31:00 Mutli-shot does NOT hit the same target multiple times. If it did it would be the best boss killing attack in the game. Try to shoot a multi at point blank, it will only hit once per target. And as for Immolation arrow, you should have clarified that Immolation Arrow isn’t good BECAUSE it has a cooldown on it. Its fire damage is technically higher than exploding, plus it has damage over time from the fire field, but because it had a preset cooldown you cannot fire it as fast as your other arrows, which is the reason why it isn’t good. Overall a nice guide for the builds, but you should probably clarify more points like this to make sure people don’t get the wrong idea about why bad skills are bad. I only know this because Bowazon was the only character I’ve ever beaten single player Hell with.
Good to know with multishot! I haven't run a multishot zon in a while so I couldn't remember. And ya immolation arrow is just meh because of that CD. I'll try to note those things in the future :)
What Multi-shot does is increase chance to hit, as if one arrow misses another one connecting with the targets hit box may still hit, as far as I was told.
This is something I’m glad they changed in Path of Diablo, it has no cool down so it fires as fast as your bow can, and the fire pool stacks and can shred bosses fast.

I rediscovered Diablo 2 to maintain sanity and after watching your guides the game has really come alive for me again. Thanks! I'm getting back into Diablo 2 after some years of PoE and this helped a lot. Especially some game mechanic info that I couldn't find anywhere else, like how much dexterity I wasted trying to raise my attack rating on my freezing arrow build, or how many points I wasted in Critical Strike, etc.

Unfortunately a Bowzon is a rich man's build, to really push her beyond you're always gonna need a +3 faith gmb, wf is a good second but the two aren't really comparable and even a wf is super pricey in and of itself. Then javazon if you wanna go long dong you gotta have an infinity for your merc. I dig these guide videos man.
Yes this was patched. I remember seeing guided arrow piercing cows back and forth. It was pretty OP. Actually I think they nerfed Bow Zons pretty hard, along with Nova sorceresses at some point. Those used to be everywhere, too.

Good guide, however I still want to point a few things out. Multishot. Hitting one monster with multiple arrows not possible (as far as I tested it out). Strafe: The more points you put in strafe, not only can you hit more attackers, but you can also hit one monster with multiple arrows. However, if you want all your arrows to hit one monster you need a very high strafe level.

Can't wait to watch the rest of the series. PS. I just noticed, while watching this video, that the runes Tal+Eth, are /almost/ an anagram of Stealth (it's just missing the S)!
I learned so much. Only ever played bowazon, have to try javazon. A good tip for strafe zon is mana and life on hit, I never had to use mana potions, Just a Thick blonde Gatling gun.
Man that broken Guided Arrow takes me back to when I had that good unique Crossbow Buriza-Do Kyanon and guided arrow and man I was tearing crap up back then. When i was doing my javazon I didn't know about the infinity runeword and I did both Poison and lightning javazon with lightning being my primary skill and poison being my secondary for lightning immunes and I got to Act 3 Hell just fine. So you could do both poison and lightning if you can afford infinity and you having bad luck finding any items with the lower resist curse on it. Also when doing a Strafe Zon I highly recommend either you having a Faith Grand matron bow on your Zon or have a Faith on your Act 1 merc for the fanaticism aura which will help immensely with the attack rating. Also with using Strafe be careful of strafe lock.
So I have a question. What about a freezing arrow bowazon that uses "Ice" runeword, max valkyrie and might aura merc to increase strafe dmg? Would that be a good combo? And also Nightwings ofc
You can easily run Bowazon with Freezing (maxed 41 points) & Exploding Arrow (maxed 40 points) leaving 39 points that can be thrown in passives, everything 1 point except Valk & Pierce, get Pierce to +/-69% the rest in Valk. (This ends up in having 11 points in pierce & Valk being maxed out, you could also put less in Pierce and put in some other passives or whatever you like I think people underestimate the Pierced Exploding Arrows since if enemies are grouped up you get multiple explosions off on 1 enemy and it deals with more Immunes of course. So personally Bowazon is either Elemental or Physical IMO. Edit: You Freeze them, then which to Exploding and keep alternating, I still find it the best and most fun way to play Bowazon. Multi might be a bit better in Hell tho due to the amount of Fire & Cold Immunes Edit 2: In D2R I am going to try Immolation / Freezing build the Immolation can be build with 41 points as well 1 point in Exploding because it only gives explosion radius to Immolation. You can get the Immolation arrow to deal between 4k-5k DPS.

Hey MrLlama. I have a question. I've been trying to build a Sorc in Single Player, and was wondering how I level my skills through Nightmare and Hell? I know that you start with Charged Bolt, respec around lvl 13 to 7 static, 1 frost nova, 1 teleport, the rest into Nova. Does that carry me through Hell Baal, or is there another respec along the way? Thanks!
im not sure if piercing works with lightning strike and do more dmg after continued thru and spliting .. maybe its just animation but dont do dmg ... who knows?
Forgot to mention... I use a witchwildstring as my 2nd bow... Let me tell something... The amplify damage+all res 40+deadly strike based on level +2 sockets (I put 2 shael rune) +free level 20 magic arrow ( it converts ur physical damage to magic and add attack rating)... However u need to convert it into diamond bow... Transmuting of course.. So in maths... It does more dps then windforce when the deadly strike and amp activates... Which it will due to high ias built... Cats eye, bramble and a 15 percentage ias socketed armour would be sufficient

If I swap off Plague Jav after nightmare, I end up with only Lightning based attacks, and there are a lot of Light immune monsters, especially in Act 2. How do L.Fury users deal with those monsters?
Dude I payed d2 for years, had a frozen orb sorc and a Javazon (b/c cold immunes in hell are a hassle) both lvl 90+ with endgame gear and I NEVER knew that IAS, FCR, etc. differed between classes 🤷♂️🤦♂️
if you got a bow with exploding arrows and not sure what to do with it, try a bow paladin, just max fire aura damage. the extra damage will add to the entire explosion, very fun build during normal/nm, starts to fall behind in hell, there you can respec to zeal or whatever.
What about +skill vs Attack speed. Y better have +skill AND +AS%. But some times there some gloves +2Skills and gloves with 20As/ or 1skill+10as. Or javs with +skills vs Javs +as%
This is because vitality stat has another use than just give hp and stamina. It also decides your chance for double heal from a potion. Higher vit = more chance.

java zone is OP character on single but bow-zone is hard to make on singleplayer. long way to search for gear or you need just pure luck to get all you need.
Just a hacked up character for guide purposes. The skill points are just there so I can put them in places to showcase some stuff, not necessarily for "this is where every point goes"

Javazon has the strongest spells in the game. charged strike and fury. CS vs bosses and Fury vs packs with 4 pierces (5 Fury splits total) with a razortail (100% pierce total).
if HC, if melee - more fhr always better than less fhr, and good fhr has faster breakpoints than DAE if SC, if ranged, if enigma - incidental fhr (and DAE, block/fbr, def) is enough, no "need" to tradeoff other priorities for it

Classic, Expansion, PlugY, PD2, and PoD2 are basically different games. The guy in this vid is playing with PlugY. You can get a respec in every one of them after 1.13 patch. You can only get more respecs with Tokens or game mods.
My Javazon breezes through Hell, she brings down Diablo and Baal in a few seconds. You do need to focus a lot on +java skills though. Also titan's revenge will make your life a lot easier.
I just can't believe you didn't figure out 25 frames per second. It's not 0.4 seconds. It's 0.04 seconds or 40 milliseconds. 60 fps is 16.67 ms. Really disappointed to be honest. I'll have to be careful about the veracity of anything you claim. 😅
Yeah I hero edited these chars so that I could just have 99s to put stats/skills/etc on. That way it would be easy to put gear on and things. Wasn't trying to showcase the characters as legit chars :D maybe a good note to make though

ya bowazon requires a little bit of gear. But get a buriza from nm meph or something and you can slowly work your way through!

What about a Poison Javazon with lots of charms to reduce the poison length? It will concentrate that 10k damage from 46 seconds to a few seconds.

super important thing about pierce is the razortail belt. basically required if you doing a cow zon or chaos zon.

Im lvling my bowazon on POD using magic arrow. Only lvl19 atm, whats the disadvantages of it?
The dmg will fall out for sure. You'll definitely want more AOE and better dmg in the future

The valk can help, having some additional point into something elemental can help, a bow that adds some elemental can help, or just avoid them.

What about +skill vs Attack speed. Y better have +skill AND +AS%. But some times there some gloves +2Skills and gloves with 20As/ or 1skill+10as. Or javs with +skills vs Javs +as%
Ya you just gotta balance it out as you like honestly. 2/20s are great but not everyone has them
3/20 blues are imo best gloves to use. Those can be bought from the shops. It takes a while though.

It bothers me more than it should than she starts with 20 vitality, but only 50 health, even though the health gain from 20 vitality is 60 health lol
This is because vitality stat has another use than just give hp and stamina. It also decides your chance for double heal from a potion. Higher vit = more chance.

java zone is OP character on single but bow-zone is hard to make on singleplayer. long way to search for gear or you need just pure luck to get all you need.

Just a hacked up character for guide purposes. The skill points are just there so I can put them in places to showcase some stuff, not necessarily for "this is where every point goes"

Javazon has the strongest spells in the game. charged strike and fury. CS vs bosses and Fury vs packs with 4 pierces (5 Fury splits total) with a razortail (100% pierce total).

if HC, if melee - more fhr always better than less fhr, and good fhr has faster breakpoints than DAE
if SC, if ranged, if enigma - incidental fhr (and DAE, block/fbr, def) is enough, no "need" to tradeoff other priorities for it

Classic, Expansion, PlugY, PD2, and PoD2 are basically different games. The guy in this vid is playing with PlugY.
You can get a respec in every one of them after 1.13 patch. You can only get more respecs with Tokens or game mods.

My Javazon breezes through Hell, she brings down Diablo and Baal in a few seconds. You do need to focus a lot on +java skills though. Also titan's revenge will make your life a lot easier.

I just can't believe you didn't figure out 25 frames per second. It's not 0.4 seconds. It's 0.04 seconds or 40 milliseconds. 60 fps is 16.67 ms. Really disappointed to be honest. I'll have to be careful about the veracity of anything you claim. 😅

Hero editor doesn't automatically add hp/sta/mp in the char stats window, so it could go unnoticed by Mr.Llama
Yeah I hero edited these chars so that I could just have 99s to put stats/skills/etc on. That way it would be easy to put gear on and things. Wasn't trying to showcase the characters as legit chars :D
