I'm off out again tonight, off to the Pentlands once more, but a different hill and a different hill-fort this time. This time, I've been taking your tip about using bowlines and toggles to attach your guylines to your tarp. Thanks for all the tips, as long as I've been doing this you can always learn and try something new. :)
Forget the timber hitch, use a taught line hitch or a trucker's hitch and you can tighten your line up super quick without needing a carabiner. Besides, a timberhitch is not the best for setting up a guyline.
I typically use a taught line or timber hutch on the guylines. The timber hitch was solely for the purpose of showing this little carabiner trick. Good shout on the truckers though bud ✌️🌳

@@farakanna Yea, no problem. I use to use carabiners all the time and then once I began to learn a ton of knots, I never needed them anymore.
