This is definitely refreshing. Most theories I see about Ganondorf in OoT (those few there are ) seem to be that Ganondorf actually has good intentions and just wants to free his people. In reality, he could not care less about the Gerudo. He is in it for himself only.

I found something that seems to match up with your theory of Ganondorf trying to pierce the sky and break into the heavens.
While it's not an officially canon game, the first Hyrule Warriors game presents itself as taking place in a version of the Child Timeline set a very long time after Twilight Princess, featuring the same Ganondorf from both that game and the Child split ending of Ocarina of Time. And in that first Hyrule Warriors game, Ganondorf captures Hyrule Castle for himself. During the final battle between him and all the good guys, we are shown that the conquered Hyrule Castle has been affected by Ganondorf's power, which is represented by several gigantic evil-looking swords that have been jabbed into either the ground or into various structures surrounding the castle, with the biggest sword of all jabbed into Hyrule Castle itself, right in front of the castle's central tower.
When we see this giant sword embedded in the castle, the very end tip of the sword's handle points upward into the sky and is surrounded by a vortex that looks eerily similar to the one seen in the Adult portion of Ocarina of Time, only with this vortex colored gray instead of in the colors of the Sages' energy (but that can be explained by Ganondorf having to use his own dark power to generate the sky-piercing vortex since there weren't any Sage temples in Hyrule Warriors). And when Hyrule Castle is retaken by the good guys in the final battle, the giant sword is magically lifted up and removed from the castle. Once the sword then disappears, so too does the sky-piercing vortex vanish and return back to being a normal sky.
It's almost as if Ganondorf in this game wanted to continue his original plan from Ocarina of Time before his plans were averted in the Child split ending, making the sky-piercing vortex of Hyrule Warriors be a long time coming for the Child Timeline version of Ganondorf.

It was always my theory that the "sage rooms" in Ganondorfs Castle held the spirits of previous sages, who had been bested by the creatures that infiltrated their respective temples in an attempt to reach the sacred realm again and lay claim to it and the powers that still lie there. That's why it's the new sage that breaks each of the connectors to the central tower, their presence in the temple allows the previous sages spirit to fully pass on now their untethered from the towers grasp. Really cool to come across a theory that makes sense with my own headcanon, you've got a follow from me, great video guys.

I never watch video game video's all the way through, but this one was great to watch. My personal opinion on this subject is that Ganondorf has always wanted the triforce pieces for himself which to him was the ultimate power. In every Zelda game he always captures Zelda which has the triforce of Wisdom and Link is the hero of the game which has the triforce of Courage and Ganondorf has the last triforce which is Power. When all 3 of them are in the same room, Ganondorf thinks he can force the triforce pieces off of them and all 3 pieces will be his to do whatever he wants. But it never go that way for him. I do like the portal idea. That one was good to me. Anything is possible in video games.

I always assumed what was under Hyrule Castle in OoT was supposed to be lava, but it never did look right to me. Gloom is an interesting theory because it really is the same exact shades!
And as far as the colored vortex being an attempt at a portal… I could totally see it being an attempt to get to the Sacred Realm. You’re right about the swirling masses of colors when traveling dimensions being a recurring theme.
I know you said you didn’t want to get into the similarities between TotK’s Dorf and OoT/the rest of Zelda’s, but I really do think the recurring themes between both are huge.
    In both he’s:
After an object of great power
Hails from the Gerudo but seems to lose all connection to them after attacking Hyrule
A length of time passes where he knows about Link before their fated duel
Effortlessly overpowers all other Sages except Rauru, who is the only one keeping him from complete domination
Feigns fealty to the King of Hyrule, with Zelda being the only one who seems to get how dangerous he is
I think this means we can put a bunch of other pieces together between both sets of games as well:
It’s definitely Gloom under both Hyrule Castles
He’s not at full strength when we fight him in either
Demon King Dorf’s similarity to Demise is huge and definitely seems to mean that still happened
He seems to lose himself in beast form in OoT, similar to the Calamity Ganon and the Demon Dragon
He’s simply insatiable. He can conquer the entire world, fill the land with monsters and it’s simply never enough.
In TP, he’s extra malicious and angry bc in that timeline he never even got to carry out his plan back in OoT. In WW he did manage to, but was defeated by Adult Link, and had dare I say a much gloomier disposition? Like mans just wanted his home back. Both fit in BotW/TotK’s Dorf, with both Malice and Gloom being physical manifestations of his emotions as he did not manage to accomplish his goals fully, but came so frustratingly close.
I think there’s much more that can be extrapolated from this framework, but I’m tired and don’t think I’m the best person to come up with it right now, but I do think TotK’s flashback Dorf and OoT’s Dorf really do teach us about eachother

Interesting. 😮 I never would have guessed that Ganondorf had the ambition to build a portal to the Sacred Realm. I always thought that the swirling energy above the castle was just his way of asserting dominance over Hyrule. Listening to this explanation makes sense to me, especially after I originally played A Link To The Past. Perhaps when Ganondorf obtains the full Triforce, he uses the portal that he created to enter the Sacred Realm and transform it into the Dark World. 🤔

If I recall, OoT mentioned that the Triforce was left where the goddesses departed from the world.
Could it be possible that he was trying to recreate that departure to potentially create a second Triforce? Or even forcibly pull the gods back into the world?

  • @archmdc370
    @archmdc370 Рік тому +2

This is an interesting theory. I always remembered the vortex of swirling colors but never put together that he was using the sage's power to open a portal to the gods.
Would this be an alternative path to the Sacred Realm where Link was sealed away? Zelda and the sages end up trapping him here anyway in a different area. Or is this a different place?

  • @The-One-True-Emperor
    @The-One-True-Emperor 10 місяців тому +1

Ganondorf's initial ambition was to take control over 'the United Kingdom of Hyrule.' After succeeding in that task, he then wanted control over the whole world. He was already a king in his own right as 'King of the Gerudo.' But, based on every story and character detail we can extract in-story from 'Ocarina of Time,' we can deduce how and why he was not wholly satisfied with simply ruling over his own indigenous Gerudo culture. 'The Hylians' are the superior race, in which they can hear the voices of the gods. This one detail would create enmity in Ganondorf for Hylians. Also, he was raised in a society of women. He was deprived of any strong and wholesome male example in his rearing and was the sole lone wolf in his kingdom. Meaning, there was not a father figure in his upbringing to teach him how to be a man, in especially an honourable one. Koume and Kotake were his guardians, witches which taught him how to hate and to use magic or witchcraft to brainwash and subjugate people. By this, his personal psychology becomes perverted. His own inability to conquer himself drives him to be a conqueror, yet not 'by right of conquest,' but to oppress and subjugate with tyranny. Ganondorf is a wounded man, striving to be at the absolute top over all people and all things. In his training to assume his Gerudo kingship, he was probably consistently berated about being the only male Gerudo and that it was his lawful birthright to assume the throne. Before his state visit with 'the King of Hyrule,' Ganondorf had already traversed 'the land of Hyrule' in search of all possible clues regarding 'the TriForce.' He may have wanted to prove himself worthy of being the Gerudo's king, yet when he learned of the possibility he could attain more power, his ambition for rulership grew to his aggrandizement. And, although firstly keeping with the custom and history of maintaining the Gerudo throne as its surviving male issue, Ganondorf believed that he could expand his destiny beyond his native homeland's 'Estates of the Realm.' Sadly, during all of this, there was no one in his life who truly cared about his overall well-being, to satiate or restrain him. But, another detail about his role in his nation is that of High Priest. 'The King of the Gerudo' serves as their Sovereign as well as spiritual leader. Whilst serving dual offices, he already has the right to command respect. When Ganondorf comes of age, he is already an accomplished swordsman, and an excellent warrior as he helped win the peace in 'the Hyrulean Civil War.' After betraying 'the King of Hyrule,' Ganondorf seizes control over Hyrule politically and militarily. He soon after goes on to invade 'the Sacred Realm' after Link pulls 'the Master Sword' from 'the Pedestal of Time.' When touching 'the TriForce,' he only obtains 'the TriForce of Power.' He cannot obtain 'the true TriForce to rule over all' for two reasons: his heart is not in balance, lacking wisdom and courage, and he is not a Hylian. Trying to gain 'the True TriForce' was already futile and his desire to rule over the whole world causes him to literally lose his humanity. When the Gerudo man 'Ganondorf Dragmire' passes away, he is manifested in to a monster named Ganon, which means 'thief.' His humanity is not only lost, it is stolen. Zelda laments over Ganondorf as being pitiful because his desire to hold and control the powers of the gods was doomed from the start and too many suffered needlessly. As for the barriers in 'Ganon's Tower,' they were created by 'the King of Evil' using 'the TriForce of Power' to restrain the power of the sages from liberating themselves and the kingdom. Because Link conquered Hyrule's various Temples, winning the medallions from the Sages were not only tokens of his success but they were bequeathing power they still had to 'the Hero of Time' as prophesied. Link could only have rescued the Sages with 'the Light Arrow' which was given to him just in time from Zelda, 'the Seventh Sage,' 'keeper of the TriForce of Wisdom,' and 'the Princess Royal of the United Kingdom of Hyrule.' 'May the way of the Hero lead to the TriForce.' 'May the TriForce be with thee.' 😉

He was executed and suposed to be dead, yet a Fraction of the Power from the Creator Gods suddenly appeared in him.
Not knowing this is caused by the Hero of Time Traveling back in Time by acident, he believes that this was a sign of the Gods having their favor in him.
Therefore he sees himself as the King that is Choosen by the Gods and thinks that his rule is meant to be absolute.
This is the explaination for his behavior in TP while in Wind Waker he rather acts like having a Grudge on the Gods, thinking they abandoned him.

in totk (Ganondorf) created roots like the tower that sucks life energy like in Ocarina of Time the same under the castle and the roots can see them in the depths where it's anti-roots of light that run through the map in depth even if the roots aren't marked Like light the roots are, it's a theory that Ganondorf is on some kind of big central root under the castle where he is.

I always considered the vortex above Ganon's Castle to be akin to the smoke rings above Death Mountain after Volvagia is revived, a way for the common folk of Hyrule to determine "Hey, stay away from this place! A great evil is located directly under here!". Admittedly the theory is kind of shoddy considering most other places that hide a great evil in OoT don't have a signal like that, but I figured I'd still comment it anyways. If nothing else, it might be a boon to the gods of the YT algorithm

I've never thought about the vortex over the castle...I need to play the original OoT to check that out.
Theoretically, I wonder if Ganon was trying to get past the sky barrier? I don't think it was confirmed to him until the end of the game that the Triforce piece go to Link and Zelda, so he may have believed that breaking through the barrier would allow him to reach the lands of the Gods themselves and reach the pieces denied him there?
Or, better yet, Ganondorf is working on a way to take on Demise himself.
Theoretically, if Ganon ever gets wind of the curse, since he idolizes power so much he'd want to free himself from it. Ganondorf would want to control his own destiny, not be stuck in an endless cycle of rebirth due to the whims of a Demon God.
So, to me, it would be interesting if that is the true reason Ganondorf wants the Triforce, to no longer be a pawn of the Gods but to forge his own destiny as King of Hyrule.

This is a very fair point and a good observation for the vortex above the castle, but we must indeed consider the newest iteration/remaster of these older games as the one with the canonical visuals/imagery (or being closer to developer intent at least) when tying it to to story or lore.
Some folks also consider the new textures showing Rito Imagery in Twilight Princess HD as being non-canon because it wasn't in the original game, but when we start selectively dismissing lore like that we run the risk of cherry picking evidence for a theory, so we must use most recent and official media to come to these conclusions.
It is of course just a theory but these visual elements feel to be obviously placed and tied together with the elements we mentioned to tell some sort of story, but we may not be entirely on the mark with it. Only the developers will ever know, but we shall continue to speculate!

    Gannondorf isn’t evil.
The triforce has 3 out of 4 segments, and those segments are halves, thus the triforce is only 1.5 blocks out of a 4 block transaction.
If each block is symbolic of a seat of power Gannondorf has only 37.5ish% rulership.
In a corporation with an operating agreement of majority rules 51% are the ‘Gods’, and thus make the decisions.
The title is Zelda, and Zelda is who is princess of that realm, thus Zelda would have no more than 25%, and that is if one of those triforce segments isn’t Zelda’s.
Gannondorf is showing belief in sacred Geometry and showing the realm is a realm of squares rather than triangles or is theorizing that the triangles is half of another complete shape, that they were drawn and quartered, in Christian terms crucified, and only given half of three segments of the cross and their godhead isn’t with them.
Arguably, Gannondorf and Zelda, and the supposed king of Hurule are in prayer.
The image appears scary because of the nature of what put them in that situation in the first place. Ever heard of “Don’t book by its cover?”
The flaw isn’t with the game, but the cartridge itself. No matter how many times the player takes possession of link, the main character, as player one in the single player game the fate will always be the same.
Gannondorf was, indeed, opening a portal, a doorway or gateway to another realm. That is the hyrule version on the giant hydron collider in cern.
When the game is played, energy runs through the code and whomever is player one takes possession of the character and those in the game are somewhat limited in the options they can give; however, there is power in the symbols for those who have knowledge of them.
The player can be influenced by the stories in the game, and that does have an impact on the mind of the player that has the potential to impact other minds and it’s what the mind can do and what the mind can influence that matters.
If you believe Gannon is evil then Gannondorf prayed to the wrong God, hence the loop, and the message gets heard until the just God who can be as Christ and see the innocence and childlike purity in things and the innocence in action and knows there is something more and believes in hope even if things don’t look so pretty can do something to help.
Here is where moddding comes in.
A robot created for destruction was repurposed for salvation and restoration and was actually able to bring hidden and deleted game files to life once more in Ocarina on the N64. This gets closer to the creators true intent and uncovers the mystery.
If something cannot be remembered it must be recreated or created again. Such is that prayer there, and is quite similar to that of manifest destiny, and they are utalizing laws outlined in the magma carta, natural law in the spiritual realm, the Bible, and the us constitution.
The power of the sages is being abused, but the sages put themselves in that position because their power is what would be necessary to open an exit door and send a message, a cry, kinda like a 911 call or a whistle.
The symbology was used to show that Gannon is putting the player that is possessing the player character link in the Godhead 4th right position which is what authorizes the entry into that realm when Zelda ask link the question that the player chooses the answer to. If the player possessing link says ‘No’ then the hope is in another, if ‘Yea’ an argument of trespassing would be very challenging to argue against them, because technically they would be doing something illegal, it’s kinda like a work visa. The work visa allows the player possessing link to visit their realm and do things and also, technically, make some modifications if necessary to actually save hyrule from the fate.
This is why, technically, all devices are suppose to receive an update, and steam workshop and communities that have the awareness that it isn’t only a game that it is a life with energy that runs it has some knowledge of, and that the actual addiction is drama put into our code and that we aren’t suppose to be doing that for entertainment because as long as hyrule falls in that game then hyrule isn’t saved, that’s why all the games repeat themselves.
The theory is that whatever realm can solve the problem and stop that loop on all the games once is the most powerful realm where the werthy Gods reside.
Arguably, they’re praying for the King of the King of Kings of the Gods of the Bible and games and scripture. The creators of the multiverse.
That’s what the energy is being utalized for, and that is why we are aware of and speaking of that game in our realm here.
Arguably they have prayed to the realm of the source of Gods, both legitimate and illegitimate, and must be in a pretty serious circumstance if that’s what it is.
Controlling the player link with a controller amd demonic possession are no different, they are the same.
Whom is possessing gets something out of it and those in that world get something out of it.
The question to ask is what is our role in that and what moral fiber of actions are we going to do or employ?
That’s also why we should buy the game in dollars because on the dollar is a triforce and the writing ‘payment for all debts public and private.’ because it acts as a document that limits liability if we were only purchasing the game for entertainment or only had intentions to save hyrule in game to the end of that game and lack modding or coding skills and trust that individuals in our society can do what is necessary to help because coded in that game was entrapment:
because technically Gannondorf is correct when says, “I owe it all to you kid.” because technically by possessing a character in the game and agreeing to help, when Zelda asks, we are obligated to gannondorf, link, Zelda, hyrule, the sages, and all those there, because we agreed to answer their prayer to the best of our ability or refer that prayer and delegate to someone who can, and are morally obligated.
We don’t know what they have at stake, but there is the possession of a body and a controller.
Basically this shows gannondorf’s hate against gods was accurate, but also Gannondorf isn’t in control of that realm, and neither is the player. Whomever is may already be defeated, but the code and pathways the energy travels still remains.
That’s why those mazes are so complicated for something that simple in the castle, because it isn’t logical a bio-logical living and questioning mind that knows when to follow policy and when to break policy would ask those questions and is most likely to employ the resources and professionals and team of individuals to get it done.
That’s the kind of stuff presidents deal with.
Now that we’ve got that out of the way, allow me to introduce myself…
    (Sound familiar?)
Were you ever trapped in Kokiri forest and want to move further and play more, but couldn’t figure out how?
Did you get the game from a used game store somewhere or a garage sale somewhere and ask someone to help you or see someone else with the game or what looked similar and knew there was more to it and decided that the Nara sea in the forest wasn’t enough?
Was there another save file there that had some places completed and the exit to hyrule field already completed, and you wondered how and wanted to get there?
Did you accidentally erase the info or compel somebody to clear the save data?
How many hours have your worked in that and faught?
    Who was possessing who actually?
If work is defined as an action done to accomplish a specific goal or purpose or supposed thing how much time have you actually spent in work?
Anyway, if you don’t know how to change something isn’t pausing in the best day possible and looping it until you can figure out what to do the best thing that can be done until it’s done?
If there was only one time when you were with loved ones wouldn’t it be necessary to pause it there until what took them away could be stopped and the loved ones could be where needed and accepted?
In the neverending story, have you ever heard of ‘the nothing’?
What have individuals often resorted to when they know something is missing but can’t find a way to get their needs met? Is it pretty when they do it? Do prayers get answered? How do complex prayers get answered, especially if there isn’t a guide? Is it observation? That’s why it’s a good thing to be thankful for everything, and keep on keeping on.
What does the owl say, “don’t get discouraged,”
What does the music in our realm say, “troubles will come and they will pass’ simple man, Leonard Skyward.” Pardon the misspelling.
What is a ward but a guardian.
These realms aren’t so different, and perhaps we created that game so we can remember what it’s all about and what is truly at stake.
Perhaps the sages there are here and move many places.
Something to think about, and thought begats (comes before, precedes) action.
Some might see Zelda as evil because of the position she puts link in, but others know there is often more than what meets the eye and evil spelled backwards is live.
Zelda wasn’t talking about Gannondorf. Green is slang for newbie on the job. Zelda was referencing the player. There is life here, and the life here created the life there as a mirror to the problem here, and as long as the games here repeat the same problem we still have that same or similar underlying prayer, that inspired the whole thing to begin with.
Find that you find your purpose in life, and then the bravery to step into awareness and
