A deep and beautiful message to the parents. You are right that it is so important for a parent to support their child in their decisions. Also parents should understand that college admission is not the end of the world. There are lot of people who are late bloomers. I have seen a lot of examples where a student hasn't seen much success in college admission but with right support and right mind set have reached a good position later in life. You right in saying the parents need to be aware if their child wants to do engineering. I remember the dialogue from 3 idiots by Madhavan - "Agar main engineer bhi ban gaya to bahut kharab engineer banoonga."

Dear Prof. JC, I am a pure science student, and I will be beginning my PhD this year. This video really struck a chord with me, because I was in the exact situation you describe at the time of completing my high school. I had wanted to do pure sciences since school, and after a lot of discussion and arguments with my parents, I still ended up in an engineering college studying EEE. I survived around 3 months there before I dropped out and ultimately decided to pursue a BSc. Even though completing my BSc and MSc and applying for PhD positions has been a very difficult journey for me, today I am extremely happy about my decisions and I am looking forward to pursue my PhD. Your video really hit home for me and I wish you had been around back then and my parents had seen your video then. It may have helped avoid a lot of arguments and stress at the time, for myself as well as my parents. I hope other students who are presently in this position are benefitted by this video. Thank you for your work.

Hello Sir, Good to see you back. Hope you are doing good now. One small request- please make videos in English. You have fan following globally Sir. So English is preferable. Thank you
Thank you. I am better now, although there is still a bit of redness. I have been deliberating with myself whether I should continue in Hindi or return to English. Unlike the previous video, this time I included English captions which required quite a lot of time and effort to create. Perhaps for 10+2 level videos, I will make in Hindi but for undergraduate onwards I will make in English. But I have to think about it properly.
@@Prof_JC ok Sir. I understand it’s a lot of hard work, when it comes to compiling and editing. But even for all levels, English is preferable. Since your Hindi seems to be of a very high standard ( lot of technical details I mean), I made this request Sir. But I think, having a Hindi dictionary while listening to your speech, will help to learn lot of new words. I learnt few high level English words that way.😌 Wish your eyes a speedy recovery Sir.
@@Prof_JC no Sir. I am serious. Even i studied Hindi in my school as well as through private classes. But I just did, because my mom forced me to. I only started repenting for my mistake, when I watch Hindi movies. I won’t be able to understand the climax😂😂. So I note down the important words and later understand it with the help of the dictionary or call my Hindi friends. And then join the bits and pieces of climax together and understand it. Most Indians become parents without any idea of what it is involved in bringing up a child. The fault lies in the value system of Indian society. Personal desires and power play replaces true love and understanding. Dominant parent coerces his (often)/her partner in the ritualistic destruction of their child to fit into the value system of a heartless society. What a waste! It is a sad scene.
Dear professor, I wish to pursue research studies, but these days I'm struggling at literature review studies. I pick up a topic, find a research paper and read about it and therein I find some new concept, and start reading about this new concept from one platform to another. Now while keep doing this I find further new terminologies Or associated concepts, and finally upon digging up this way, I find myself getting confused at the end moment. I get distracted from whatever I started reading at first. Don't know why is it again and again happening. That's why I'm unable to finish the review paper I started writing about. Any help or guidance would be appreciated with little more into the writing review paper by coupling readings from different research papers.
What helped me, was making a table with say 50 rows... And listing the links of most relevant 50 studies to start with. In the next column writing it's research design, then very brief findings and so on. This made the whole effort organised. Meanwhile if I found some useful study.. I would just add the link in a separate table to be read later.
Very nice and much needed guidance for all Dear Prof. My child is interested for pursuing BS (Eco) from IIT. He may get CSE in new IITs. Although its quiet clear from your video that he should go for Eco. I request you to give your opinion for BS (Eco) from IIT .... 🙏
Are you talking about the Economics courses at the IITs? I don't have much knowledge about them (although we have one here at IIT Kharagpur too). But if one is really interested in Economics, would it not be better to do a proper course from a classical university? Furthermore, if a student wishes to study Economics, has he done the fundamental Economics courses at the 10+2 level?

Respected sir in teener age students does not know what is better for him/her only parents/Gurdian suggest them to do so for a happy and prosperous long life with this desire every children are going in these fields sir u have a deep knowledge of your field but every parent wants to fullfill their own desires through their children that is great issue, because they are spenting money on their education from starting education LKG/UKG up to Degree leval that reason exatually pressurised the students to do some for their parents they are not liberal during their study period a great pressure of study and parents are upon them our society became only money minded thoughts and we are inserting these thoughts to our new generation also that is very dangerous for our coming generations also , Money is needed only to fulfill our basic needs Roti, kapda and Makan but in 21 century it becomes very strongly need of every parents are to earn money only money in this situation how can a children/Student can decide to proceed with his/her desires of getting education what he/she wants to learn according to their interests . Sir salute to you and your vision with my core of heart
Dear prof.JC Very good suggestion for parents thank you sir
Nowadays choosing ME,EE Civil branch in IIT and nit is biggest crime besides CS branch
Sir I got 86%le in jee mains since I got no coaching for 1.5 years of +2 due to unusual circumstances.
Cut-off was also 90.78 for advance now I'm very un-confident on my performance.
My situation is I'm so much distressed that journey to any iit/nit is looking impossible in 1 year.
Even though I try to work on it but I simply can't put those hours in my day.
I want to read philosophy and history but that's a no way in family.
This video of yours had no effect at all but I encourage this video for all who have done better and their parents.
You're very kind hearted man❤️🙏
Sir pls can you solve the jee advanced 2023 chimney problem
Because this question create the controversial⁉️
I find it extremely heartwarming that a person in the academia is so much sensitive about the struggles of students and their families.
When I was in college I didn't find many people in the academia so sensitive about students.

Basically this video is about what the students think about them whether they want to go to particular branch , research field etc . But the problem basically is many students do not know what is good and bad for them. Even I'm confused whether go for NIT Raipur ECE OR EE or NIT Rourkela Ceramics .
Dr. Thanks for sharing good and valuable information in a very simple manner.
Valuable suggestions. Thanks Professor

Hello Sir,
Good to see you back.
I learnt few high level English words that way.😌
Wish your eyes a speedy recovery Sir.
@@sandhya5236 Haha ... I think I should share your comment with my Hindi teacher from school!
I have sent u mail Sir, somewhere near ur eye surgery. Pls have a look at it, when you find time Sir
@Sandhya Wow, that is really a good level of commitment to learn something! I did check the big backlog of emails. I will check again.
i am a mother and my husband is a pharmacist,my son wants to do btech , but i want him to stay with us and persue his father's business after completing his studies.

With due respect sir untill 2015 it was engineering which helped middle class people to grow financially . And bsc was of no use for lower n middle income group.. but after ai , Quantum sc and few moree revolutionary domains bsc msc started getting demand after 2015 ..so for next 20/30 yrs msc can be lucrative industry career also

Dhanyabad. Par meri Hindi utni achchi nahi hain. Ruk ruk ke bolna parta hain.
as someone who just took the jee and belongs to the former category, this was incredibly helpful
I was torn between engineering physics and core physics for my interests lie in the domain of physics and eventually academia.
If you have the stamina and long-term tenacity to pursue academia, Physics can be a great choice. It also leaves a lots of doors open in the future to go into diverse specializations later on.
thanks for this vdo sir !
Thanks Sir, for your suggestions

Thank you, Sir.
mind blowing talk sir. I am from west bengal.
Thank u so much sir for informative and useful video
Sir, please use simple hindi. Its very hard to process superior hindi you are speaking. Thank you for your time and making this wonderful video.
You can switch on the English captions with one click. These captions were written by me and were not auto-generated, so the message in captions correspond exactly to what I said in Hindi.
@@Prof_JC Thank you Sir
Very Nice Thank you so much.

You are such a lovely professor. The sweet hindi was so calming. Sir, are the fields of civil and mechanical saturated or one can expect a student to pursue meaning research in applied fields by pursuing mech or civil in IITs.
Thank you for the kind words! If you are really interested in research then Mechanical and Civil can be really, really exciting. At the highest levels, the research you will do is mostly applied Physics and it can be tremendously intellectually challenging and fulfilling.
@@Prof_JC Thankyou sir. Much appreciate your response.
Good evening Professor. Have been a keen follower of your videos and found some of the videos to be very genuine and crucial for all concerned. Thanks for sharing your thoughts. It would be great help if you could share your views on the below aspect, my son is interested to pursue his interest in Physics and is likely to get in IIT KGP BS Physics and has also cleared his IAT with a rank that could get him into IISER pune or kolkatta. All the choices are good but it is becoming difficult to choose one over the other. Would be greatful if you could provide your personal views.
Sir please give me a advice that Should I join online course or join a tier 3 College😢
pros & cons Please tell ...🙏
related to Packages & internships🤔🙏🙏
Sir , please make some videos about roadmap for 1st year students and which skills should we learn so that it'll help us for placements
THANK YOU SIR,U R WELCOME
Sir,
I completely agree with you
Most Indians become parents without any idea of what it is involved in bringing up a child. The fault lies in the value system of Indian society. Personal desires and power play replaces true love and understanding. Dominant parent coerces his (often)/her partner in the ritualistic destruction of their child to fit into the value system of a heartless society. What a waste!
It is a sad scene.
Dear professor,
I wish to pursue research studies, but these days I'm struggling at literature review studies.
Aapke toh L laag gye
@@Prof_JC thank you so much for prompt reply Sir 🙏 Yes I am talking about BS (Eco) from IIT. Kindly cover this branch also in future videos for awareness 🙏
Thank you Sir for the vauable guidance
