- I picked up the Tapo Smart Plug on Amazon so figured I'd unbox it, set it up and give a quick review! It works with both Alexa & Google Assistant so it's handy if you're invested in both ecosystems!

I've got 3 of these plugs there really good have mine for lamps set on timers makes life so much simpler x

Can you set the lamp to turn on multiple times in a day? For example, to turn on for 15 min twice a day?
Does this mean you have remote control via the App with your Cell phone when not at Home ?
Can you control this without WiFi? If you program the controls and turn WiFi off will it still work?
Yes, you can automate you’re plug and if you’re offline it will still run however if the plug is disconnected from wifi it won’t work.

So Does that mean you have control with your Phone when away from home .with your cell phone?
Can you set it to turn on for 15min three times a day??? I wanna use it for my hydroponic systems.
yes you can however you need to dig deep into the app for it to fully work and sometimes it could error, so you would instead use a separate app if an error occurs

Do you need to download the tapo app? Or I can I do all the setup within the Google home app?
Need the app to setup initially but once it's done you can use fully inside Google Home 😁

as long as your on mobile network or wifi
Hi, yes it does! You can also add it to Google Assistant and Alexa and control it outside the home that way and even if you use Homebridge you can add it to HomeKit too!

Yes, you can on basically any big platform including the fire tablet
Can I setup this plug using kasa app ?
No, however you can connect the tapo devices to samsung smartthings and also connect the kasa devices to samsung smartthings, then delete both apps and just use the smartthings app or you can buy the kasa mini plug

no however if you get the tapo p110 it can monitor energy and how much you’re spending on you’re electricity bills
Sadly no! But I think some of their more expensive models do.

Can you group multiple plugs together?
you cannot group them together however you can make a routine to turn on a few devices at once

I have successfully grouped two together for two lights in my fish tank. Connected to Alexa, so I just tell Alexa to turn fish Tank lights off and they both go off.

Hi, it's 2.4ghz only, during setup that's important but after you're setup doesn't really matter in my experience 😃
If so How do you get it connected every we’re I look it says you need to change to 2.4gz on a duel router

How do you schedule on and off sequence. I set the Time and days but doesn't work?

There is an app for iOS but sadly no HomeKit support that I can see!
there is a new plug that supports homekit, it is called the tapo p125
13 amps on 240 volts is about 3 Kw max.

it can only automate a school’s bell if the school’s bell turns on when connected to power, the tapo plug only turns on or off the power to the plug connected to the tapo plug meaning it must turn on if the bell turns on by power
