had one delivered at the weekend after not riding for 35 years, ride it around the block every day until im confident, a very forgiving bike.
I've not ridden for 13 years and got a Blue XX last summer - within 10 minutes of sitting on her it was like 'daddies home' - oh what beautiful bit of engineering she is.
A kitten around town and an absolute animal on the highway and the mountain twisties.
@@cloudbasenirvana mines blue. Just bought a blue headlight cover, being delivered soon, saw one on another bike, look really good. Let you know what I think.
@@brianprimett5620 - I got a lightly smoked cover on my headlight - I'd go for the clear but mine was already on the XX - had a stone hit it a month or two ago and it put a bit of a crack in the cover so it is deffo a good investment.
I'm sure you'll love your XX - they really are such a wonderful ride - but be carefull as they can be dodgy as 130mph+ feels like about 60mph - you look at your clock and it's oh shit I better slow down.
I am currently the proud owner of US spec 2001 and 2002 models. These are my numbers 3 & 4 Blackbirds. Sold my 2020 Kawasaki ZH2 supercharged naked and went back to my overall favorite motorcycle, a CBR1100XX with NO disappointments! Why is there a pic of a Kawasaki ZX12R in this vid though??
I got my 2000 'Bird 12 years ago, with 36,000 kms. Nearing 99,000 and she has been a joy.
"A gentleman's bike" as the man said.
If/when you have to replace stator and reg/rectified (I did), go OEM, not aftermarket.
Highly recommend Avon rubber from the UK, dual compound for touring durability.
Look for me on the streets of Toronto, 9 months of the year.

Hey man,how comfortable you find it ( on the wrists, back) for long journeys? I do a lot of long rides . I'm 5'10
Great Bike...i Love this CBR
Great bike ! Love my BB'2000 !
Hi All can someone tell me which one to purchase...the carburettor or the fuel.injection. Thanks🎉
I had one so sorry I sold it
I have one 2 month ago and i'm soo happy. I do some maintenance and now are almost perfect. The only issue is, the battery aren't charging well and i have to use battery charger almost ever. Some people told the stator are too weak for this bike and that happened. Solution are changing with a third part one and all go fine.
That is a common theme. I bought a '99 efi 'bird new in 1999. Still have it and most likely not part with it. It has been a super reliable, refined sports tourer that provided a lot of happy memories.
Fantastic bike that hasn't dated at all.
