The generation of students watching you and learning from you is extremely fortunate. Loved your video, especially the last part where you stress the importance of doing what's good for the family. Most profs love their own field with a bias and are not ready to accept the job-market today. You understand the job market and advice accordingly. I think that makes you not just a great teacher(I love your mechanics of solids lectures), but as well as a true well-wisher of students.

Professor you are too good. Your words are filled with love and care for younger generations, you are aware of their real struggles and tell all reality in a very humble mannner. I tell almost the same. But people don't like this reality.

This this the best advice that any random UA-cam channel can never give, huge respect for the teacher and his thought to advice students being an jee aspirant also a dropper he's absolutely correct but i have taken drop because after 12 I have decided to choose engineering if I have decided earlier I would definitely prepared for it also have not taken drop well let's see what happen next month I have my attempt I wish I could get a nit in my city

I also needed such advice when I was in 12th.
I was a NEET aspirant but couldnt get a seat due to just few numbers. However, I got decent rank in JEE Mains and took admission in one old NIT.

I did BTech agri engineering from a well known university, then I joined IIT KGP to pursue MTech in Water resources, got a silver medal, now I am pursuing PhD in Civil Eng at University of Notre Dame, USA. I totally agree with your points sir because I faced this during phd course when I took Advanced Fluid Dynamics course and I felt it to be really difficult may be because my basics were not that strong. But what I really want to point out that it depends on the student as well, one can get success even being a graduate holder from a third tier institution. My undergrad University was not one of the top most prestigious universities though I performed well in masters & whatever I am doing right now, I am happy with that. According to me subject doesn’t matter at all. But I could be totally wrong sir. Thanks

All do not have patience like you have after studying four years - no job, aarre chalo kar lete hyay MTech. After studying two years Mtech no job, chalo Bhai PhD kar lete hyay. After 5 years PhD no job, chalo ek post doc hi kar lete hyay. So 4+2+5= 11 years studying and no job guarantee. Who wants to go to such trajectory? Better is go for BTech, then go to a job. You will have hands on industry experience and deal with problems which actually matters in real life. Not like PhD where most of the times the problem you deal with are just academic questions which will never ever be used in real life.

As always very balanced presentation and the timing of the presentation so apt when so many students are on the verge of making their career choices. You are right in your point that for one to choose core engineering like civil or mechanical, one needs to look at both the facilities and faculty. You are absolutely on the spot when you say that there are certain things which cannot be understood unless experienced in person. I remember when I was studying, my father also being a civil engineer, used to take me to site to explain things. That made a huge difference.

I agree to your point sir, due to some unfortunate reasons I could not perform well in JEE mains but got admitted in tier 3 college in CS branch and performing really well overall because of online materials we get and due to this there is a great surge in placements in these colleges from what it used to be and many tier 3 and 4 colleges are offering packages in crores due to this but this is not the same case with our fellows in electrical and mechanical branches and usually they lack due to most faculty being unexperienced.

Only 5% of students go to IITs, NITs, CFTIs etc. for their engineering, So what you are saying is applicable to 95% of students, who will go to these tier 3 colleges. Also sometimes teaching is worse in government institutes as profs. have a govt.job (I have first hand experience of working in a CFTI on contractual basis)..? The CFTIs would only generate like 5-10k core lets say mech. engineers per year. Are they sufficient for such big economy or can we have some more..? please let us know...thanks!!

Completed 12th with PCM. Seeing some of my friends( who went for coaching) marks in jee. I get some confidence and I started preparing but failed.

If you get EE in NIT Silchar/Agartala, then definitely go for it without hesitation. For north-east only these two are best. If you wanna do simething related to software then go for Lower branch in top NITs. And if you interested in core branch like mech , then go for NIT Bhopal/Nagpur etc. Moreover Nagpur/Bhopal/Raipur are middle-tier NITs, not lower NIT

Respected sir, I would like to seek your opinion on the relevance of pursuing an MTech degree after completing a BTech, particularly for individuals aiming for a PhD. Allow me to provide some context regarding my situation. I graduated from a fairly reputable engineering college, although not in the "so-called" top tier, and I also have a published paper to my credit. Currently, I am employed but have a keen interest in pursuing a PhD, preferably within my own country. However, I am unsure whether obtaining an MTech is a necessary step before pursuing a PhD. I have come across discussions suggesting that direct PhD candidates may face discrimination during the faculty selection process at IITs, where individuals with both an MTech and a PhD are typically preferred. I am curious to know if there is any truth to this claim. Additionally, considering my age, which is on the higher side at 26, the 2year duration of an MTech program would further delay my pursuit of a PhD, potentially impacting the selection process negatively.

Sir I got 95.2%ile and got 55k rank. I'm very much disappointed with this rank and have a strong feeling that I can score much better if I get another chance. But parents are against full drop, rather they are suggesting to take whatever branch i get in homestate or other NITs and then opt for partial drop, but I consulted many seniors from NITs and most of them said that managing college and jee prep is a herculean task, most of the partial droppers have to leave their prep at the end. Right now I'm in such a dilemma and turmoil which is indirectly affecting my mental peace and advanced prepration.
Edit : got 18k in advanced. 55k in mains to 18k in adv is insane, but I don't think I will get any IIT being a gen male candidate. Bad luck once again 😔

I think people should rather join bsc in universities like du , Calcutta University [as fresher u won't get very handsome packages but after doing masters or 2-5 yr industry experience u can get those iit like packages ( they will take only 2 to 3 years extra than btech but it's worth it since you'll be doing the whole course in just 30 t0 50k)]
These are far far better than these so called colleges which are just leaches (harsh but reality) who suck money out of parents.
Only private institutions worth joining are those who have tatas' or birlas' name in it.
And if ur only motive to do engineering is money plz don't join engineering there are many other ways to make money
Crux: DON'T JOIN ANY PRIVATE COLLEGES INSTEAD JOIN BSC IN DU,CU ETC

I think I watched these videos in a very systematic way completely aligning with my journey! I will be taking a drop certainly even though my result couldn’t have been worse I never understood physics and match the following though interesting to learn at coaching never helped excel math! But this year I will study just like I used to in 10th grade and it reminds me why I chose pcm in the first place and even if I don’t crack iit I want to really feel physics and math and make an informed decision!
Thankfully I do have supportive parents and some other favourable conditions

    • @xsupremeyx9923
      @xsupremeyx9923 Рік тому +1

95% sounds pretty high but it's pretty achievable. Alot of people aim for 99%.
Well I'm saying alot of people have misconception about 95-99% in JEE Mains, the thing is it's not percentage but percentile, it gives you the idea about how your rank lies when compared to the competition, here 95% means that you have scored better than 95% of the competition, this is completely different from like scoring 95% marks out of 300 in the paper.
For example i only prepared for class 12 boards on the reduced syllabus this year, my 11th was wasted due to issues and never really got to prepare 11th in 12th as i had big problems in 12th as well but managed to get 95% marks in board exams somehow.
I also gave the JEE Main paper for some exposure only, i expected scoring less than 30% at first, attempted a total of 70 marks somehow by only knowing some stuff of 12th out of 300, but unexpectedly i got 85 percentile there, that pretty much says that a big majority of people score below 70 marks in first attempt, and that would give you 85-90 percentile easily.
You have to score around 180 marks out of 300 for atleast 98-99%, people consider 200 marks to be a safe bet though but usually 180 marks give 99-99.5% which is a great percentile.
It's pretty much possible to score 120-160 marks in mains easily with good preparation so I'm sure she can get 95% somehow if she's okay in studies, but she has to really give her all if she takes the drop as drop year asks for scoring 99% if possible, and it would be pretty hard on her especially when everyone around her scores more than her despite her trying her best, so make sure to make her feel happy and never let her feel inferior as she would already be in so much stress due to competition, and well studying 2 classes worth of syllabus in 1 year only.
I myself studying for next year's mains and advanced, and despite being good in studies im struggling since I'm aiming for cse nit or some other good branch in iit if i get the chance anyhow
