Love this channel!! I have a 10 gallon which I have completely redone, but before that I had a betta, 6 platys and an African dwarf frog. They all got along great and the betta never went after them. Over a few months time everything in the tank died so I converted the tank to a planted shrimp tank after I cleaned it out. I realized I have super hard water where I live. Eventually I’ll be getting some male guppies to add more movement. I considered a betta, but didn’t want it to eat all my shrimp. Plus I would really have to soften the water for the betta to be happy, where as guppies like hard water.
I just placed a new white and red female betta in a tank with 5 ember terras. She is the most calm betta I’ve ever seen!!! She does not chase the embers. And is even calm at feeding time🤗
Excellent info/ video! Bettas have different personalities. Also sometimes they get along fine for weeks or months and, although rarely, can just go crazy in the tank and have a killing spree. Mostly in keeping many of them for years, do just fine when their needs are taken care of. A Betta log and or stem plants floating also give long fin Betta a convenient place to rest up top. And sometimes a cranky one mellows with age.

He doesn't mind me rearranging his current tank. He seems to enjoy the change.
I think a lot of people may get the idea that just because a fish is curious or even showing signs of possible aggression doesn't mean that it will continue and that someone needs to be immediately pulled from the system. Naturally fish are going to be interested, some more than others. This does not mean it will persist, after some acclimation to tank mates, a lot of times that appearance of aggression or interest can greatly die down and all is good. Something to keep in mind.
Thank you, I was trying to figure out what to get first! I haven’t had fish in so long and was wanting to have a community and add a Betta for a splash of color... ☺️🥺❤️

I have a 10 gallon tank, is it okay if I put some otocinclus, some cherry shrimp, and a betta in there? Obviously the betta would be fine with tankmates.
What black gravel are you using for your betta tanks? I don't know which one to get for a 10 gallon tank. Another thing, how much pounds would I need for a 10 gallon tank?
Hi! This is a really random question but I watched your video about how to reduce filter flow a while back and I was wondering is the bottled method still good to use? If not what's the best thing to use?
They can you just have to have a pretty large tank but again it really depends on the beta. Only have about 6 gallon tank and my beta does pretty well with the guppies he's just got a very mellow personality. I know he's recovering from a swim bladder so I'm trying to fast him and he's living in some water with aquarium salt for a while. He seems to be improving I think maybe I overset him because in Taiwan they say to feed your betas every two to three days but in America they say to feed your baby every day and then fast them and I really can't seem to get the right amount of food They said swim bladder is caused by the fish golfing too much air so you have to try to make the pellets sink to the bottom but my females don't have any trouble with that only my males get so I'm bladder I don't know why to be honest male betta seem to be kind of weaker compared to females they're pretty Hardy little fish all my female bettas have lived for 2 to 3 years but male Bettas I'm lucky if I can get them to live up to 4 months My friend has a male beta she's had for 6 months and he lives in a flower vase with about those plant and the leaves are in the water they're fine and then he is beautiful I mean he has no illness she feeds him like every two to three days and then he swims up and down the flower base but for me I set up my betas with like a 5 gallon tank and I can't get them to live even with good water changes proper temperature in fact it's like that for a lot of time when he is they just put their fish and a flower vase and they do fine It's kind of frustrating because I take the time to pick out all the right things and live plants and good hardscaping and gravel that doesn't poison your fish and I can't get the males to live it's really sad I mean they have wonderful homes but I must have had like a hundred fish come through my house it was better than them dying in a drinking cup but it's just a bit shameful that people don't really take care of them well but they can live well in a small container I mean don't get me wrong my friend's great with animals she's very good to them but she really believes a beta should live in a flower vase. I suppose it's good because she changes the water every 2 days so probably it's better for the fish I don't know
Is it fine if I want to add a community TO my betta’s tank, while following this same process? Or will this feel like they are attacking his territory. Thank you so much.
I took my betta fish out of a 20gal community setup like this one. Not for the sake of the other fish, for my betta because the other fish were stressing him out. Also, long-finned bettas don't have as easy a time getting to the surface in this tall of an aquarium. My fish never flared but you could tell he wasn't enjoying himself and he had to compete with the faster fish for his food. I much prefer bettas with bottom dwellers and if I'm going to do a tall tank like this, get a short finned betta.
I’m thinking of adding dwarf puffers in with my neon tetras. The tank is heavily planted, with lots of hiding places and such. Do you think this would be okay? I know puffers can be territorial like bettas.
I was planning to buy a large tank to make a community tank for my chill betta and some neon tetras, because I kept them in separate tanks but I wonder if my chill betta becomes triggered when housed with some small fishes.
can i get some help, so my beta fish jumped out of the tank while i was cleaning it and he fell from a pretty heigh distance but now he has a brown spot on his back. Did anything bad happpen im really worried
Did Sonic go after your shrimp at all? I'm about to get a betta to add to my tank of 5 ember tetras and 4 cherry shrimp and I'm more worried about the betta having a munch on my shrimp

I normally wouldn't do this, but i bought a betta on impulse because i just fell in love with her 😭 i don't have a tank to put her in, so i decided to put her in with my African Dwarf Frogs, but the one big male is really aggressive and was already trying to nip at her while she was aclimating. I removed him for now and I have him in a little time-out container. Any suggestions to make sure the betta is safe??
I have 2 female swordtails and 3 male platys in a 10 gallon tank. Would my betta be ok with them? I’d really like for him to be in a bigger tank with tank mates.
Thats a beautiful betta fish! How do you make the aquarium water be clear?
Kind of ironic that Sonic can’t go fast 😆
But I love him!
Lol, right? I totally didn't realize the irony until people pointed it out to me. 😂
Hi.. i love watching you videos.. i have a question .. how do you feed your betta and molly fish at the same time? Cause may betta loves to eat .. he also eat the food of molly.. im scared cause i dont want to overfeed my betta...
i have question i put a betta who flares alot to my swordtail and small guppies he notices every small thing and gets pissed and he flares like every 5 minutes should i put him alone in my ten gallon or leave him in my 20 gallon
Hi, cool video I have a question, have you ever kept African dwarf frogs before? If not you really should they are fully aqautic frogs. Im sure you've seen them before
I haven't, but my brother did when we were kids. :)
I have my betta fish in a community tank and he gets along great with his other tank mates
That's great to hear! What tank mates do you keep him with?
I have a 10 gallon tank, is it okay if I put some otocinclus, some cherry shrimp, and a betta in there? Obviously the betta would be fine with tankmates.
What black gravel are you using for your betta tanks? I don't know which one to get for a 10 gallon tank. Another thing, how much pounds would I need for a 10 gallon tank?
I wish I had a fish like that. I've been looking everywhere.
Hello there!! i would like to ask if how many neon tetra i can put with one betta fish in a 10 gallon tank? 😅😢
Could a betta fish live with 2 mollies in a 10 gallon tank? I’ve been looking around and have been getting very different results.
I have a 5.8 tank with atleast 10 or more platies is it safe to add one?
Just look at those live-bearers when Betta is flaring at them
Like if they were toying with him, swimming So casually
Is Sonic a Mustard Gas type? His finnage is amazing.
Question. How many platies can i keep in a ten gallon tank. I have 3 female platies right now and a new crown tail betta i just bought today.
My female Betta sometimes chases my mollies. Is that a bad sign? There's no flaring or fin nipping, just chasing.
Great intro. 🐟🌿👍😊
Glad you liked it!
He seems to be improving I think maybe I overset him because in Taiwan they say to feed your betas every two to three days but in America they say to feed your baby every day and then fast them and I really can't seem to get the right amount of food
They said swim bladder is caused by the fish golfing too much air so you have to try to make the pellets sink to the bottom but my females don't have any trouble with that only my males get so I'm bladder I don't know why
to be honest male betta seem to be kind of weaker compared to females they're pretty Hardy little fish
all my female bettas have lived for 2 to 3 years but male Bettas I'm lucky if I can get them to live up to 4 months
My friend has a male beta she's had for 6 months and he lives in a flower vase with about those plant and the leaves are in the water they're fine and then he is beautiful I mean he has no illness she feeds him like every two to three days and then he swims up and down the flower base but for me I set up my betas with like a 5 gallon tank and I can't get them to live even with good water changes proper temperature in fact it's like that for a lot of time when he is they just put their fish and a flower vase and they do fine
It's kind of frustrating because I take the time to pick out all the right things and live plants and good hardscaping and gravel that doesn't poison your fish and I can't get the males to live it's really sad I mean they have wonderful homes but I must have had like a hundred fish come through my house it was better than them dying in a drinking cup but it's just a bit shameful that people don't really take care of them well but they can live well in a small container
I mean don't get me wrong my friend's great with animals she's very good to them but she really believes a beta should live in a flower vase.
I suppose it's good because she changes the water every 2 days so probably it's better for the fish I don't know
YES!! I love your vids and I LOVE Bettas!! Thank you for sharing!! 💗🎉
My pleasure! Hopefully it can help someone. :)
Can a community group with a male betta be in a ten gallon tank
Sonic is absolutely gorgeous by the way 😍
Thank you so much! I'm so happy I was able to find a mustard gas betta at Petco. 💙💛
I was planning to buy a large tank to make a community tank for my chill betta and some neon tetras, because I kept them in separate tanks but I wonder if my chill betta becomes triggered when housed with some small fishes.
Great video!
can two female bettas stay together in nano 45cm heavily planted tank with few dwarf rasboras ?
can i get some help, so my beta fish jumped out of the tank while i was cleaning it and he fell from a pretty heigh distance but now he has a brown spot on his back. Did anything bad happpen im really worried
Did Sonic go after your shrimp at all? I'm about to get a betta to add to my tank of 5 ember tetras and 4 cherry shrimp and I'm more worried about the betta having a munch on my shrimp
Hmm, not in my 20-gallon tank where I had amano shrimp. My previous betta Soundwave did like to hunt cherry shrimp in his 5-gallon tank though.
@@GirlTalksFish thanks for your reply ☺️ hmm... I think I'm going to have to create some more hidey holes for the shrimp I think, just in case!
Thanks for your videos too - they've come in very useful when I've been setting up my tank and choosing my plants.
Mam as a aquarium hobbyist
Full respect and lots of love from teen indian ❤️🇮🇳🇮🇳
I had a Betta first now adding new fish in and he attacks them but then stopped so I added more in and he's started attacking the new lot what should I do?
How about 14 Glofish in 10 gallon aquarium , is betta able to get along with them?
