And even if we disposed of that waste outright, we'd be able to manage it. It has an incredibly small footprint. Get with the times.

This is saddening. Just because people are too unintelligent to understand her response, that doesn't mean her response wasn't good. Everything she said was true. The climate does not intantly go back to normal at net zero. It takes hundreds of years for it to go back to normal, and it can only do that if we use carbon capture and then bury the carbon rather than burning it again.

She understands exactly what he's saying. Much like doctor's, when you are in a position like that, saying anything that isn't a blanket statement means you are committing to word. You are touting your credibility, and you are putting yourself liable. That's why she fixated ONLY on stopping the level of increase or keeping it within this margin, not how much lower the climate needs to go down, which is a harder thing. Climate change, does have some bearing, but we're tackling it in the literal worst ways possible. Because it's not about climate change, not really. It's about white knighting, siphoning more money out of people who can't afford things to hoard power over them, and controlling every aspect of their life.

The cheapest electric car, the nissan leaf, starts at 30k. The cheapest new ICE car is the nissan versa, at 16k. People want them, but can’t afford them.

It is IMPOSSIBLE to generate enough electricity to charge electric vehicles if we replace them all. And anyone hear of a truck, tractor or harvester that runs for a useful amount of time on batteries? No, that's impossible too, and always will be.
There isn't enough rare earth minerals on earth to build enough batteries to replace every car in the US, let alone the rest of the world, with an EV. Every part of this forced change is prototypical command economy stupidity. The government is handing down (illegal) mandates that they know are impossible. It's just a scam intended to allow them to steal infinite money.
80% of the US electricity is generated from burning fossil fuels. The amount of people who don't realize this is staggering.
The first EV was invented in 1888. The second attempt was made in the 1990's. And we have this latest attempt. They have all failed. They were and still are a fad that only the elite can reasonably afford unless subsidized by the government. They have never been a viable alternative to the Internal Combustion fossil fueled engine. And will not be for the foreseeable future.

If consumers wanted electric vehicles and electric vehicles were genuinely superior products the consumers would make that technology advancement for themselves. The government *forcing* an objectively inferior technology onto the general populace is never a good idea. When people are trying to understand why a government organization is ignoring very apparently simple issues such as earth's greenhouse effect is always in saturation from the strong greenhouse gas water vapor and can't have its overall effect changed, it helps understanding to be able to diagnose the person in charge is clueless.
These people say sever weather is increasing. They also say we have been moving to NET zero for a decade. So, the observable fact is that moving to NET zero has increased sever weather not decreased it.
The figures show that there are less extreme weather events, rather than more.

It is all about control today and not about temperatures in the future. What is the optimal global temperature for maximal production? Answer that and then let's address climate spending.
The cause of global warming is not known. Earth's greenhouse effect is always in saturation from water vapor leaving no mechanism that would allow greenhouse gas behavior to cause global warming. Global warming has been paused at about 1°C for over thirty years with officially global warming being reported at 1.1°C in 1991 and 1.06°C in 2022.
There is no science plausible mechanism for greenhouse gas behavior to effect climate. The back of the United Nation's IPCC science report states it took its greenhouse gas samples at 20,000 meters altitude where it is high school level knowledge there is no greenhouse radiant energy. The authors have been legally transparent with their data protecting them from fraud prosecution. This is typical deceptive marketing practice.
I find it sad how we have hundreds of scientists worldwide trying to model extremely complex variables that would not be able to provide an accurate answer, and she is expected to do so. These hearings are "here is an absurd, badly-constructed and simplistic question" followed by "here is completely evasive response". Every time. I see no progress or shared understanding being created. Meanwhile, the actual answer probably would be something like "unless mankind can stop the increase of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere, the upper limit is probably in the hundreds of degrees (as more and more of the sun's energy is retained), well past societal and environmental collapse. And BTW, the first to suffer from that would be the poor. The poor by definition suffer first, as being rich is basically a cushion."
The world record temperature was taken in 1913 - 111 years ago. The record Irish temperature I think 1887 - 137 years ago. The record UK temperature for April the month we are in 1949 - 75 years ago. The lady is clearly confused and misleading us all.

Venus is not only closer to the sun but also has a very dense atmosphere which acts as a better heat trap as opposed to titans misty haze atmosphere which allows the heat to escape easier. Earth is similar with a thinner atmosphere to allow heat to escape. Our ozone has been impacted by pollution yes, which has opened holes which allows dangerous rays from the sun to enter our atmosphere which would otherwise not. But it also allows for more heat to escape at the same rate. Kinda weird how that works. The government would have a much better argument with the people if they discussed the ozone and atmospheric qualities than they ever will trying to tell people climate change is the problem. The climate does and has always changed. None of that is directly or indirectly effected by man enough to swing one way or another. Atmospheric damages however are an entirely different beast all together. I know I can come across as some knuckle dragging neanderthal. Lol. But I assure you I'm more educated than I appear 😂. Earths atmosphere as it stands today. Is 0.04% of our atmosphere. If you drop co2 in the atmosphere to 0.02% all plant life would cease to exist. Which in turn would cause every species in existence to die. We are far from danger levels. You also have to understand the very things that allow us to breath by producing oxygen. The earth has 4 seasons. Each one has precipitation. The rain drops methane levels. We will never have a global melt down. Unless a war produces it with fire. The N word. We are still waiting on the Ice age over the great Lakes. 1970's. It was considered a huge catastrophe. People moved out if the state in fear. So now a huge global warming. Fear to scare people to get there agenda. Mother nature will do what it wants, next will be how to plug volcanoes? Not a scientist, just an older lady that has lived through the imaginary ice age.
