An illustrator's studio houseplant tour

Just a brief tour of all of my studio houseplants! Over the years I've found myself surrounded by more and more indoor greenery, which really helps the long studio hours pass by more gently.
Please note that many of the houseplants in my collection are toxic to pets (luckily Ciao is deeply uninterested in them), so please be wary if you are buying new ones as a pet owner.

I always had lots of house plants as a kid but then got out of the habit when I got into outside gardening. But recently I’ve rediscovered my love of indoor plants when I bought a wardian case for some African violets that thrived inside. Now I have a whole corner by a window jammed with happy green stuff.
I did have an incredibly beautiful begonia that was covered with double blooms but got an ant infestation before I could figure out what was going on and they killed it!
But now I know to be on guard and place little ant traps in all my pots.

Beautiful! How very lucky you are to have a cat not interested in plants. My Willa wants to bat at, play with and rip up plants. I have to keep them all up high.

Suggestion take the syngonium out of that pot. I bought same pot at Lowes and every plant I placed there struggled badly and eventually i had to move before it died. I don't know if it is the design but an observation. When I took those plants out they thrived.

I've had those Calatheas for about a year and a half so I guess you could say they're "getting by"... They really do deserve more light than they're getting tho ;(
