A website that is not properly set up with Cloudflare and has database issues. Someone needs an experienced WordPress tech. Lol *Error establishing a database connection* has nothing to do with site traffic. Someone just clearly isn't tech-savvy. SMH

Have been so confused about what she’s debuting ... what the big reveal was!
I don't want this to come out wrong and I'd love to have a respectful conversation about this, but I feel like Lydia exclusively focuses on the appearance of things, to me there doesn't seem to be a true love or passion for the things she does. Her obsessions are all over the place and usually involve some sort of instant gratification. When you watch vlogs from a few years ago you can really see how distant and cold she's become.
Buying fully grown plants and flowers to decorate a greenhouse, growing vegetables in 6 giant beds when she barely eats or likes any, re-branding a blog that is flooded with grammatical errors...it seems to always come down to aesthetics, there doesn't seem to be more thought or depth behind it. Growing older doesn't automatically mean you've grown as a person. As she said in this video "your content speaks for itself" and if this is the message I and others may be getting, I don't think an aesthetic re-brand will be enough to change that. Researching and being knowledgeable of the brands she promotes and partners with (sharing background info, proper pronunciation, behind the scenes access), having discount codes that work, engaging with her audience instead of deleting negative feedback, being open to constructive criticism... All of this would go a long way into re-building her brand, not just buying a new image to hide a damaged one.

I love the idea of updating branding and I love the idea of the upgrade you're doing to your platform. Congratulations! However, honestly, I have to say that if you, meaning *you* and not as one of your 'team', are not going to be involved and communicating with your followers, it's going to be hard to support it. You are so talented! ;-) You have such a talent for promoting, advising, for creating and for excellence beyond your years...but you don't seem to want to talk to your followers. You are 33, but others are older and have the experience to know things that maybe you don't know yet, and when you ask for advise, I seldom see you engaging with followers. I hear you talk about 'your team', but how can people get behind a brand that they don't feel the creator even likes her followers? I see that you will communicate with your UA-cam followers with whom you have existing relationships; but you, as you, don't seem to want to communicate with us. I feel connected to all the UA-cam channels creators -- it's clear that they aren't afraid of their followers. I know that my comment will likely draw the ire of your supporters, but it's meant to be helpful, it's meant to be supportive. I think if you begin to talk genuinely to your followers, even those with constructive criticism like I have... you'll see incredible growth. I'd love to see you grow into the 21st century Martha Stewart...! ;-)
I agree. I follow several influencers (horrible title) and make comments whenever I feel strongly about something. More often than not, I get a reply or a like in return. It takes a second to do but always makes the subscriber feel valued. I never bother with Lydia as know she will not acknowledge

Ironically, the fact that your comment has a whopping 100 likes, and yet Lydia has not replied to or “liked” it, kinda proves your point! Sure, she does not have time to reply to every single video comment....but replying to one or two “top comments” is not impossible.....
@@llxxblondiexxll I’m a great fan of Lydia and obviously love her content but it takes very little to make a subscriber feel part of that community by a quick like at the least. I know I’d try to do it. But I know how she may take this observation! No disparagement meant at all.
Just an idea, possibly not too late. Running an irrigation system would enable you to set the time for watering you beds. As you develop your garden it will ensure that regardless of how your day to day evolves, everything still gets watered.

I’ve loved watching you evolve over the years especially as I feel like I’m growing and evolving and my tastes and interests are changing. With life so busy these days, it’s nice to watch your videos for some gentle downtime with simple grounding pleasures.
Hydrangeas are woodland edge plants which like part shade & damp conditions. The shouldn’t be in pots or in greenhouses- and flower in late summer Autumn. The plants you have are forced in greenhouse so they look pretty & can be sold early in year in garden centres.
My husband is a gardener by trade and he has suggested copper tape/pipe to repel slugs/snails if you ever have an issue with them eating your plants. They sell it on Amazon ☺️

Be careful with your wild garlic Lydia. Once it takes it goes mad and spreads like crazy. The way it spreads is through the white flowers. My garden was taken over by wild garlic and to get rid of areas where you don’t want it you have to dig the bulbs up. To stop it spreading you need to pinch out and carefully dispose of the white flowers. If you leave the white flowers to blossom then they will detach from the plant and float all over your garden and seed itself everywhere. Sounds lovely but believe me, it’s a nightmare when it gets out of control 🙈
Your blog/website is like your ‘online home’ and it looks amazing! So happy for you that you now have an even as amazing online home as real life home ❤️ The branding is SO on point and well done! I don’t think everyone understands how much work and pre-work and brainstorming and perfecting it takes to make a 2021+ website that suits you sooo perfectly. Well done to Chloé Digital.

Feeling really sorry for Lydia. She will do a high end fashion haul like Hermès or Dior and the comment section will be full of people calling her shallow and materialistic and condescendingly reminding her that “there’s more to life.” She will do a low end fashion haul like H&M and the comment section will be full of people telling her that she is destroying the planet, she’s shallow and materialistic and only cares about brand deals and making money. She does a home video and her comment section will be full of people telling her that she is wasting her money, that she will never be happy with her house, that she’s so shallow and materialistic, and “there is more to life than buying things.” She does a predominantly garden video like this one and its full of comments telling her that the gardening content is boring and she needs to do more fashion and home content. The woman can’t win...and people wonder why she doesn’t seem to want to “engage with her audience.” I think you are doing an incredible job Lydia. You are doing an amazing job at balancing all of the different aspects of you content and showing your various passions.

I absolutely love how you’ve gone from growing a few seeds on your kitchen window to being a fully fledged plant mum! It really shows how much joy it gives you. A tip for peas, just cut some flattish branches from your trees and stick them in the ground. They look surprisingly beautiful. Congrats on your new site it’s beautiful! Strawberries are ‘’conquering’’ plants! They will end up covering the whole bed!
I think it would be better to plant them in the ground around the Greenhouse. They grow their parts like tentacles and they are growing roots there, so they end up covering more and more ground!

I sadly have to agree. I’m 9 mins in and I’m finding myself looking at the comments instead. Too much gardening for me personally but I guess there are people who’ll love it too. Hoping it’s just because everything is closed etc. I’m sure we will see more variety when we can all get out more! Xx

The UK doesn’t even come close to what India is going through - it’s an absolute nightmare there. Take a look at the news some time - there are lots of fundraisers going on to try and help them.
How do you know she's not doing that? Just cos she's on the screen doesn't mean she isn't doing something behind the scenes. Plus pls keep this energy for other UA-cam creators. Jus saying!!!!
Stay off the news and focus on your own life/happiness. A lot of “the news” is propaganda and just “feeding the fear”.

Congratulations on your new site! I’ve been blogging since 2006 and it’s amazing to see how my site has evolved from then. I think that those of us who started early on via blogging will always have a special love for it. I’m constantly amazed by the people who reach out to me about posts that I wrote years ago! You’re smart to built out your website. I also work professionally in social media for large companies and we’ve always thought of social media as incredibly valuable but also as “rented land.” As in, you don’t own the channels, so Facebook, Instagram etc can tweak their algorithms, make changes in advertising policies, etc at any time. People that build businesses reliant only on those sites are especially vulnerable to platform changes. As such, having your website as the home for it all is very strategic. I cannot wait to see it when it’s live! ❤️

Hey! Before it’s too late and you have everything planted, just run irrigation under the dirt so you can set a timer everyday during spring/summer to make sure everything gets watered everyday at the same time.

A few vlogs ago I commented that you seem yourself again, in this vlog it is so apparent that you are passionate again. Monday’s vlog lacked the luster this has. Please just do what makes you happy. We can tell the difference so take a break if you need it, your best blogs are when you are happy.

Her lifestyle is changing, and she's just sharing what she's passionate about. I think most of her time would be taken up with gardening now, so if she had seperate channels or videos specific to each topic, the fashion vids would be very few and far between.

As someone who’s been following you for years and years (here on UA-cam and Instagram) I think I can probably speak for the majority when I say that, when I get on my phone to watch UA-cam videos, that’s exactly where it ends for the most part. I just get on UA-cam and binge all the content in my subscription box.
Links are amazing and an informative info box is always appreciated, but I can say that I’ll probably only check for a link every once in a while. I love your content but even so, your website isn’t something I’m interested in because I’m not really trying to visit separate domains for different people I follow.
UA-cam gives me the content from hundreds of creators that I’m interested in in one app. If everyone started putting so much focus on their website and just sending us away to a blog it would ruin the experience here on UA-cam.
It’s great that you’re so excited for your new website but I think you talking it up was just sort of disappointing because, well, it’s just a website. Redesign or not.
But again, I hope you take what I’ve said lightly. It’s my opinion. You said you wanted to hear our feedback so it’s just that.

Lydia, I love the change from fashion to fashion+ gardening+ house. I don't watch the news either because I find it so damn depressing that I can't put it out of my mind.
I've never watched news, because it is always negative, it's just too much when you keep hearing of all the terrible things happening
I personally love any of the content you put out. Your authentic self is very slow paced, relaxed but also chatty. It’s exactly what I want to watch when I’m looking for an escape. (Usually in the bath with a glass of wine) I’m 24, engaged, planning a wedding and living in our first home/garden. I’m on a completely different stage of life to you, and can’t relate to money or greenhouse or anything else. But I can relate to your realness. Your calm spirit etc. Go for it!!! I save those glass corks on wine bottles - they fit almost any wine bottle (once you get a little collection of them) and look nicer than plastic things and seal better than an 'opened' cork, to re-'seal' open bottles. Or use a pretty no-paper-label wine bottle to make a bottle of real lemonade and seal it with the glass cork.

Try putting down mulch on your garden beds. Mulch reduces water evaporation therefore less watering now you are coming to summer, even if it is an English summer and reduces pests. Loving the changes in your channel. Kind regards from Perth Australia.

Asparagus! So happy we planted ours, I think this will be the fifth growing season - we did our first full harvest last year - yum! I have a bed that's about 2x3m, and I have four rows of five plants (planted on the short axis, as I could get more in). There's enough room between the rows so I can get in and harvest etc, and I have supports in for the end of the summer after we've stopped harvesting (we tend to stop about the end of June, so the plants can recover and gather energy for next year). We didn't harvest the first year, and then only harvested half of the spears the second and third year. 💕
I don't expect anything from you except to live your life, find joy in the things that make you happy and feel blessed when you share it with me. I have always thought that you've spent the majority of your adult life working to foster rapport and build relationships with brands. It's how you make your living. You are a fashion blogger and UA-camr. You're also someone that is building a home with her husband. Sharing those processes is part of what I love about you, Ali and both your channels. Should you one day respond to one of my comments, I'd be pleased as punch. If you don't, oh well. You have a busy life. You can't be everywhere all the time. For people to expect that from you, is silly. I hope you continue to find joy in all the things that make you happy. I thank you for sharing what you do with us. There are some that have respectfully given constructive ideas on how you can achieve more success, give them a chance. For the others, feeling entitled enough to be rude, just ignore them.

For the cabbage moths use the following:
Homemade Spray
Simply mix equal quantities of white flour and boiling water into a smooth paste. Dilute with enough cold water to make the liquid sprayable, and treat affected leaves. As the mixture dries, the flour 'glues' the caterpillars in place and suffocates them.
While this homemade spray is chemically safe, it can also spell trouble for beneficial insects, so use with care
Also these moths are territorial and you can buy decoy moths for about 5 quid. Probably teh most eco friendly also marigolds work well

Don't know why so many people are complaining about garden content, but I am LIVING for it!! Much preferred over luxury fashion and makeup content these days 😅 makeup channels are slowly dying imo
Danielaanna - I think it might be just a matter of balance. If she sprinkled the garden amongst other things that she was doing, it would be more interesting. (That's only my 'take' on it - I could be wrong). I've been gardening for 25 years, so I'm not saying I hate her doing gardening content - she would do better to mix it up a bit. xx
La Mer, La Praire, Revive, Decleor & Caudalie are all very very good brands. As a Caudalie user, I love all their products, because they are organic and made from grape seeds and they all are very very good, especially their Face Mist is very very hot product and I suggest you should try that. I'm sure you'll like Caudalie's all products.

A gardening tip for you
If you have the chance of rain, collect some rain water to water the plants for your veg and plants.
Reason being that the water is more natural and has more minerals. Chemical free water as well. But do ensure no mosquitoes are able to breed there though :) cover the water and store them away. Not to mention it saves on your bills
I'm so glad you mentioned India. People in first world countries, have no idea what people in 3rd world countries are going through. We lost our business partner in Mozambique to Covid in January. My husband also lost his sister and her husband in January and they had access to good health care here in South Africa. We have a very serious strain of the virus and because of that, 3 people very close to us, died within 4 days of each other. There may not be many deaths in other parts of the world, but when it touches your life personally, it's really tough xo

I cannot get to your site. It tells me "Your PHP installation appears to be missing the MySQL extension which is required by WordPress". Not sure if that means something is wrong with my system.
I got that too when I tried on phone, but could access (albeit slow) when I'm on my desktop. Not sure why!

Lydia if you have trouble with spacing plants I’ve heard good things about the book “Square Foot Gardening” the author uses a standard guide to layout a bed and then every plant is listed to how many fit per section. There is also tips for growing and composting. Best of luck in your garden it’s looking gorgeous!

You could also cover your spinach with tulle. Only the smallest bugs can get thru and the sunshine is not blocked.
Lydia, those pretty white butterflies you mentioned that eat your rocket will massacre your cauliflower and broccoli plants. I had a brassica massacre last year and all down to cabbage white butterfly and cabbage root fly. Please net them from day one to protect. Good luck.X

Have you ever tried Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish that comes with a Muslin Cloth? I’ve been using it for years and it’s soo good, really gentle and all natural for your skin, so shouldn’t sting.
