- Catching smallmouth bass is a blast however you can catch them. Even with live shad. Yes, live shad. A method Donald Hedge and Scott Turnage learned back in the 80's from the locals that fished the Tenn river near Pickwick Lake. Some of the methods have changed over the years but catching shad for smallies is a fun and different way. Its all catch and release so why not re-visit an old school way we use to catch them.
The G3 Boat used in todays episode is a beast! Check it out at:

That boat and I are alot alike. Been rode hard and put away wet a lot, it's holding up better than me though but I've been around 78 years. Those were some beautiful Smallmouth's you all we hauling in. Thanks Don for putting those guys on the fish today, I know Wes was excited to be able to catch one of those hog's and Scott I don't blame you a bit about being nervous around the Dam . They bother me too. Thanks for the great video and sharing the reinforcements on the G3 for the rough work around the dam. Stay safe and keep up the good work. OLD DAWG DREAMING Fred.
Thanks Fred. I guess we’re all getting a little rough around the edges the days.
That was awesome. I fish that way today. Like lure fishing but nothing beats live bait. And no live scope 👍
It’s fun to do for sure. Great change of pace.
That was terrible....I wasn't there. Loved it !!
those were some nice ones Scott! Enjoy the vid as always! You couldn’t have a better decked out boat for behind the dam than that.👍👍
The extra additions have certainly added years of life to his G3. That concrete is tough on a boat.
