This is awesome! Why did they delete it? It has Pulp Fiction and Full Metal Jacket undertones. Was it because of the race stuff at the end? Edit: They should have totally mixed this with the official intro

i can answer this better when i listen to the commentary after im done moving. but usually its time. they have to try to stay under a certain mark or they think the scenes may not fit well and throw the flow off even if they are good scenes.
I personally didn't know anyone who lost their lives in the 9/11 attacks, but I can attest that watching it was quite upsetting. Even though I had planned on going into the military after school, originally I was planning on going to college first, but after the GWOT broke out I enlisted right after high school out of fear the war would be over and lose my chance at vengeance. Different times and attacks, but I feel like I can relate to the idea behind wanting to avenge a country or organization you feel a lot of loyalty too.
I remember Beirut. I would have been in junior high. I think it was disturbing to everybody. A lot of people were upset about it for a long time. I think, in the end, two things really bothered people: one, we were originally there as peacekeepers, and for the most part had tried to remain neutral. Second, the perimeter security had their ammo taken away to prevent any shooting that could cause an international incident. So it's understandable people were upset.
From the book his dad is an Nam Air Force vet .Seofford wants to join the corps and he’s a kid when beruit happens . The equivalent of my generations 9-11 or a Pearl Harbor just and attack on our country that kissed people off . He was a boy watching who swore he’d join the corps when able too.
The marine corps is the only branch that doesn't need congressional approval to be deployed. This might be a bit bias but it's a more elite smaller version of the army that can be used as a shock troop force as the army rolls in behind us.
Imagine a world where the efficiency of the marine corps educated children of all denominations.
They were called The Spartans.
but without the military industrial complex.
Ancient Sparta.
"Efficiency "
I got bad news bro
@@jonathanwatanabe8246 but spartans were gay, weren't they?
This one scene is better than jarhead 2 and 3 combined
2 and 3 has 0 to do with the book or the original movie
I just had to watch a few scenes from 2 and 3 to realize that they are garbage.
Once a Marine, always a Marine...
This scene is why I joined

OUTSTANDING!!
Reminds me of stuff my own uncle used to tell me growing up. lol
Wish Rockwell was in this but I think they got it right with the first edit. Great movie. One of the best war movies ever !
Sam Rockwell sure kept his career going but super lowkey, now he's sure in big screen films now
Sam Rockwell is the goat 🤣
such an amazing bit of acting
It would have been perfect if they showed the other side having that exact same conversation
This is awesome! Why did they delete it?
It has Pulp Fiction and Full Metal Jacket undertones.
Was it because of the race stuff at the end?
Edit: They should have totally mixed this with the official intro
imo it changed the tone of the movie. good scene but made the film look less serious and maybe timing.
what race stuff bro
My thoughts exactly, a good edit could have succesfully merged the two.
Nava fkn Jo lol
Love the scene as a stand alone, very pulp as u said. but agree with others it does t quite fit the tone of the film.
This is pretty much a parody of Pulp Fiction.
i always thought the same thing lol

I think the "You are no longet black or brown or yellow or red. You. Are now GREEN." line was better
This scene is right before that
It'll never hold a candlelight to R.Lee Ermey's speech.
