Ahhh ... well done. You've been "Hainbached." By Hainbach himself! You've reached "Hainbachosity...!" It's the highest level any synth nerd can achieve. Seriously though, cool video. I think you just persuaded me to get a Swarm. Thanks.
if anything - this shows that its not the hardware, its the composition that's of greatest importance... that said, the swarm really excels at character and versatility - its the derelict warehouse plaits. I'm all about Patch #2 for the rhythmic sensibilities ♫♪˙‿˙♫♪
One word: Inspiring. So much range in your compositions (#2 was absolutely magical) and mad skill on #7 playing this like a real instrument (which of course it is, I just meant YOU were the sequencer on the keys). Wicked! You and Mylarmelodies have really sold me on this amazing little synth.
Patch 7 is nuts. Just when I thought it couldn't get more crazy, you kept going and brought it all the way back to the beginning. As someone that has had this thing for only a couple weeks and has difficulty taming this thing, that was amazing to watch.
This was brilliant! I have the Swarm and sometimes struggle to get decent sounds out of it. This has renewed my love of it. Patch 1 might be my new go to bass line. More of these please!!
@@polythingies can I also ask how you came up with the midi? I downloaded them too and they are crazy. Completely amazing. The note range and different length of notes. I would never have come up with that. Did you just do them in Ableton?
@@Kompa55_Music Yes, these are made in ableton ( and for some, i started doing it on the squarp pyramid). With midi, it's funny to make complex sequences to play with the saturation/modulation between notes who happens with the swarm :)
This is one of the best synth demo/patch demo videos I have seen in the last year. What we're seeing here is a truly innovative, unique instrument being used by someone with the talent to showcase its abilities. It's a shame this synth has been discontinued, supposedly due to Eowave being unable to source the necessary electronics for what they say is "a few years". I hope that won't be the case. Oh, and as for which patches I liked... honestly, all of them. The 3rd or 4th patch had a sort of "post TD-3" sound that worked amazingly well with the ratcheting, but honestly, all of them... including the one which appeared to have been sped up a bit... were fantastic. Great video!
This is one of the best and most imaginative demos of the QS that I've seen. You do a brilliant job of showing off some of its more musical capabilities, rather than just atonal weirdness. Don't get me wrong - I love a bit of atonal weirdness - but you really show how versatile this little synth can be just on its own. It's sent me rushing back to mine with a whole load of new ideas, so thanks very much. Good work!
number 5 is my fave cuz it doesnt require midi melodies and is super hands on. im naming it "triggerhappy" thanks so much, love the midi ideas!!! keep em coming :D :D
That opening sequenced patch is fantastic. I’d love to hear a whole track built around it. I liked the others, but that hit me in the face and remained excellent. This just made me decide to take it to the beach for making some music. I need to get Swarm fu a bit better :-)
Nicely timed. I persuaded the wife to buy me this little stinger for Christmas😃 . Your outstanding work here with this machine will serve me well. Subbed and Cheers.
Hi, just stumbled across your vid! I got a Swarm a while back, and whilst it's not a bread and butter synth (there's more than enough of those), it has rapidly become my go - to synth when I just want to go bonkers and make a racket! Oddly enough, I then find I have a springboard to a spiffing tune. Highly recommended - JUST LIKE YOUR EXCELENT VID. Cheers!
Trading a Moog Grandmother for this thing today. Can't wait to try your patches! Numbers 2 and 3 are my favorites. It'll be a great addition to my "band" (2 DFAMs and a Circuit Tracks).
Okay, this is so good. Not only does it make me want to run out and buy one, I've listened to this a few times over... More than any other synth video on UA-cam so far. My favorite is Patch 7 at 6:17.
It reminds me a little bit of "Ventolin" by Aphex Twin, a little bit of "Over My Dead Body" by Aaammyyy, and fits into a genre playlist that I made called Twisted Scythe.
Thanks, i think it's the one i prefer also after all (really relaxing to play that) i might do a 15 mn version :(i've rythme ideas who coud be great at some point with it)
This is brilliant, I got one of these after Mylar Melodies featured it and the hard techno sound really tingled my ear buds, but my goodness have I been struggling to get useable sounds from it.

not a demoscene composer, simply a demoscene programmed to replicate myself thru synthesizers!

I can’t get my Swarm to respond to midi. The frugal online “manual” doesn’t help much.
How did you set up your midi channel ?
what did you do, that you can put some external Midis into the swarm.. ??

could i use this to sequence a strega potentially?
Hello, you can't output the sequence un CV directly(but on the input of the strega, it might be fun)
What are you using to build your midi sequences? Are you doing it on a computer and sending it out?
One question were These patches sequnced on the swarm or die you use midi aplications?
