I never would have got my carburetor assembled the first time without this video. Well done and thank you.

I used this video as a guide to rebuild my Marvel Schebler TSX860 for my 63 John Deere.
Just two differences I noticed. My emulsion tube had a jet under it and my choke shaft is spring loaded. Other than color pretty close. Set my idle needle to two turns per manual and backed out my load(main) needle four turns. Once started and warm I ran at full throttle and turned in my load needle until it ran rough then backed off one full turn. Never touched the idle needle. My tractor never ran better. Fired right up first try. Smooth no smoke. Thrilled!
    Great video Rachel!!!

I am rebuilding the carburetor on my Case VAO. I had it split and removed the jets, remove the throttle plate end shaft. Next came the choke plate and shaft. I went to UA-cam to figure out how to get that damn choke plate off. This video showed me how to take it off and put it on. There is an easier way I discovered because I had to take the choke shaft back out because I forgot to put the spring back on. Just push on the trapdoor through the space where your Barrel goes while pulling on it with either your fingers or a small pair of needle-nose and it comes right off. Putting it back on is the same step but in reverse.

We just moved to Goodrich, MI, and have a small farm off Dutch Road.
We stopped by the Steiner store in Lennon, Mi, and boy were we disappointed in the rudeness of its sales staff.
My husband took a picture of me sitting in the store and the sales clerk said there's no taking photos inside the store! He further went on to say they signed legal documentation to prevent photos from being taken.
We were berated and made to feel shame... (We won't be going back there again, and they should have a sign that says no cameras allowed!). Shame on Steiner ....

The one on my tractor 8N, had the two holes in the throat clogged shut. I used a torch head cleaner which worked well. The wires are serrated to clean the debris out. Good informative video.

Good morning, Rachel. It's a delicate job. This klepter is in cars and tractors. We have to watch it regularly so we don't lose fuel or engine power.

I took the carb off my VAC more times than I care to remember. Tank was starting to deteriate and it would get into the carb about once a year. Nice part was it was a fast easy thing to do.

My gramps had a walk-behind rig. We had a mower, a plow, and rototiller attachments. The brand markings were long worn off. The engine was a Kohler. It sat for many years with bad gas in it. Such had turned into something that resembled prehistoric amber. Had access to an ultrasonic cleaner. It took awhile to clean but I was ultimately able to rehabilitate the carburetor. (could have simply acquired a new carburetor, but I like the PHAD "no parts required" approach. Ivan rocks. Eric O. rocks). The rig was a beast until the transfer case turned into metal mush...

Rachel, I just got my John Deere 1951 B tractor. It has been restored. I want to replace the motor oil (flush it first) and flush the Hydraulics. It is my first ever owning a tractor. Can you show me how to replace the oil and hydraulic fluid? What oil should I use and what hydraulic fluid should I use. How do I flush the engine? and how do I flush the transmission? Your help will be greatly appreciated. Oh, it has an exhaust leak at the exhaust manifold and engine block. Where can I get a new gasket?

    Hello
I have a problem with the coolant tap in the Ford 2000, the tap looks like a butterfly with a tube in the middle. I wanted to change the coolant, I turned the tap to the right and left, nothing wanted to go. After starting the engine, it started to fly, turning the butterfly does not leak. How is it supposed to work?

Magnificent tutorials as always! Your knowledge and skill are appreciated! Question: I have an opportunity to purchase a running/functioning, relatively clean, '49 8N. The seller is including a box blade, Harrow/Disc, and a 3 point trailer hitch. What would be a good price generally speaking for all this? I know it's hard to consider without actually looking the equipment over yourselves, but I am interested in offering a fair price for this equipment. any insight would be greatly appreciated. Do prices fluctuate by state or are these units consistent across state lines? Thanks!

I just bought a mf165 that has not been running for years. The fellow that had it had pulled the carb to clean it and destroyed the venturi. I need one of them. I sure don't want to buy a carburetor because of that since the cheapest one I can find is 600 dollars plus a 150 dollar core charge.

Sorry, but I feel if you want to educate people, you would have shown us how to remove the idle jet. I don't care if it was idling perfectly, what if it wasn't? If I buy a comprehensive kit, I want every part I purchased to be put into my rebuild. No offense intended, I love love your videos!

    • @scanner-rentals822
      @scanner-rentals822 Рік тому

The idle jet has a 10/32 thread. If the slot on the top of the jet is mangled and you are unable to unscrew it out, you can use a drill bit to widen the hole, and get a #1 screw Extractor into it and remove it. Then use at 10/32 bottom tap to chase the threads clean. The original hole in the idle jet is .032", so if you can clean it out and open it to spec, you don't need to remove it unless you WANT to.
