- Lander and Dubois, Wyoming: So Much to See and Do!
After leaving Jackson, we headed to DuBois and Lander, Wyoming. We had a great time there heading down Louis Lake Loop Road. So many great sights on road that dropped us out at Sink Canyon, (another great stop near Lander). Plus, we made a visit to South Pass and Miner’s Delight. South Pass is a Wyoming State Park that has been set up to replicate life in the oldest parts of the town using as many of the remaining buildings redone and renovated. Then over to Miner’s Delight where the old buildings are rotting away to create an amazing ghost town. We had so much fun in the area and there’s still more to see.

Just subscribed. We are thinking about moving to WY. How windy is it?
It is pretty windy. Solar would be a good investment. 😂😂. We loved it though. It wasn’t windy all the time. What part of Wyoming are y’all thinking of moving to?
@@LivingtheSilverLife Thank you so very much for the reply. We don't have a particular town in mind but do prefer somewhere that's close to a big city so I can still go to Costco (I am a Costco addict :)) once a month. So we are looking into Evanston area that's close to Salt Lake? But it seems that Lander has better weather? My husband and I love outdoors so WY looks so appealing for so many reasons. The only challenge is that I don't handle wind too well. Maybe just need time to get used to it? : ) Many thanks again!!!
Probably, would get used to it after a while. Anytime you are on the high plains like there, you will get lots of wind. There is a lot to do. Lander and Pinedale are our favorite areas, but we haven’t actually been to the area you’re looking at. Maybe next summer. Bill is already thinking if we don’t go to Alaska , we will probably do Colorado and Wyoming.
I know what you mean about Costco. We live it too. Even living in a small place, there are things we love to get at Costco. 👍🏼❤️
@@LivingtheSilverLife we might take a longer trip in that area after this pandemic to find more about the area. You two are our inspiration! We would love to do a lot traveling in our retirement too. Can’t wait for more of your adventures! Please take good care of yourselves during this challenging time. 🙏😊

Us too. Don’t think we could handle Wyoming winters. 😂😂
The river at the 3:37 mark looks like a good place to fish. Beautiful scenery!
It is actually. Lots of fishing along the Little Popo Angie River.

@@LivingtheSilverLife You too friends!
Amazing natural world and nice music relaxing. Travelling is beautiful. Enjoy your life. All the best
Thank you! You too!
All of the landscape in these areas was beautiful! Cool that you got to walk into the mine like that! We love visiting places and learning the history of it! It is so great when places preserve old buildings and help the history. That is part of the fun part of traveling too learning the stories behind all these different areas! Thanks so much for sharing! ~ Brandon and Maggie
We love it too. Our 16 year old puppers keeps us from being able to go into museums. So these open outdoor areas full of history are our favorite way to view our history. We don’t do much that he doesn’t go with us. He has separation anxiety. At his age, we will make a few sacrifices as to where we can go and do. We get to do a lot. 😂
You have some great places to camp. I'm not jealous😂 Thanks for sharing👍Mark& Coral
Thanks. We have been lucky, but y’all have stayed in some great spots too. ❤️👍🏼😂
That was neat about the river Underground incomes back up thank you so much for sharing such great information
It really is. I wish I’d gotten a better picture instead of just a freeze frame at the spot. 👍🏼
I'd like to see Dubois Museum. That looks very cool. Louis Lake Road looks like a nice drive. We enjoyed in Wyoming. Great video.
Thank you. We thoroughly enjoyed Wyoming.
What beautiful drives you went on. ...loved the fixer upper by the River 😂 Lots of things to see and experience in the area. And it was a just a little windy 😂
Just a tad windy. Wyoming is definitely windy. I’m sure Chip and JoAnn would be happy to go to Wyoming to fix that up for you if you want it. 😂😂
@@LivingtheSilverLife we would add an addition to put the RV under of course 😂
Another great road trip. Love the stops you made! Love the history!
Thank you. 👍🏼. Us too.
Awesome place, amazing nature, very good guide.
We appreciate you support. 👍🏼
Such a beautiful area. Those cabins looked really nice to rent. Beautiful scenery. Thanks for sharing!!
Thank you.
Really nice cabins in the campground that you showed me today thank you so much and the little waterfall was very pretty too I appreciate these videos so much
You are so welcome. Glad we can help you venture out of the house during California’s lock down. Be careful!!
Wow, very beautiful ❤️🙂👍👏😍
Thank you. 👍🏼
Gosh those teepees were so pretty at that campground that is a great place to visit thank you so much for sharing all the great videos with me today this was one of my favorite videos and favorite campground you have been at
We had so much fun in Wyoming, and of all the areas we visited in Wyoming this one was one of our favorites too. Thanks for coming along. 👍🏼❤️
Thanks for the tour. I did some reading up on Dubois on-line. I was interested in seeing who settled it originally. Never really figured that out. It did have an interesting history. Some of the buildings look like they were restored and maintained while others were just left to rot in the sun. It would be an expensive undertaking to keep them up. I wouldn't mind having a chance to kick around that old Blacksmith shop. Seemed like lots of beautiful old tools there. Didn't see much of Scout today, he must not have been allowed. I had no idea the badlands was such a sharp contrast to the surrounding terrain. You can see where it gets arid and dry like there is a line drawn on the ground that defines the two differing terrains. Interesting place. See,s Butch Cassidy spent some time there, even had dealings with a local red brick bank, but I guess he never got around to robbing that one. Some of the older locals claim to have seen him in the area long after he was reported killed. Nice one. Thanks for sharing it with us... TTYL>...
Looks like you did some good research. Scout was with us. We must of just missed filming him or he ended up on the cutting room floor more than I thought. Thanks for noticing though. 👍🏼. Stay safe.
Another gem; so much history in Dubois and Lander! I've never heard of Pronghorn before, how neat. Loved the underground river. Next time you travel the switchbacks, be sure to start the GoPro! I really enjoy watching your videos, your style is very elegant and informative! 👍💖~ Tim, Gracie, and Krystal
Thank you. 👍🏼. We really enjoyed this area of Wyoming. I think Bill would buy a cabin there today if we could find one he liked in a location by a river. 😂😂
cool place to vist
Thank you.
