I got this module a few months ago, and didn't find it the most immediately intuitive, and so suspected I was drastically under-exploiting it. Your video confirms this and is super helpful as I realise there's way more I can do with WD than I realised. Thanks!
You're welcome! My strategy is usually patching something like a WoggleBug into the module and see what happens. I always learn a lot from 'overusing' a module and patch stuff into CV that wasn't intended to be patched into there.
Thanks right back! It's just that the module sounds a bit 'thin' on it's own, but when I hooked up Ruina Versio at the end of the video, the sound was insane!

Without question THE best walk-through, use-case examples, and demo of this module to date! I've tried to score one (though I think two, ideally) of these since they came out, and always seem to just miss them being available. I must be more diligent,. ;)

Your video is perfect as usual. But if somebody tries to copy the sound of your presented modul and find out what you are doing around the modul(s) you are preseting he has to sell his car, house and sailing vessel. Maybe he will get also alot for his wife. And is he still not able to reaching your level of additional equiment maybe he has to sell his soul. But - who cares :) . I like your style of presentation
This may be true! But the final set with the two or three Versio's and a Marbles is relatively affordable and will fit in a 84 HP case. With everything I've tried, this could have been a 'starterkit' episode. The Weather_Drones is really cheap, but it can't stay on its own. It will also work very well with Marbles and a Clouds clone. I think I'll revisit this module in a starterkit episode.
@@CinematicLaboratory Yes, I think this is a very good idea! The afordability is all the time a interesting question. The Break Even is very often in different levels. More important is to get a feeling what is your target and how can I get it. Your starterkit episodes are also very nice. Maybe somebody has to turn the question to: what kind of sound would you like to have? Drones? Ambient? Harmonics? Beats like Techno? This was for sure also my problem in the beginning. I liked the idea of Eurorack and I wanted all possibilties. But: I love my wife so she stays :) . Thanks for sharing your experience ... Sascha
@@sinus7979 the weather drones is a very simple DIY kit (I built mine) and this can also reduce the cost and for me it increases my enjoyment of using the module
@@TimGregory Hello Tim, thx for your message. I'm a proud owner of the Swarm. In a lot of points the drone is equal. But you are right: Sometimes there are possibilites to reduce the costs. Also the second hand market is a good chance. But if you are able to friggle your PCB's what a joy!

No, but Quadrantid Swarm is available as a desktop version and it's even cooler because you can sequence it and it has a built in spring reverb.
