You did a good job of showing how to do the body using the proper materials and techniques. The super glue was a nice addition

Great vid Jason,. I've loved this fly for years. My ties started like the commercial version ( very neat, packed, and stacked, ended up like your demo.I found the more beaten up the fly got, the better they fished. I also remember I started tying them with a Tungsten bead, but they just didn't work anywhere as good ( crap actually). With your underwater view I can now see why. They need the O2 in them. I truly timeless fly.
    Well done. Cheers.

For subsurface he used his sparkle pupa. Basically the same fly but without the tail and wing and he added a beard of hackle and a few wraps of lead on the same dry fly hook

However, you missed the mark on a key point that forced you into a few unforced errors. This fly was designed for fishing on the surface dead drift. Hence he tied it with a slightly fuller wing on the old Mustad 94840 dry fly hook.
