Thank you for your question! When we are dealing with fractions, we want to find a common denominator so that we can add or subtract the fractions. In this case, the least common denominator (LCD) would be 12. However, we can also just multiply the denominators to get the same result. So, in this case, we multiplied the denominators (6 and 4) to get 24.
