Any other meat alternative for Tuna? I live in a 3rd world country therefore it is hard for me to find + afford.
In theory any cooked, cat-safe meat with a low fat content should work well with this recipe (eg boiled chicken breast, boiled white fish). Let us know how it goes!
You can also use liver, kidney, hearts, any organ meat.
My cat hate fish tastes i tried many types of fish
How much should I give him?
It does depend a lot on how large you make them! Assuming a batch of 50, they work out about 4 kcal each. It’s recommended that treats make up no more than 10% of your cat’s daily food intake - so for a 4kg/~9lb adult cat that would equate to around 5 treats per day. Hope that helps!
Lemme ask...
if it made of canned tuna and white egg..., and then you cook it on air fryer, isn't that mean we can eat that as well as human?
This is true! (We have been known to eat the odd one ourselves 😂)
My cat sniffed it ,and walked away:((
How to store it?
Allow them to cool fully, then transfer into airtight jars for storage. If kept cool and dry, they should store well for 1-2 weeks. Happy baking!
Step 2 get tuna
Thanks! I make homemade cat food that calls for egg yolks. Next time I make cat food I will use the egg whites to make this treat!
That sounds perfect - great idea!
Why not use the whole egg? So many nutrients and minerals lost!
This recipe is a little bit like a meringue (without the sugar) in that it uses the egg white to get its crispiness. In our tests with egg yolks included, the treats didn't crisp up and perished very quickly because of the water content, but if you're going to use them right away it could work! Or you can use the egg yolk for some human cooking - it's great for homemade mayonnaise or lemon curd!
How can we Store it?
Leave to cool and dry completely, then place in an airtight container - they should keep for 1-2 weeks 👍
Can I use a microwave??
Sadly a microwave won’t work for these treats. They require air moving over them in an air fryer or oven to dry them out.
is it okay to use other types of oil?
Hello! There isn’t any oil in this recipe ❤️
I saved this video and I’m gonna be sharing it with my friends
Update: my cat loved it! i added a sprinkle of catnip too :D
We're so happy you liked it - happy baking!
@@supakitstore ty!
my cat is named Lola too. I love her sm
Awesome! But is that an instant pot stove??? I need to make these for my kitty because we adopted a puppy from the humane society and he’s getting spoiled so my kitty deserves to be spoiled also ❤❤❤
Aww! In the video we used an air fryer but you can use a regular oven too. There’s a link in the description with full instructions for both. Happy baking! 🐈
What kind of temperature do you have to put it at?
We recommend setting your airfryer to 205°C / 400°F 👍
Ok ty
can you check the ingredients first?
Can i feed it raw to my cat or is it necessary to air fry it ,i don't have a airfrier what should I use
Plz recommend
These treats are designed to be cooked, but you can find an oven baked version on our website! supakit.co/blogs/cat-guides/homemade-tuna-cat-treats-your-cat-will-go-crazy-for
Alright thanks
Just wandering doesn’t canned tuna have a lot of salt in them?
If the tuna is canned in brine (salt water) it can be, so it is important to drain the canned tuna thoroughly before use. Happy baking!
Ok thank you 🎉
Maybe a st*pid question but don't they dly around while cooking? My air fryer is powerful and I am afraid to try
Fly I meant
In our tests (with an Instant Vortex model) they had enough ‘stick’ to stay on the baking / parchment paper and not fly around. If yours is ultra strong you might want to keep an eye on them through the window, if it has one - if they’re cooked enough to show any signs of moving at all, they’re done!
@@supakitstorethank you for the response, I tried them, they didnt fly😅 cooked them for 4 minutes on 200°C, then 150°C for 10 minutes, they are ultra crunchy now and my cat looooooves them!!! Thank you for the recipe❤
Yay, so happy that worked out!! ❤ @@begummm11
How long it will last outside the fridge?
Not long
I thought the egg had to be cooked ugh I’m so confused
The egg white gets cooked at the end in the air fryer, once mixed with the blended tuna. Hope that helps!
@@supakitstore thanks so much
For how many days we can store it?
If kept cool and dry they should store in an airtight container for 1-2 weeks!
Do you know how the shelf life is on this?
If kept cool and dry they should store in an airtight container for 1-2 weeks 👍
No!
Can I store it n cook it later??
We’d recommend cooking the mix right away, the uncooked mix does not store well
@@supakitstore OK thank you
how much of this treat can cats have?

Canned oily tuna will work?
Yes, it will - just take care to drain off all of the excess oil :)
I'd see IF your cat actually eats the tuna in oil first. My cat is as picky and spoiled as ever tho. She's the only one I've ever had that gets canned food breakfast daily. I haven't met a cat that does not like tuna tho.
my cat doesnt like it. and not all cat's will like it
