- This is a quick simple review of the super affordable WiFi smart plug from TP-Link. It works really well and the Tapo app is really responsive.
Tapo P100 works with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant.
Sorry for the shaky hands and my English. Do let me know any feedback for this video below. - Наука та технологія
That timer and schedule to turn on and off is what sells it for me. Great for radiator to turn off during the night or morning. Thx for the video.
Wow. That thing’s amazing. Cool little gadget. Great vid! 👍
I need to come up with a way to start a hot water circulation pump by voice using a google device. The pump only needs to run for a couple of minutes. Can I use the timer feature to shut off the connected device after two - three minutes?
i have a few of this as well. Had been using for a month. But i keep having timezone not sync issue(difference by 2mins behind daily). Did contact TP-Link about this, what they recommend is just to reset all my smart plug, or set to a different timezone and set it back to my country timezone through the KASA app(which i happen to their light bulbs). But after a few days later the same problem comes again.
Got these smart plugs smart lights and CCTV outdoor camera yesterday in the prime Day sale they are so easy to set up also you can just ask Alexa to turn on your lights and check your CCTV camera I have the echo show and it's good to view the CCTV camera on the show rather than your phone 👍
lets say that the wifi and internet also the phone is down.. does the plug still does the schedule.. ??
Very good solution for controlling by App. I love it
Can we add a remote to activate this plug , as I need to install some behind the sofa and bed headboard??
I am trying to us the plug with the connection to my TOTO lateral bed turner. Is ther any reason why it would be incompatible?
I have a question if someone could help me.
If I set up the devices in the UK (UK time) and then travel to USA and open the App, how does the timings work? is it still UK? or does it use USA times?
Thanks for your help in advance.
Can you group sockets so that they all come with one command?
these are really interesting and could have a lot of potential, especially if combined with google assistant.
The only concerns I have are to do with privacy and security, since this is open to the internet
Very useful video 📹 👍 thanks 😊 & good luck to you
I just bought this today 😍 Have not configured it yet. Watching your video as preview 😄
If the main switch is off it will remember setting?
No need to reconfig the app right
I would use timer to charge my phone. let's say I would like to charge my phone but not to 100%. If my phone normally charges in 1hour and 30 mins, I would set the timer to one hour. I think this is how I am gonna use. Thanks for the detail review. Great content
Great idea
Hello.. Do you think this is ok to use for coway or cuckoo?
posted 3 years ago. Has it been in use for 3 years? Is it still working. 3 out of 10 I've used for a year have died.
Can you control the plugs when away from home just using the app?
I had 3 of these die on me in the last month. They turn off and never turn back on again. Cannot be reset with the physical button on top either. Never had a problem with Kasa versions.
Can you connect devices on to the p100
Love to know the range of WiFi the plug has to the home modem. As I want to use in shed.. But modem inside house. Dose box have a range on it
Sorry for the 2 year delay. It's WiFi range is wank
How do you group smart plugs
Really solve my problem that i keep to forget to reset router it great i bought 3 of it for my router problem solve
Don't have to manual reboot it even i know you can run router 24/7 but after long run sometime it will start act strange reset fix it and with this Smart Plug all i need cheap and get work done.
can you turn on and off when you are overseas?
Very nice video, but what about the most important feature: besides my local wi-fi, can I also turn it on or off using the Internet (away from home)??
yes you can
These plugs doesn't seem to be accessible in the Tapo App when the Internet goes down even if the WiFi Router is still "on". So there is no LAN Control mode. As soon as the Internet goes down, I always get "Unstable Network" message and the plugs disappears from the App. If I re-run the Tapo App, I will then be asked to log in into the TP-Link Cloud but I cannot because there is no Internet. Is this normal?
does harmonogram on/off works when internet is offline?
HI All, Can you please advise. Can I use it from different locations? and it will be still interactive with my home device?
MY Android Tapo amp warns me - 'this can't be used remotely' which I assume means the answer to your question is no.
can it be controlled from outside home? if I'm on data or another wifi network?
yes
Sir. will it be okay using it to turn on and off our router? which is our main internet connection?
Yes
As silly as this question is what does 'fireproof' mean exactly for a wall plug made from plastic? Will this device short itself before it gets close to becoming flammable or something?
There are some plastic additives that don't burn and will actually "self extiguish".
On the box for the UK version of this device it states that it is "Flame Retardant" rather than "Fireproof".
Hi, can the On timer still working if WiFi off? I am consider to use this to control my WiFi router and modem. Thanks.
Same question I have. I hope someone can answer this.
@@wilbertng same with my question, in order to refresh my router everyday
@@rnyzen2.079 Was able to test this. The timing schedule in the Tapo P100 will continue to work as long as there is power coursing through the smart plug even if the WiFi Router is turned off.
It's really good smart Wi-Fi plug by TP-Link
You asked for the use case on the timer.
I've got an unreliable point-to-point radio - I'm gonna use this to turn off the poe injector, leave it off for 5 minutes, then turn it back on again.
I’m going ti buy this specifically to charge my phone at night, lol. It’s currently 3:17am and I want to sleep, but my phones is currently 19% and I also need the alarm. I just want to charge my phone without having the need to risk damaging the battery if I left it charging overnight.
My Tapo P100 will turn on/off a small light no problem/ However, when I connect it to an extension cable it will turn off but not back on again. I am using well less than the 13 amps limit BTW. Does anyone know the solution to this problem?
Actually looking at the questions below I now have my answer. It's because it operates over wifi and my extension connects to my router. With the router off it can't be turned on again.
woah thank you…I have same question just like you
Can this item use by Bluetooth only ?
bluetooth is used for seting up the device it uses wifi after the setup process
Can this handle 1.5 ton AC?
It's specified at 13 Amp, but see my question above.
"Actually"
I know right?
Please contact me if you need a similar products supplier. Thanks.

If the user would know how to use it! 🧐🧐🧐😩😩
The fact it only works on 2.4 Ghz is useless most routers work on 5ghz.
Dealing with an Internet provider you can ring them and ask them to manually split your router to detect 2.4 and 5g settings .They can do it over the phone for you foc.Alternatively you can log in to your router,go to manual settings, and do it yourself. So technically they are indeed useful!
@@peterreidy1011 Not with Talk Talk ive in touch been with their tech dept and it can`t be done.
