- Is this a 'I see it, I want it' installation??? It might be! I needed a little black dress and had 24h to do it, so it was the perfect opportunity to try my hand at a very expensive Liberty silk print.
I hope you like the outcome!

Hello everyone! I've recently launched the Audrey dress pattern which features the exact bodice used in this video, so if you're keen to recreate the Frankie dress, this one might be for you: thrillsandstitches.etsy.com/uk/listing/1582500165/audrey-2-in-1-perfect-circle-skirt-dress
Ok, ok, I'm very late to the party here but ARE YOU FOR REAL WITH THE FIT OF THIS DRESS?!?! Absolutely impeccable 🙌🤌👌❤
Thank you so much!!☺️🦋 So happy with how this one turned out, but will have to wait until the current heatwave is over to be able to wear it 😅
I just bought this pattern, and I'm so excited to make it! This is exactly what I pictured for a resort wedding I'm attending in the summer!
That’s amazing, I hope you’ll love it! Enjoy the process 💜
The amazing thing about being able to design and sewing our own clothing is catering to unique body shapes, even though I've struggled so hard lately to like anything on myself... I'm working on that this summer, trying to motivate myself, fix my health, and feel like I'm taking care of myself instead of me binge eating and not caring... But I think being able to start making things for my body no matter the size it's at right now can help me navigate those feelings.. Anyway, love seeing you make something for yourself and you do an amazing job as per usual!! :)
Thanks so much Stephanie for this sincere comment! I love that you're looking out for yourself and start your self-care journey. It's so important to be healthy, but it's also what makes us feel good! I also want to take more care of myself - as you might know, running a YT channel can be hard work and it's easy to forget how important it is to take care of our bodies. I wish you the best of luck with your journey xx
Such a perfect use of that gorgeous fabric.
I gave the Liberty sale a miss because I'd just gotten back from traveling and I'd bought a fair bit of fabric while I was away, but I have regretted it ever since 😄
Thank you so much! Ohhhh I spent half my paycheque that month on fabrics 🫠 I am on a strict no-new-fabrics-diet rn
Whenever a vacay or trip rolls around, I'm exactly like you and want to make something! And that's when I realize I have some serious gaps to fill in my closet. Your dress turned out STUNNING! I always love Reformations style, but feel like the quality isn't worth the price so it's super cool you made your own version!
Thank you so much ☺️ And so true, the vacation-sewing-fever is real!
Oh well you went and did it again!!! Beautiful dress you look gorgeous!👗🧵🪡🥰
Thank you so much Sharon 🥰
Wow fits like a glove ❤❤
Thank you, I am quite chuffed about it ☺️
So gorgeous 😍
Thank you! ☺️
It’s perfect 👌🏾
Thank you so much 🥰
Dress looks lovely on you 😊
Thank you! 😊
Oh snap this is a nice dress!
Right?! Thank you, I’m happy it turned out so nicely ☺️
Its so gorgeous 😍😍 Such a perfect dress for such an occasion 🥺 The fabric is so beautiful and you did it amazing.
Thank you 🥰
I have a Bernina and rarely do the off brand feet fit. I’m pretty thrifty and paying 25$ and up per foot is not feasible. I bought a set of feet and I realized I could modify the opening with a metal drill bit and file. Now I have inexpensive feet for my machine. Great self drafted dress!
Sounds like a good hack! Thank you :)
Gorgeous dress on you!
Thank you! 💜
Look at the fit omg and the snatched waist!!!! so perfect🫡💕
Thank you 🥰
Dress looks lovely on you
Thank you! ☺️

Hey, I just discovered your channel and I LOVE this “I see it, I want it” series. You’re an inspiration for me (I only just started sewing this January). Question for you! Do you use a serger? If not, how do you normally finish your seams?
Thank you so much ☺️ I do use a serger! It's a fab addition to your tools if you want to expand, and I use it on most projects. I didn't use it here because my needles were dull and I wanted to make sure I don' ruin the silk 😬 Since I lined this dress, serging the sides wasn't necessary ☺️
Love this!! Was just talking to my friend the other day about sewing a Frankie dupe. Do you have a tutorial for how you drafted the bodice block?
I do! Two actually - ua-cam.com/video/zsED92D1qm4/v-deo.html That’s the most recent one. I adapted this pattern from my standard block. Hope this helps ☺️
@@ThrillsandStitches love it, thank you!
Hi! I just bought this pattern from your Etsy store, I'm so excited to use it! Can you tell me how much fabric I need for it?
Hi! Oh that’s exciting, I hope you will like it :) The amount is stated on the Etsy shop listing, you’ll need between 2-2.5 meters (dependant on the size you make and the width of the fabric). Happy seeing!
Ooh you got some clippy boys
I did! Such a good purchase 👏
Love this! Do you have a link for the lining fabric you used?
I bought it on Goldhawk Road and can’t exactly remember which shop it was, sorry!
And thank you! 🙏
@@ThrillsandStitches ahhh okay thank you! What should I google to find similar online? Mainly thicker fabric that comes up when I look for lining fabric, the one you used looks delightfully lightweight 😍
@@SceneKidd07 It is really nice quality. The one I used is viscose lining I believe - I hope you can find something similar! ☺️
Hi- What model sewing machine do you use and how do you like it?
I have a very simple machine I think I have outgrown. Thanks!!! ❤
I have a Brother Innovis sewing machine and a Brother Lock 2104D serger, both bought at the same time. I love them both! At this point, I would probably go for a model above the Innovis, but it is a great, reliable machine that does everything it needs to do, including button holes :)
Hi! Is there any way to get the bodice that you used?
Not yet! But I am working on a pattern release and will make sure to update the channel when it's ready!
hi, I have got your Ophelia dress pattern, but I have not been able to find the top part pattern for this dress on your channel nor etsy. Do you have it somewhere else? Thank youuuuu
Hi! This is because it's not yet launched - however, I am looking at beginning of October for the release of this bodice :) Make sure to follow me on Insta, I'll announce my releases there!
hi! is the full pattern now available? to purchase?@@ThrillsandStitches
@@MimiHanley-bc7gb it is! You can find it here, the top featured in this video is the exact one used in my Audrey Dress pattern: thrillsandstitches.etsy.com/uk/listing/1582500165/audrey-2-in-1-perfect-circle-skirt-dress
