane, some of my vod's make a difference on income from UA-cam Adsense. It's nice to also see Charlie be very transparent about his analytics, it's really interesting to see the analytics
I open Twitch, open a stream, see an ad, close the app/browser and do something else. UA-cam is king. Twith chat comunities are embarrassing anyway. Thank god for multi-streaming
This is great advice ! But $20/month, which streamlabs wants in order to let you multistream, can be a pretty steep subscription in the phase where streaming is “just a hobby” :/
I was a little confused why Ludwig was refusing to multi-stream. It kinda makes sense now. He wants to maximise his live viewership on twitch cause he can make more money and then just upload the vod to youtube.

Bro it'd take me a little over 3.25 years to earn the same amount as his one stream 😭💀 That's on a salary that'd be considered in top 5% in my country.
I imagine the vods make so much because of people falling asleep to UA-cam, I couldn’t tell you how many times I’ve woken up for school and your streams are on, the same streams too I’ve “seen” your dark souls 2 vods probably hundreds of times while I was sleeping
the same happens to me, I'm never sure how soon it goes from the normal 10-15 minute length videos to the 4+ hour streams on vod.
Part of me thinks UA-cam know you've fallen asleep from the number of videos that multiplay so it switches to longer content to reduce how much is paid out (I'm guessing a 4 hour stream vod doesn't pay 12 times more than a 20 minute video to the creator)
You can turn off autoplay, just so you know.
