Thank you so much for your video. I have wanted to make this ever since I got my cricut in January but kept making excuses, I plucked up the courage over the weekend it’s not perfect by any means but I am soooo happy. Thank you. 🤗😘
You are so very welcome Angie! Thank you so much for your lovely words, it means a lot!
I can't thank you enough for this video. I cut everything out, and then I was thinking "Now what?". LOL! I almost gave up and scrapped it all, but you saved the day.
You are so welcome! I have wasted enough card stock myself, with all my paper crafts, I am glad you didn't scrap it!
Louise, I love your pattern. What I love more is that you took consideration in the layout to accommodate for directional patterned paper. Thank you!
Your video tutorial was so easy to follow. I cut all the pieces out and then looked at it all and thought, "Oh, Oh, now what?" I followed along and finished my bag. It was very easy once you knew where everything went. I did mine in Christmas print for my granddaughters gift. Thank you so much!!
It’s kinda like a jigsaw puzzle, isn’t it? You see all those pieces it’s a little intimidating but then the pieces start clicking together and it’s very satisfying, lol!
I am in shock that you have created such an amazing project, shared it and how to assemble it and after 27k people have watched it, there's only 809 likes! Thank you so much, Louise and let me apologize for the others that haven't acknowledged your hard work with at the very least, a thumbs up because you definitely deserve it. 🤩🤩🤩
That is so very nice of you to say! So many others have made instructional videos on how to assemble it, so I am sure they are doing a much better job of it. I am a little shocked at how popular this handbag has become!
What she said :) Thanks so much, you explained it in the simplest way without confusion. Very well done indeed!!!!!
@crafty_lou7 how do I get the cut files
Thank you so much for your willingness to share your awesome creativity! Your creations are amazing! Also, thank you for the tutorials on how to assemble them. You are much appreciated!
Thank you so much Tamara!
I love your projects. I appreciate you sharing them and doing the videos.
You are so sweet Jill! Thank you so much!
Thank you so much! Finally got around to making your beautiful design and am so thankful for instructions 🙏 ☺️
I am so happy to hear Sarah! Thank you very much for letting me know!
Can I ask what type of glue you are using, bearly art or glitter art?
@@sasgrl90 I like both of them, but lately I have been using Art Glitter Glue. I like to transfer my glue into small precision tip glue applicator bottles with silicone caps. I can find them on Amazon.

Thank you for letting me know Jenny! That’s wonderful!
So cute! Thanks for sharing the pattern.
Love your attention to detail. The buckles and straps were good, but the zipper fantastic! I want to make this!
Thank you Kim! At first I thought that the Zipper was a little too industrial looking but it grew on me, lol!
@@crafty_lou7 I’m glad it grew on you, thinking about real hand bags, that’s what they have. Fantastic job!!!
Was going to try for a "quick" gift, but I've saved it for another day when I'm not in a rush. Looks so cute.
Thank you! It's got lots of bits, so it's not quick, but It's super fun to make!
Thank you so much for your project!! I made one last night😊. Your instructions were awesome too! Thank you for sharing.
That is beautiful. Thank you for sharing.
Blown away, getting my papers together and attempting this tomorrow! Thank you again Louise!
Were you able to find it?
Thank you so much Julia! I'm sorry it's taken me so long to say that!
I made this handbag today and really love it. I made a few errors but they were completely my fault, you did amazing on making the project simple to follow for anyone. Thank you for putting the design on Cricut and the tutorial here. I plan on making more for gifts and look forward to checking out your other videos.
Adorable! Really enjoyed how you explained this so thoroughly for each step. I have the design made in DS with digital papers. I will watch this again as I put it together. Thank you so much.
Thank you very much Carolyn! That is very kind of you!

So cute 🥰. Giving my try soon. Thanks 🤗
Love it! By chance can you do a video from the start of DS to the printing out on the Cricut please?
Do you mean how I create my designs In Design Space? I don't have one for this project, but I have to consider doing some tutorials for this. I get many requests.
Not from how you created it but from how you uploaded it and cut it out.
@@aliciacoccarelli5927 I have such a tiny craft space, that would be a very difficult thing to show. Let me think about how I could try to make that part easier.
I am also looking for a video that shows the cutting of the pieces of the bag and how everyone chooses which colours to use for what pieces... also what card is used... I can't find that anywhere 😢
@@crafty_lou7 I would like a list of what you cut what out of. That’s what I would like to see you do. Your videos are great but I feel like there should be a first video & this is the second one. I got lost trying to figure out your materials.
So awesome and inspired will there be a video on how to actually cut in design space
Ty for sharing love this video
Your video is so helpful. I am doing a test run before I use good materials. I am brand new to Cricut. Question, please? Where did you get your glue (thing)? It looks like it would make things so much easier. Thank you in advance for sharing your amazing work. Hugs from Canada.
Thank you so much! For me, the type of glue that I use is extremely important. I use either Art Glitter Glue (it contains no glitter, that is just its name) or Bearly Art Precision Craft glue. I like to transfer my glue into small precision tip glue applicator bottles with silicone caps. I can find all three items on Amazon.
@@crafty_lou7 Thank you so very much. I happened to go shopping in the States today and was lucky enough to find two types of applicators. I was so happy. The exchange rate is a killer today but you have to do what you have to do. LOL. I have not found the Bearly Art glue in any stores so I assume I must have to order on line. Thank you again for your help and direction. I am off to attempt to make this beautiful little purse. Finers crossed.

I've been seeing these EVERYWHERE, being the curious soul that I am, I wanted to find out who created it. And after much research here I am. I haven't tried to make one yet but I've seen how excited people are and it's pulling me too! So before I make one I'd just like to say THANK YOU , this is brilliant 👏 . I'd also like to ask , whats the weight limit for this bag?
P.S new subscriber , LOVE it 😀
I have no idea why this has become so popular Gabz, but it's pretty cool! For the base of the bag, I would recommend 80 lb card stock. The white is 65 lb, but you could certainly use a heavier weight (some have done those in glitter and they were absolutely stunning.). The handles are a little delicate but that is just the nature of the design. I hope that helps!
@@crafty_lou7 they are very versatile I think is why! People always need gift bags, thank you! Definitely helps, I wonder what all i could fit in one too! Lol Do you think it could hold a regular 16 oz bottle water?
@@gabzwilson2750 Hmm, I am not sure but I did make a larger version "Easter Handbag with Insert".
@@crafty_lou7 okay ,I'm going to try both, would be perfect for mothers day gift bags 😃

Do you have a guide to which mats have which pieces of cardstock/paper? I am a little confused on which is being cut on each mat (ie. base, design paper, zipper, etc.)
What kind of glue do you use for the designer cardstock purses? Thank you so much for sharing your craft! You are so very talented. ♥️
I just made one and used Bearly Art Precision Craft Glue; it worked really well.
Louise what type of glue do you use? I cant find one I like
Thank you so much absolutely love these. Is there a larger version by any chance xx
Yes there is! I made a larger version with an Easter theme. I'm not sure if the link will work, so if it doesn't please try to find it on my channel ua-cam.com/video/dUdqYknQxP8/v-deo.html
Just made this purse. Love it ! Thank you for sharing. I have been interested in getting an embossing machine. Can you tell me which one you have.
I am still using my Cuttlebug, but The Cricut company doesn’t seem to sell it anymore. There will come a time when I need to replace it and I will have to do a lot of research. I am sorry, I am not much help.
@@crafty_lou7 I had a feeling you were going to say cuttlebug. Thanks for replying .
Just beautiful. Where did you find the white textured cardstock? Thanks
The card stock is 8.5 by 11" Shimmer card stock from Michaels. I put my cut pieces into an embossing folder (Studded Leather 3D Embossing folder made by Gemini or Crafter's Companion) and then ran it through my embossing machine.
@@crafty_lou7 Wow thank you. I don't have an embossing machine. Thanks for sharing your wisdom and ideas. You are my hero.
@@crafty_lou7 I do have an embossing tool for my cricut. I am going to look in design space and see if there is a similar pattern and attempt to emboss the sheet before I cut. Do you think that will work?
@@rosanntaccone421 I can give you a shortcut, lol! I have the debossing tool as well! I attempted to replicate this design for the main panel in this explosion envelope. Take a look and tell me what you think! Here is the link to the file. You would have to copy the panel and then paste it in your Galentine's Day file. design.cricut.com/landing/project-detail/61f9abdf867d29764d65c638
Louise this is such a beautiful project and I was really excited to make it for my daughter's BD, but the file in DS was I think messed up. All the score lines were set up as print and cut. I managed to correct all but the heart card. Maybe it's my version of DS, but I thought I would let you know.
Thank you for letting me know. I have since checked on this file on both the desktop version and the mobile app and all score lines are still intact. It is possible that you opened and saved a file from someone else who was sharing this file after making their own changes to it? If it is a DS glitch, it's always best to let Cricut know so they can look into it.
hi Louise, I love your Easter larger Galentine handbag. It says in the description that it will deboss parts of it but when I click make it all the layouts just say basic cut & score. I want to practice debossing technique on some scrap paper before i use my good paper. How do I make it do that just for the white embellishment part. I know how to hide the parts I don't want to cut but as I said non of the parts has deboss as one of the tasks it will complete. I have the debossing tool but never used it
In my file, I have embossed my card stock using a 3D embossing folder and an embossing machine. I used this technique for both the original Galentine Handbag and for the larger Easter Version. I did toy with a similar pattern as you see on this Galentine version on this file design.cricut.com/landing/project-detail/61f9abdf867d29764d65c638 using the debossing tool on my Maker machine. You can open this file, copy the debossed panels that you find and paste them into the handbag file. Then you will have to size them to match the pieces that you wish to deboss. It does not give the exact same effect but it does create some dimension and interest to your card stock. Also, if you enter the word “pattern” in the search field when you go into images, you will find all sorts of designs that you can use to created debossed effects. I find that the debossing works best of thick card stock or even Kraft board.
@@crafty_lou7 thanks, i will give this a try
I love this but I have a Scan n Cut. Don’t judge me. ☺️Would you ever make this file as an SVG. 🤔
Can I purchase this file for my cameo 4 cutting machine I can't seem to find a file for silhouette cameo can you please help me.
Did your white paper already have a design on it or did you use a tool to put it on?
I love your video! I was wondering if I missed your supply list under your information. I heard you mentioned adhesive foil, so I checked for a supply list which might list the type of glue that you used, adhesive foil, card stock and weight.
The white card stock looked quilted.
Question: were we supposed to get the supplies from Design Space?
I believe the glue is the most important to gluing card-stock. I love how you used the small needle for the glue. I have bottles with the small tip. Too much glue can ruin a problem.
Folks this video is excellent, don’t forget to like and subscribe. ,
I’m glad you mentioned the like information so I immediately hit like.
Thank you for your kind words Vera. Any materials that I have used are mere suggestions because this project lends itself very well to all sorts of different variations. I like to use Art Glitter Glue or Bearly Art Precision Craft Glue, and I like to transfer my glue into small precision tip glue applicator bottles. I hope that helps!
How do you emboss the white paper?
how can you change the happy galentine day to another saying / and have the heart still under neath the writing////HELP HELP HELP
Excellent question. To remove the words, you can go into the layers panel (on a computer that is the panel on the right, on mobile, go to the bottom of your screen and find "layers"), find the words and delete them. (click on them "delete" on computer, click on the words and then click on the trash symbol on mobile). To add your own, you will need to select a writing font of your choice and then just type your new sentiment. Next, place it on the area of the card where you want it to write and then select your card and your text and then click on "attach". Make sure that only your card and your text are selected. You don't want to have any of the other pieces attached to your card.
Hello! I am in the middle of putting the bag together, but I don't have buckles? I don't see them anywhere on the cutting sheet... I'm loving it so far!
It should be there! I just checked the file and they are definitely there. Others have shared their links to my projects and may have changed them, so make sure that you are opening and saving the file that is linked in the description box below the video.

Can't wait to try this. Do I need a special blade for scoring lines? How does that work so I know where to fold?
Hi Jodie! It depends what kind of Cricut Machine that you have. If you have the Maker, (Original or 3) you will need either the scoring wheel or the scoring stylus. If you have a Cricut from the Explore Series, you will need the scoring stylus. There is a lot of scoring and folding in this design, so I do recommend using your Cricut to score. The stylus is not too expensive and is a very handy tool to own if you are interested in Paper crafting with your Cricut.
@@crafty_lou7 I have the Maker. The scoring stylus looks easy since it just goes in the pen compartment. With the scoring wheel do you need to just switch out the blade with the wheel after it cuts?
@@jodiehoogendam4270 That’s right. With the scoring wheel, your Maker will prompt you to first insert the scoring wheel and then will stop and inform you when it is time to insert the blade.
