I was curious if you’d heard the live Pavarotti renditions- obviously his tempi are all over the place, but one this his pianist does is add octaves in the left hand that I think enhance the emotion behind the poetry and singing. Even though it isn’t true to what Tosti wrote, I found it pretty great, and whenever I have a powerful tenor singer performing this who can match the volume, I include the lower octaves as well. In a recital setting as an encore, it can be a real crowd pleaser. Thanks again!
