LOVE LARS HES THE PERFECTIONIST IN METALLICA.WHEN SOMETHING DOESNT SOUND RIGHT HE CALLS IT OUT..HE IS A TRUE ARTIST.MOST DRUMMERS JUST SIT BACK AND R LIKE WHATEVER ILL JUST PLAY TO IT.GREAT SONG LIKE THE OTHER 300
HAAHHAAH XD lars is the perfectionist ? The one who has stopped practicing, the one who doesnt play the double bass in his songs anymore, The one who cant nail his drum fills and doesnt use the ride cymbal beacuse its easier to cover his mistakes with the china ?
considering they hadn't played the song in 20 years, what do you expect? if you wrote a song, then left it and never played it again for 20 years, I'm sure you'd be a little rusty learning the song again in a matter of hours then executing it live.
That's a great song too; I can't believe they didn't play it for ten years. I had a friend once too who always said it was one of his favorites. Some great soloing and some great lyrics too "......I AM YOU YOU SEE! There's a piece of me in everyone.......". The whole of that album's great in fact, it really gets me moving each time and always puts me and leaves me in a good mood. Really! ("Shit cake" or not Kirk) (!!?????!!)
on top of that Jump in the Fire was one of my favorites, I used to jam to that back to back with the cd on replay for an hour when i was younger just to get my hands in shape. now lars has kinda hurt my feelings like i have bad taste or something. god grow up man.
St Anger period was basically rebuilding the band from scratch. This was the rebirth of Metallica as far as I’m concerned, got better with DM and much better with Hardwired
1: Lars wasn't being hateful to Mustaine. He was just poking some fun. Plus he along with Mustaine and Hetfield wrote the song (albeit with different lyrics, which James changed after Mustaine's departure). 2: This was recorded in 04 before the "Big Four" tour. 3: I'm sure Mustaine doesn't mind, as he is less like his younger Metallica self. "James Hetfield can in no way sing that high." Considering he was 19 when "Kill 'Em All" was recorded, his voice was more flexible than now.
That was great! Watching Metallica trying to learn their own song! Too funny. The only thing that would've been funnier would be if a fan was there showing them how to play it. lol! I'd love to hear them bring back Metal Militia! Talk about James not being able to sing that high again...
Wow I remember watching this years ago and thinking I can't play the jump in the fire riff because it looked way too hard haha and now I can pretty much play every Metallica song!
dave had a part in almost every song on kill em all and a few on ride the lightning. he might not have gotten credit for all of them, but the songs WERE written with him in the band. mustaine had MASSIVE influence on metallica's sound early on. they would NOT be the same if he wasnt there.
man... i never realized how much rock stars are pretty much one step above cave men! haha and being a rocker myself it embarrasses me for not figuring it out sooner. only til i saw lars trying to push the cd in, hit the player, and hit the cd with rob's bass did i make the connection. o well rock on \m/
amen to that, and if he is indeed implying that 'dave's song' was difficult for them to learn, I can safely say that from a rhythm standpoint, 'Jump in the Fire' was actually one of the easiest Metallica songs for me to learn, fourth only to 'enter sandman', 'for whom the bell tolls' and 'phantom lord' (oh look, it's another 'mustaine song')
You can't hear the vocals because they are using in ear monitors(IEM's) and as such you can only hear what is coming off the stage(guitars, bass, drums). The vocals are through house P.A only and in their IEMs
Reporter: Wayne Gretzky, now that you've unplugged Metallica's stereo and sabotaged their career, what are you going to do now? Gretzky: I'm going to Megadeth!!!
no. he wrote "The Mechanics" (which shortens out to "Mechanix" snd is much faster)) but when he took it, Metallica created "the Four Horsemen" using the same riff simply because they didnt want to look the copiers even though wrote parts of it
Pretty sure James wrote most of motorbreath. Hit the Lights was like, the first 'tallica song ever. I read the Cliff Burton Biography and I didn't read the name "Hugh Tanner," so I doubt he was involved. However, I could be wrong, and if you could support your data that would be awesome and interesting. I searched what you told me to, and it appears that James wrote the lyrics for Jump in the Fire. Mustaine wrote the original lyrics, but not what appeared on the album.
hey if i haven't played a song in 20 years i would forget it. i recorded a song like 3 years ago and can remember how to play the solos and the order at all
I thought that too, but its not that weird, they probably have more than 50 songs and there are many songs that they havent played for years.Apparently Dave Mustaine forgets his songs as well, he said so once, so I guess is a commong thing to happen. Now Im sure that is a totally common thing for dream theater to forget their songs XD
What I mean is that DM didn't write all of Kill 'em All, or even most of it. Lars, James, and Cliff did most of the writing, while Dave Mustaine most notably wrote most of The Four Horsemen. Thats why he went to Megadeath and played the same song, but with his solos.
Lars has really aged quite a bit since '04. And those who say he acts like an asshole in this video are blind, he is obviously joking around!
Let's see how you looked 17 years ago moron
Nop. He is a asshole 24/7. Its his annnoying personality. 🤷♂️
Damn, I always forget how long Trujillos been with them. TIME flies man, I watched Some kind of monster the other night, I remember buying it on dvd
"Dave Mustaine came up and unplugged it." Made me laugh. xD
I love how Rob is just sitting there playing his bass letting Lars freak out
Was the " new guy" at that moment
A bassist used to the same with me during jams hahaha
Why didn't he just
...DOWNLOAD IT!
He FOKING downloaded the song!
Using Napster?!?
LOVE LARS HES THE PERFECTIONIST IN METALLICA.WHEN SOMETHING DOESNT SOUND RIGHT HE CALLS IT OUT..HE IS A TRUE ARTIST.MOST DRUMMERS JUST SIT BACK AND R LIKE WHATEVER ILL JUST PLAY TO IT.GREAT SONG LIKE THE OTHER 300
Matt Kramer Nope.
HAAHHAAH XD lars is the perfectionist ? The one who has stopped practicing, the one who doesnt play the double bass in his songs anymore, The one who cant nail his drum fills and doesnt use the ride cymbal beacuse its easier to cover his mistakes with the china ?
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
This comment is gold 😆
"I got to eat, I got focking meet and greets. Is that a focking seed in my mouth man?" 😂
I cant believe they havent played that since 84 i love that song and im sure alot of other metallica fans do too
Lars: "WHERE IS IT???!!! How can we learn...."
Trujillo: "Number six, number six."
THE CD LARS IS USING IS MANDATORY METALLICA 03!!! FOUND IT ON DISCOGS
considering they hadn't played the song in 20 years, what do you expect?
if you wrote a song, then left it and never played it again for 20 years, I'm sure you'd be a little rusty learning the song again in a matter of hours then executing it live.
Not even counting the fact that they wrote 6 albums since the last time they played it.
That's a great song too; I can't believe they didn't play it for ten years. I had a friend once too who always said it was one of his favorites.
Some great soloing and some great lyrics too "......I AM YOU YOU SEE! There's a piece of me in everyone.......".

I was just listening to that song too.
Pretty ironic when this song started playing.
Love the solo on the song lolz.
hahaha
"you gotta turn on the machine!"
that whole scene made them look like the flinstones man
you gotta love it
St Anger period was basically rebuilding the band from scratch. This was the rebirth of Metallica as far as I’m concerned, got better with DM and much better with Hardwired
No
hahaha dave mustaine came and unplugged it

You're voice doesn't lose flexibility with age.
"Can I see the bass for a second?" *jams it into the stereo*
I LUV the part at about 3:50 when Lars is imitating James' vocals! EEEEEAAAAHH!!!
I was there that night they played Jump in the Fire in Edmonton, Alberta at Rexal Place! METALLICA RULES!
wow 20 years is a long time
James voice was totally awesome when he recorded this track. Now, he sounds like he wants to be the metal dean martin.
I disagree. I dislike the first three metallica albums for the fact that the voice is not good.
Even MOP? Personal preference I guess.
WanisheMusic
welll I MOp is alright but not still erpfect. Its not that the songs are bad just James voice at the time does not sound to my ears.
i agree. I dont really listen to RTL or Kill because I didn't like his voice
3:49 Lars The Frog
and at 5:00 that looks so badass when the hit the light intro fades in and he films lars from overhead lol
I rofld when he started trying to shove the disc in with Robs bass XD
"fuckin thing dosent fit!"
first time he ever got to say that! :)
that main riff is a monster, probably the best along with seek and destroy
Life, dude. Metallica for Life!
5:02 idk whats more funny Lars face or Kirk😂
hahaha
good stuff
James has sick hair in this i reckon
\m/
Seen this video a thousand times ... still makes me piss my self laughing ..
wow, lots of info thanks man. yeah i've heard lars was the big spender haha. thanks for sharing, its appreciated!
That was great! Watching Metallica trying to learn their own song! Too funny. The only thing that would've been funnier would be if a fan was there showing them how to play it. lol!

Kirk and Lars are so funny! ^^
I love watching these clips of them :D
3:44 : "There is a job to be done and I'm the one
You people make me do it"
Lars : AAarrrGGhh !
I was at the concert one day after this one, in Calgary. They played Dyer's eve at that one.
"that could be the new contest. find the thing in fuckin Lars' mouth for uh, uh, a free meal."
ahahaha Kirk is fuckin hilarious
"Aaaah!! Vinnie! You know why...Because you gotta turn on the machine!"
"The fuckin' machine is on G!"
Oh Lars. You're so funny. ;P

12 years later. I agree man.
Lars is hilarious, you just got to love him!
He also forged his voice to alcohol and smoking bad. Sober since 2001, he doesn't sing with this heavy throat sound. Wish I'd be born earlier :O
I love how he's so confused at how a CD player works, then sits on the floor all in a huff x'D One word : AWWWWW.
James' vocals sound really good, for how long they haven't played. I would like a concert track of this.
Jump in the fire is one of my favorite songs T_T
Life is hard for musicians... but for drummers its nearly impossible.
man... i never realized how much rock stars are pretty much one step above cave men! haha and being a rocker myself it embarrasses me for not figuring it out sooner. only til i saw lars trying to push the cd in, hit the player, and hit the cd with rob's bass did i make the connection. o well rock on \m/
8:17 that rhythm change sounds so fucking good
amen to that, and if he is indeed implying that 'dave's song' was difficult for them to learn, I can safely say that from a rhythm standpoint, 'Jump in the Fire' was actually one of the easiest Metallica songs for me to learn, fourth only to 'enter sandman', 'for whom the bell tolls' and 'phantom lord' (oh look, it's another 'mustaine song')
rexall place! i was at the last show in december, was a crazy show.
SO CMN! YUMP IN THE FIYA
Damn i love that song
Such a great song..
thank you :)
I love how Rob didn't help Lars with the CD player haha
YES!!! SOO TRUE!
i love jump in the fire, favorite song, along with metal militia / four horsemen / seek and destroy / ride the lightning
Pretty cool that he still remembers the beat there just before all goes silent and Jaymz go "Well cmon!"
love that air drumming!!!!
This geezer is a 1st class helmet....
I'm a big fan too!!! It was a nice one hahaha!!!
is this video proof of lars going senile?
Hahhaa
Haha. Making fun of mustaine. He WROTE that song.
Jarek4GamingDragon That was the joke
Haha the last time they played before this video was 10 years before I was born :D
this is awesome
I got meet-and-greets, I gotta write setlists, I gotta learn fucking songs, I gotta eat...
You've certainly got a full 'plate', don't you Lars? :)
Bitchin'! They played in Edmonton! I live there, but I didn't see 'em there. Saw 'em in December, though. =D
Putting in cd's with basses is a danish tradition ! like LEGO
actually i read that according to ron mcgovney, the first metallica bassist, that they all worked on it TOGETHER AS A BAND
I wish Dave would play some of the songs he wrote with Metallica with Megadeth. It would be awesome to see him play them live.
best song
You can't hear the vocals because they are using in ear monitors(IEM's) and as such you can only hear what is coming off the stage(guitars, bass, drums). The vocals are through house P.A only and in their IEMs
that's a true fact, he's typically "Copenhagen" which we call all the people from the island he's from here in Denmark :P
Funny watching them hearing their old stuff :D
they all seem to remember those days. it must have been memorable, they were fuckin metallica.not just metallica THE metallica
LOL 4:03
Love Kirk's face when he says "It's a fucking piece of shit cake!"
your right baby!! they need to learn their Metallica facts! rock on!!whoohoo
Best money can buy :)
I just fucking love Lars, he's the coolest guy ever!
I totally agree. I'd love to hear Kill Em All '10
"hey hey thats roberts only cd" lmao XD
@Tarkess yeah, and and they played this song with Mustaine in the Fillmore 30th Anniversary and Lars said he presented the song to them
Reporter: Wayne Gretzky, now that you've unplugged Metallica's stereo and sabotaged their career, what are you going to do now?
Gretzky: I'm going to Megadeth!!!
Lars is such a big kid at heart. "is there a fucking seed stuck in there" wtf?
I WANT THIS FUCKING JOB..TRAVELING AROUND, FILMING THESE GUYS, GOING BACKSTAGE...Thumbs up if you want this job.
god lars i love you
I don't care how much you people hate Lars. I love this video.
... Of all the things Lars allows to be seen online... :D
the airdrumming was funny hahaha looked so realistic xD
and kirk with his shit cake lmao xD learned a new word hahaahhah
Way underrated song.
funny that Rob, the guy who has only been in the band since 2003 can tell Lars what track it is on the CD!!! "Where is it?" "it's number 6"
damn i love kirk...he is just the best
Hahahaahah: "U gotta turn on the machine!!" "The fucking machine is on, G!" xDDD
And Hit the Lights...
But he said it's "robert's" CD, so I guess Rob got a special Metallica CD since you know, he is a part of the band.
no. he wrote "The Mechanics" (which shortens out to "Mechanix" snd is much faster)) but when he took it, Metallica created "the Four Horsemen" using the same riff simply because they didnt want to look the copiers even though wrote parts of it
