I think the issue with some versions of the Bible is the verbiage. For example, the word “and” and the word “or” can totally change the meaning of a scripture. Even the word “but” can have that affect. I usually compare King James with another version because I don’t understand King James totally because we don’t talk like that in today’s world.

I agree with you! I have at least 3 translations of my bible, and even if I read the same verse, the differences in phrasing touch my heart differently too.

Art That Plays & Prays Ohhh thank u so much for saying this too... I feel a lot of the time it's hard for others to open up to see & understand it like that. They feel they are going against God's word somehow. But there is no right or wrong way to the bible. We all must always do whatever feels right to us. Xoxo💕

Hi Cat.... I love the amplified, but it's a translation used by Joyce she did not have anything to do with it's conception ... in fact she doesn't know the original languages either lol so we are in good company :D

My hubby has had an Amplified Bible by The Lockman Foundation (translations over a span 1954, 1958, 1962, 1964) published by Zondervan, since 1983. I don’t use it much, but he does.

I got a Holman KJV Study Bible (Personal Size) for $18 at Ollie's a couple weeks ago, so you can occasionally get them cheaply. ;)
Also the Old Scofield, if that's your thing (since *WARNING* its theology can be a bit questionable) can be found for as little as $12 online.

Really like that nkj personal study bible, hows the font on it? I’m going on 47 and my eyes are going lol, I normally read with glasses, but I’m thinking a small study Bible that size the font must be tiny?

Bobby Dillashaw this is the review I made on it... The print is a bit small but I feel most study bible's are unless you get the Large Print size. Hope this helps

It really depends. I like the RSV, personally - but I only teach from the KJV because I know that some people will be offended unless I do and it's the only translation pretty much NOBODY rejects.

The kjv is the only translation that comes close to the original translation
The other translation is trying to change the word and make it more modern and up to date that fits them and what they want it to say and take verses out and change a lot of things
The NiV ,NLT ,Nkjv ,Esv and the others
Are not the real deal
They are just trying to deceive people

Been working mostly with the Dr Jeremiah study Bible,but it's a bit large to bring every week to church,so I generally bring a smaller sized one and a notebook,write down the weekly verses and then go over them and delve deeper during the week in my prayer closet.,I am also a big fan of both Joyce and Dr Jeremiah, and can't wait till this upside down world allows conference's to start again....The only reason I'm still alive is cause I found God--- and now I can't seem to get enough!!! Little Me actually Elohim is a name of God. It mean The Creator 💜 there is a great book by Kay Arthur called “Knowing The Names Of God”. It’s such a great book. Just thought I’d share 💜 also Cat Woods I love the amplified version of the Bible as well. I like how it gives us like a definition for words or explains words in the parentheses.
