Dave, thanks for your video, I've just purchased a 2nd hand 40th anniversary scalextric mini in green and I intend to tune it up to make it competitive with my newer cars and I will certainly be checking the points you have shown me. Does anyone know of any other modifications I can make as I love the retro look of the car and I want it to be a winner although that may be difficult to get do. Keep up the good work. Regards Michael 👍🚥
Dave, I clicked on this video because I have always loved the 190s (patiently awaiting the Michael Schumacher version) and I have to say that livery/color is gorgeous (possibly one of my favorites ever on any car). But, what I didn't know is how much I'd learn from this. What a great video! Thanks much for sharing your time and your knowledge. Best to ya!
I'm really getting a thing for the German beer liveries, this one, Hasserorder and the Warsteiner obviously lol I think something about the gothic lettering appeals to the Motorhead fan in me :)
I agree!! I have always been partial to the Warsteiner liveries growing up! The Germans sure do take their cars and brews seriously and the gothic font sure does set the mood!😂 @@slotr
I finally got my tire truer and I will be able to start going through all of my cars and getting them sorted out. Very nice and clear set up. Furthermore, I’ve noticed that some slots at cars come with the small SP 45 connectors, and some don’t. I’ve started adding those to all of my digital conversions because I’ve realized that I am slowly unplugging my digital chips and running analog with the cars more often but leaving the chip in place just in case I want to run it digitally again
Hey Dave nice video I round off the leading edge of the guide and especially the bottom edge They tend to catch on lane changes or the joins Cuts down on that click click noise mate Cheers 🍻
Dave, loved this video today and for me it's heaven sent as I have a shelf queen Ninco Ford GT of the same vintage that I'm resurrecting. Talk about watching with interest. I mostly run on Scaley track, will the NSR Ultragrips you fitted be suitable? Can you share which ones you used?
Love that chip install considering it’s the larger one. For the guide wires, if you feed the red through the right side and put in to the left slot and black fed though oppositely the wires will help self center and the wires will not bind up/ curl up towards the body and may effect body float.
A really, really good tuning video there Dave. One of the best 😀 The car handles really well now and, if you ask me, it maybe needs a touch more top end speed and braking which is more about the motor and/or controller. I am not sure whether it is one of the older 21k motors or the newer 23k? My Slot IT Ferrari 512M ran really well OOB and so I suspect that the QC has improved with them since the pandemic? Otherwise, the livery is very festive and so maybe not the best 'summer' car? Of course, we all know who would be driving it had it have been a Pioneer!. Finally, the 132 version of my 8 year old daughter finally arrived last week. I'll see about snapping it and commenting it when I get back from France.
I'm still learning slot cars, but I know the principles of making a 1:1 car handle and starting with a 4 wheel alignment so all the wheels are in the right place, is a good start :)
Bodies have improved but chassis/build quality from a racers point of view has dropped massively behind scaleauto nsr and sideways these days a shame really

It breaks traction which makes the tail actually track to the left first, then to the right (fishtail).needs some PG's or silicones......
Nice simple tuning tips, great video
Nice work on setup wow what a difference.
Been waiting for this Dave
great vid Dave, nice adjustments. Running sweet. All you need now is to blast The Klf and were back in 91.
All bound for mumu land
Nice one Dave, now some NSR Ultra grips and your away 😀
Great review Dave I think you're gonna have a lot of fun with that car 👍👍

this should be interesting. Once done tweeking it will be a cool one to run.
Very nice!
Great content, and thanks for sharing it. By the way, where can I buy that type of tire truer? It looks professional!
That's the Swiftsixteen truer from Rob at Swiftslots check this video :) ua-cam.com/video/I7VrLmyYvR0/v-deo.htmlsi=uSXu-C-7GCRkgEjg
I need to get me a proper setup block any suggestions Dave
The slot car corner one is good if you're desperate otherwise watch this space
@@slotr I am watching :)
My line is 9.5 seconds… and under 8.5 seconds is a great car.. under 8 is fantastic.. and faster than that are Thunderslots..
This was really interesting - From someone that’s never really tuned / fettled /tweaked a car before (shocking I know)

L'auto cambia anche la corsia?
yes the FT-Slottechnik 1044 chip I installed does lane change, ghost car and pit lane functions on Carrera digital system
