I might try faux leather vinyl on top of cardstock paper to give it the look of a real purse! Thanks for the video!
Nice!!
You can also use aluminum foil to clean the blade also. Ball it up and poke the blade into it. Cleans great, but it does not sharpen the blade, like some people believe.
That is correct. :)
Although, I would still use cotton to get the visible glitter debris first and then use the foil for the blade for any debris not easily seen by the eye.
I am a newbie and have wanted to make one of these since I first saw the bag. I have just watched your video instructions and it’s brilliant, I am going to give it a go, tomorrow. Thank you for the inspiration. 🤗👍👍
I'm so excited for you. You'll love the end result! They are so fun.
Great job 👍🏾
Adorable!! thank you for the share. I did not know that design space had this! :)
It's in Design Space in the Community Projects, which are created by crafters like you and me, (whom do not work for Cricut). :)
Louise Beauregard shared this particular purse design. Hope my tutorial will be helpful to you. :)
Your instructions were perfect!! Thank you I made two of these last night!!!
I actually found it now, it's in the Louise Beauregard collection..... phew!!! Thanks everyone 😊
I can not wait to make this gift bag for my sisters. Thank you
Adorable!
I have a women's conference coming in July. My goal is to make 30 of these. I want to give everyone attending a glam bag
Had the same thought!
Did you just make your own wording for the word Coach?
Yes, I did. I used the 'Happy' font on Cricut Design Space. :)
I absolutely love this!! Thanks for sharing ❤️
Such a beautiful and chic purses 👜 I L🫶🏼VE the colors ❤️🔥 thank you for such a great video
So cute! What are the dimensions of the finished bag? Can I use a Cricut Explore, or does it have to be a Maker?Thank you so much for sharing all of the materials that you used. I really appreciate all of your tips!
Love the video. Have been working up the nerve to try one of these and this video definitely inspired me. I found this project on Cricut design space and it says it is $10.97, which is apparently for the fonts that they used and the embellishment. I don’t want to use them. I like your version better. How can I make it without paying for these unwanted items? Also, what font did you use for Coach?
I believe the font is "HAPPY".
I have Cricut Access, so I did not have to pay for the original design.
I don't know how to share it without Cricut charging, since my alterations still include Cricut Access fonts and images. :(
I suggest to check into Cricut Access information, maybe you can do a trial month....?...
Also, I'm so glad you found inspiration, it's not as intimidating to create as it might seem. :)
I love this! The details like the coach label and the zipper really make it ❤
Can I place an order please 🙏🏼
So glad I found this tutorial. Very easy to follow along. Thank you 😊
wonderful purses great tutorial I just subscribed to your channel tfs hugs
I am so glad that I watched this video. Loved seeing you make the bag!! Super cute!!
I'm so glad too! Thank you. :)
How long did it take you to complete one purse?
Excellent question. (The first time took the longest.) I didn't actually time myself, but I'd guess (including cutting time with the Cricut) ...it possibly took between 1-2 hours.
They look more intimidating than they are. I promise they are so enjoyable to create! :)
Why did you need a different blade for this cut? I’m new to cricket so if this is a dumb question please forgive me
Hi there. I used the fine point blade, it's the most used blade for cardstock, iron-on, adhesive vinyl and a lot more. :) The other tool I used was the scoring tool, which basically creates a crease to fold straight lines where needed or to line up layers. I also used the Debossing tool, but only a little bit to depress letters into the cardstock tag. :)
Hope this helps clear things up a little. :)
Welcome to Cricut crafting, you're going to have fun! :)
Quick question before I have to run out to the store. How many pieces of glitter cardstock did you need to use? I only have 2 12×12 pieces on hand lol I am hoping that's enough
I would say approximately 5 sheets of 12×12 cardstock (for the main purse) and 2 partial mats of material for the tags and zipper embellishments (with cardstock and/or adhesive vinyl).
There aren't words to say how much I love this!!!I Can't wait to make some for friends gifts....I might put brads on bottom for feet, but these are amazing...Thank you!
Hi can you please write down for me the list of things needed and name of all material
Thank you so much for responding i really appreciate it.. Its such a great idea.. i am kind of a newbie on Cricut Strip.. so i have a hard time finding cool project... Thank you again :)
You are welcome. I'm happy to help. :)
Can I please buy this file from someone to cut with a cameo 4 machine?
this is really cute. it sure gives the gift another level! very special ❤
Super cute! Thanks for showing this.
Can this be made with cricut explorer air 2
I believe so. Except for the Debossing tip I use for the tag.
A debossing tip is all I need to design the tags with?
@@rubyburks7366 the way I did the tag I used a Debossing tip which requires the quikswap housing in a Maker machine. However, you can do the bag without the Debossing tip and just make adjustments. :)
I believe I walk through the process in this tutorial of the blades and tools used....
Have fun creating! :)
@terahhowell so the debossing tool was only used to spell and traced the word "coach.?" I will re-watch it again thank you for your fast response
@@rubyburks7366 yes :)
you're welcome
Beautiful. Thanks for sharing 🥰
Can you use pattern scrapbook paper?
The base layer needs to be study. So, it depends. If the scrapbook paper isn't as sturdy as cardstock, then you could use it as the accent top layer.
@terahhowell yes I wanted to use as and accent but do I tape it down on card stock to get the shape for front of bag?
Thank you so much for this video. I have seen them and cut one out on my Cricut, but there were no instructions on how to put it together. Found your video using Pinterest.
You are so very welcome! :)
The original designer of this handbag has a tutorial for this. Her name is Louise Beauregard ua-cam.com/video/47p9AXRu4GE/v-deo.html
@@rain4325 thank you so much for pointing that out, however, I made some subtractions and additions to the original design within my tutorial. I have a pinned comment with Louise's links to her Cricut Joy, Maker & Explore Design Space options. Crafters can share their own take on creations. And, I've done that while acknowledging the original designer.
:)
I'm doing this tomorrow!! I'm addictive already! Great job!
This is wonderful I do need help getting the zipper looking as good as you …
I normally cut with the glitter face down. It seems to work great for me, but I notice a lot of people do what you do and cut with the glitter side up. Are there any benefits to cutting face up?
You're doing it right. That's the better way, in my opinion. However, the cutting mat will not last as long if some of the tips I mention aren't followed.
Cutting glitter side up is faster, however it will affect the blade more.
Where did you get the Coach logo svg?
I created the tag from the Shapes Tab in cricut design space using a rectangle and circle, sliced, sized, then welded together. I believe I used the font "Happy" for the Coach letters and changed from writing to a deboss setting and attached to the tag. :)
I created a project link:

At Joann or Michael's, I often use Cricut cardstock, Park Lane, DCWV and Recollections brands.
Also, I find good cardstock on Amazon, if it's not found in the stores.

How many sheets of card stock(s) & sizes do you use to make 1 purse?
It depends on how many different colors you use. For Cardstock I had about 5 mats worth (for the main gift bag/purse parts) plus I also had 3 partial mats with cardstock and adhesive vinyl (for the straps, zipper, buckles etc..). :)
Hello good work pls I need talk to you
Hello, may I ask what kind of blade is needed for the card stock???
Absolutely. A Cricut fine point blade is used to cut the cardstock pieces of the gift bag purse. :)
Will the vinyl on the buckle hold well when u put a gift in the bag and hold it from the handles?
A layer of cardstock with the vinyl will be needed. The cardstock is what gives the support. Two layers of cardstock or Cricut Kraft board would be best for support. However, I have created a few purse gift bags with one layer of cardstock and one layer of vinyl, they have held up so far. You can choose what will be the best for you. :)

You are amazing
Thank you for the inspiration….this was a great idea to use some of my digital papers with.
I think the patterned paper works great! It is more light weight and easy to glue to the cardstock base.
I'm happy to hear you are inspired.
Enjoy creating. :)
I use a little plastic container to put my little bits of vinyl or paper cutouts. Keeps them from being lost.
I don't have a maker or debossing to so what do I do
You can complete this project with any Cricut Machine. The Debossing tool is only necessary for the hanging tag, which is optional of course.
The Designer of the original bag made a Cricut Joy version as well.

For cutting, the fine point blade. :)

my cricut didnt cut the guide/fold lines is there something i can do to fix it? I see the lines on the design space and mat it just doesnt leave any kinda marks on it
Some of the design and fold lines require a scoring tool or scoring stylus. You could try a ruler to fold and then crease where needed. :)
What weight of cardstock did you use?
I used 80 lb cardstock for the base material and glitter cardstock for the accents. :) I'm sure any medium weighted cardstock would work for the base material. For the accent, using a printed paper or light weight cardstock would work great. :)

What was your measurements? I uploaded from DS but it’s small
The completed purse gift bag (not including the handle measurements) is approximately 8 inches wide, 5 1/2 inches in height and 3 3/4 inches in depth. :)
This is great ! Could you please explain the steps to deboss the word coach. Please explain each step that you took to do it. Thank you
The Debossing Tip Tool will be needed. In Cricut Design Space use the font "Happy". Type the word you would like, then go to the "operation" option and change to "deboss" and then attach it to your image in Cricut Design Space.

@@terahhowell Thank you so much
@@kkdesignsllc you're welcome. :)
Do you have instructions on how to do this if you don’t have the scoring tool for the cricut? Thanks
I would suggest using a hard plastic or metal ruler to help create a crease where needed. The scoring marks that are intended to help align the pieces on the front and back could be guesstimated by your eye. For the best results I would recommend at least a scoring stylus. Here's a link for a Cricut scoring stylus:
