You've got the message of the song correct! Les Claypool wrote this song to be about a friend of his who is a vegetarian who also can't help but to grab a burger every once in a while.
Les Claypool is a musical genius, always interesting lyrics, sometimes it's nonsense, and sometimes he has something to say. Please do more by Les! Any of it, his solo work is excellent, and so are his various side projects, particularly Duo De Twang!
the way they recorded The Brown Album is like nothing I've ever heard before. It sounds like the drums were recorded with a single mic from another room....yet it works so well. The whole thing has a warm, analog feel to it. Kalamazoo is one of my favorite tunes (it's a cover of a jazz tune if I have it right) on the album, too.
My son and I are fans when he was fourteen he got to see his first Primus show and after he was lucky enough to meet Les claypool and Les claypool let him play his bass and after he was done Les claypool said"WHEN YOU'RE MY AGE I'M GOING TO BE OUT OF A JOB"! IF I WASN'T THERE TO SEE IT I WOULDN'T HAVE BELIEVED IT!?, HE NOW PLAYS FOR CIRQUE DU SOLEIL LAS VEGAS!!. 🤗
Thats cool you figured it out while you were watching! I always knew the song meant something more than its lewd overtone. Maybe its an apology or follow up to the grammy winning Wynonna song...weird! Its also like "bobs party time lounge" which is in the same album as this.one about a dude spending his 2 week paycheck all at once...ha
Lol...Devo meets Flea meets Mudvayne....great music to put on workin around the house. Les may not agree, but Metallica passing on his services, and telling him that he was "too good" was the very best advice he could've gotten...and, they weren't lying either. Primus has their own niche' that they fill, and that's a VERY hard thing to luck up on...especially in the music world. Ya love em, or absolutely hate em lol...kinda like Slayer is within the confines of Thrash/Speed Metal. I NEVER suggest to anyone to que em up and check em out unless they've got a couple hundred other Heavy Metal/Speed/Thrash songs under their belt. Lol, it's like telling somebody that's just starting their Hip-Hop, Rap journey to listen to Die Antword (or however the hell you spell it). The stuff is wwaaayyy out of left field lol. You either love em, or hate em.
It's about shaking hands and pretending things are good, but yet there is still a "beef" between you and them, a common ground of unforgiveness that goes unspoken.
You should check out Les Claypool and the Holy Mackerel, their one album Highball With the Devil is really good, so is Les' other band Sausage and their album Riddles Are Abound Tonight

2 of my friends are exactly like that. Normaly vegetarian but by god hide everything made out of meat when they are drunk.
@@ToriTrak Well there is a slight difference between a vegetarian and vegan. Vegetarians normally don't exclude meat completely like Vegans do.
@@keithgraham8588 I quit doing heroin... but to say I don't think about it ever and want some would be a lie. Giving up meat... hell no!
Keith Graham vegetarians eat dairy while vegans avoid dairy altogether
@@scramblesthedeathdealer congratulations on sobriety sir
There is all other music, then there is Primus.
Primus sucks!
love Bryan Mantia’s heavy drumming.
Florida Hiker Brain is a beast , love watching him play with Bucket
Matt Pfarr . Check out Giant Robot - Brain Solo / Enter the Dragon . The 2nd half of the song hes hitting so hard.
@@mattpfarr5992 He's so underrated. All the nuances, the subtle bass drum triplets, the feel for the song... So good.

His lyrics are more difficult to decipher than most. For me at least. I like Beck's lyrics too.
Saw Primus live at Ozzfest 99 in Hartford, CT. Awesome line up and awesome show.
you have a great reaction. sold.

yes Kalamazoo is sort of a cover of an old Glenn Miller song from the 40s
It has Bonhamesque / Zeppelinesque rhythm
Primus will never let you down! Please do more.
The song is about temptation, referencing vegetarians who occasionally eat meat. Based on some of his friends.
Primus "sucks" 😉, and Claypool is from another dimension. ❤
Oh, please please do more primus! Those damned blue collar tweakers, wynonna's big brown beaver, DMV, my name is mud, etc
WYNONNA'S BIG BROWN BEAVER!!!
btw Primus is their own catagory on iTunes
Les claypool still holds one of the record's for being one of the most number one bass player in "GUITAR MAGAZINE" 😉
"Whaaaaat?!"
That was my first reaction to Primus, too. Right before I slid into the tasty hamburger slider repertoire of Primus.
Yes I agree with the comment below, Wynonas big brown beaver!!
The singer is AMAZING and sick ! Les Claypool is Good. Do D's Diner YOU Will Love it India..
“Tragedy’s A Comin”
Primus was always trippy whenever I he asrd any of there songs .. bass to the max though !!
Love me some primus
The concept is, they are flies on the garbage can lid.Hence the stilted movement.
Wynona's Big Brown Beaver.
By far their weirdest video!
Ay... ty... gorgeous....
Taco Bell meat being meat in ... only the most generous sense of the word. Haha! Keep up the great reactions!

You should have a listen to “Les Claypool and the holy mackerel” song “the awakening” awesome bass and drums solo.
You have now entered Willy Wonka's Music Factory, est. sometime in the 90's
Claypool Lennon Delirium "south of reality" .
love that alice tapestry behind you
Les Claypool is a genius. "Southbound Pachyderm" next.
It's a little deeper meaning than just being a vegetarian
Do Golden Boy next please! : ) So cool that you like Primus.
Tell us about the artwork in your background
Primus is awesome. Check out Over the Electric grapevine!
she almost said an exercise dyke lol
les claypool the best bassist in the world. do i hear a second....
Try John The Fisherman, Tommy The Cat, Jerry Was A Racecar Driver, DMV.
It's Primus, dear. Don't ask questions - the answers likely won't make any sense anyway.
That BASS IS SO NASTY!!. 😏
Check out rumble of the diesel..off from whales an woe...the xylophone will blow u away !!!.
How can anyone not love that bass line heavy as a anchor!! Very cute lady too
That was different.
When does the music start?
Primus Sucks!!!! More please. Maybe, "Electric Uncle Sam"?

Meat, GOOD! Carbs, BAAAD!!!! Very bad!!
It's not a vegetarian song. Shake hands with beef is straight-up a metaphor for masturbation. Which is typical Primus.
Wrong, buckeroo
If we aren't supposed to eat animals, then why are they made out of meat??
God that bass line is so dirty
Save the video plis

Isn't that fun?!!
primus sucks
I doubt a Vegan.
Beef is healthy stop every thing else to lose weight. 👍
Horse meat is good too.
@@Staklihen it's a little to sweet for me but it's not bad as kangaroo .

Ummm. I Think it's a play in words regarding playing with oneself but I could be mistaken 🤔
