It's hard to keep a steady tempo.
This is a Russian folk song: "Dorogoi Dlinnoyu", composed by Boris Fomin.
The popular song "Those Were the Days", by Mary Hopkin, was based on this melody.

Sound: Grand Piano 1.
Audio recorded with Behringer U-CONTROL UCA222.

Software: Adobe Audition + Adobe Premiere Pro.
I tried playing this song and thought “ew, it’s a horrible song.” Then came to see what it should sound like and was like 😯
lol literally same

BRO ME TOO RN
Elena, I agree with you. This is the most challenging piece compared with the first eight songs in book 2. The tempo of this piece is dynamically changing. At the beginning of this song, the tempo is quite slow. Then, there is a speed up in tempo after the first few bars. Congratulations to you! You played very well. Xiao
I'm really struggling with the second part of this!
i love playing this after i actually got to the rythym of it it was very easy and fun to play
Same
Well done! I'm just starting to put the two hands together and quite frankly it's not easy.
I find this song to be very challenging to learn, much harder than the songs before these. your videos help me a lot :)
im so greatful people make videos like this. I had no idea what Im suppose to be looking for when I do this, but now I have an idea
Классное исполнение. Сколько труда и попыток скрыто за этим)
You did really well in this song! I’m literally learning that song right now and I thought it was weird but when I heard it it’s amazing ❤oh! And we’re using the same book!!!!!
Thank you. Helps a lot
I love alfred’s❤️
Me has ayudado en mis clases de piano, ahora solo por zoom. Muchas gracias..
Very nice, I think the first part should be adagio though, so a lot slower than the second part. My teacher also said that that's the thing about this piece. The first and the second part differ completely from each other is terms of dynamics and feeling.
Oh and you say it's hard to keep a steady tempo, but don't worry about that. My teacher also said that you can play loosely with this piece and play the notes how you want to play them, like they don't all have to be exactly the same value.
+Eva Maas I think you're right. As the first part (adagio) is written in eighth notes and the second one (allegro) in quarter notes, I probably thought I was playing slow enough.
In fact, now I think I played the whole piece too fast.
Thank you for your comment and suggestion. ;)
You're welcome, I understand that, I always played everything too fast in the beginning. My teacher told me it's better to feel a bit slow than too fast, because then it feels hurried. I think you played the second part at a perfect pace though! :)
좋아요!!!이거보고 연습 중이예요 ~
I liked this one alott
The hardest song so far in the book, i’m currently struggling 😩
The previous songs are all quite easy

I FUCKING LIKE THAT SONG I HAVE IN MY PIANO BOOK☠️☠️

Anyone else who thinks that this reminds them of Wallace and Gromit?
Your hands are beautiful
This piece is beautiful but the first line at the top of page 39 is so hard! My fingers will not cooperate! 😢

Lol I can do most of introduction and dance on level 3 it's so hard compared to that but I think it would still be hard tho
At 0:25 you are missing a legato
0:23
Fun fact: 50 Cent sampled the intro of this song into his "when it rains it pours". I was happily surprised to find this out.
This might be the hardest song so far. Might not make it in 2 hours this time, haha.
I mean at least use *some* passion
Check out my version of this song!
Playing it blandly is good for those just wanting a standard rendition of the song as a foundation.
