Thank you for your tips. I live in 4 season climate and have to put the tree indoors mid September. Harvest around 1.5kg of lemons a year only. So for me, some of these tips are actually crucial.
I have two lemon trees on my balcony in london. They are doing surprisingly well in our climate! Looking forward to picking some tomorrow and making a cake and more. Thanks for your video
Trae Green from the time the Lemon forms to being ripe is about 6 months approx. Each variety are slightly different. But if you have a long growing season, your Lemon Tree will continue to push out new lemons through the entire season. 🌻👩🏼🌾
I don’t believe so. A Lemon will turn Yellow when ready. The timing of when it turns yellow will depend on the weather. Some slower and some faster depending on the warmer weather.
@@hillsideurbangarden1380 oh good, because I made some lemonade and then saw your video and got worried haha! No brown, but they were very large lemons and super juicy.
Have you heard of “Water Spouts”? This is when your Citrus tree grows new branches that grow almost straight up. These new “water spout” branches grow very fast and are usually very green, mine will even have very big Thorns as well. Also check to see if you have any growth that is coming from below the graft from the rootstock. Both of these issues will produce healthy looking growth, but No fruit. If you find you have these branches, I recommend you cut them back close to the stock, then fertilize. Your tree may look sparse after the trimming, but this will give the tree more strength to now produce fruit instead of branches! I found some of these water spouts on one of my lemon trees last week, I will make a video and post next week on what you can do. Thank for you question.
the only problem i have with our lemon tree is the bugs. almost every other day I go outside and find that one of the lemons has turned yellow when it's not ready. of course its cuz some bug has burrowed it's way into it and destroyed it. I've tried using all sorts of stuff to get rid of these bugs but nothing seems to work. any one know what to use?
Check with the Master Gardener program in your area. They will know what bug it is and how to treat it. You can also check with your local college to see if they have a professor on staff that might be able to help as well. I wonder if you cover the tree with a fine netting that it might keep out your bugs? Just make sure the bugs are not living in the soil around your tree. Send me an update will be helpful for all to learn what you find out. Thank you.
@@hillsideurbangarden1380 as far as I know it looks like some kind of flying insect. it burrows into the lemon and then covers the hole with something that looks like sap. I think it lays eggs in there and then covers the hole and just takes off. I was looking at the lemons today and found a few more had been destroyed, about 3. this is like every day.

Enjoy your fresh Lemons! Happy to hear they are growing well in London 😎🌻👩🏼🌾
@@hillsideurbangarden1380 Picked one and made a lemon drizzle cake. Very slightly green skin so very fresh and sweet tasting lemon. Thanks!!!
Great video.
Full of information and none of the fluff.
Lovely Lady.
Just the info I was looking for. Thanks.
Been eating meyer lemon trees for years, thought limes were too strong but now I'm obsessed with limes :I
Awesome 😎
Thanks for the helpful tips! Do you recommend just yanking them off the tree or using clippers to pick them?
Always use a clipper if you can. If you pick them by hand, twist them until they release, this way you are not tugging on the branch. 👩🏼🌾🌻
How long would you say it takes for the lemon to turn yellow

@@hillsideurbangarden1380 ohhhh okay, thank you ❤️
When you cut the lemon open, if there is some space between the peel and fruit, has it gone bad?
Thank you James for your question…..as long as there is no brown inside, most likely it is fine. 🌻👩🏼🌾

Hi. Why would my lemon tree be very large but produce a lot less lemons?
